I am 67. I was blessed to live in Hawai'i from 1967 to 1971. My dad was the youth director at Hickam AFB. This video brought me to tears. The 3 years I lived in Hawai'i were happiest part of my childhood and youth. I learned so much in Hawai'i. It took me about 20 years to forgive my dad for bidding on a job that took us away from Hawai'i. Beautiful people. The most culturally diverse place I have ever lived. It is beautiful to see that Hawai'ian culture being celebrated and preserved. Mahalo from HaoleBoy56.

I so very much appreciate this video. It’s my healing video when I can’t be home on the Aina. I stay heartbroken. Beautiful Maui. Lahaina gone. So much sadness in my heart I constantly pray. Feel so sad. Pray for them 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🤍
Gilbert - I can understand your anger but rest assure it is the Native Hawaiians and what they mean to the Islands that left a lasting impression with me and many others. Mahalo my friend.
I apologize for my outburst, I truly am a humble being. The pain in my heart, for the atrocities carried out worldwide in the name of greed and power overflows at times. I Wish they all believed that No One can own the land, the land owns us.... Mahalo
i'm a mainland born samoan. my best friend - Hawaiian brother comes from Hawaii. hearing this reminds me of him and his family. so many memories growing up here in the states. because of him, i learned how to play the guitar. hearing songs like this just remind me of his mom and her siblings....and their accents lol. now that i live in Arizona, visiting my Hawaiian family is a treat for me and my kids. being a hanai boy to my Hawaiian mom is quite prestigious if you ask me.
This is my Going Out music i play and sing before heading almost anywhere... Most fun song to sing EVAH, all the way through Jack Johnson with the kids! Mahalo Cruz Family and PFC for the best projects!
This video Always gets me up in Spirit. The voices are amazing and so harmonious. The guitars are rad. They All seem so Happy. Love all the Beautiful Smiles. Love coming back every so often to get Lifted up. THANK YOU ALL!! Wish I could Hug you all
No, you're not the only one. We are transplants back to Orlando area. Still love this music and bring back so many wonderful memories for me. Enjoy this once again. Aloha
D'ran Dana I cant agree more on that. We’re over crowded with foreigners who fail to understand and respect the amount of work it takes to upkeep our island home and our dying culture. If you can’t care for your own land, stay off of ours. Because “appreciating” the beautiful island, and actually changing your life and trying to change the views around you is what’s actually gonna keep our islands beautiful. Not people coming here and causing more trash and pollution.
I have been to 6 continents and over 70 countries. I have lived in Europe, North America and in the middle east. I was lucky enough to live in Hawaii for 4 years, simply the best years of my life. Lots of love to my Hawaiian ohana. Mahalo
Born and raised on Maui and so proud of where I came from! I spread aloha daily and think about my home every 5 minutes for real! So righteous, so pono, so beautiful. Mahalos for perpetuating this amazing culture that we created in Hawaii cheeeeeehuuuu
This is my happy song. My greatest gift was a childhood in Hawaii nei. Thank you Maui for everything you provided, we are doing our best to care for you too!
Hawaii is pure pure ....I was so welcomed since I was a lil kid in Argentina I always wanted to go there I was finally able to go last year and I have never felt so much love from the ppl to the land like I did in Hawaii... I camped every day for a month all over Big Island and was welcomed everywhere Hawaiins kept telling me you not leaving lol is like they knew I didn't want to leave they kept telling me the land welcomed me😥..I felt connected to everything more than anywhere else I been to ...thank you Hawaii Thank you Hawaiians such a vibe so much aloha...this song makes me feel like I'm still there thank you Mahalo🙏🤙🤙💙🤍💙
Gotta keep the Hawai'ian traditional strong!!! Every Polynesian Islands from New Zealand, Tonga, Fiji, Samoa, etc still keeping the tradition strong by talking with their native language. In the Hawai'ian Islands you never here anyone speaking Hawai'ian and that's sad. We gotta continue speaking Hawai'ian. We need to educate our children and have them speak Hawai'ian. Don't let our native traditional be lost. We need more videos like this and we need to bring back Hawai'ian study's to the public schools. Mahalo nui loa for this inspiring video.
Im not Hawaiian but I think its some of the most beautiful music in the world. It should be mandatory that the native language be taught in schools across all the Islands. Just like in America the native Indian cultures and language be taught in their schools, my schools. I am native Americab Indian- Cherokee. If all the old cultures were taught today and their language and music, this world would be a much better world to live in. More pure and give our young children something to do and look forward to instead of doing drugs and breaking laws and doing bad things. This is why our creator made different cultures n languages I think. Also to keep something within ourselves that is pure and good innocence. I pray you keep doing what you're doing. Its so beautiful. God Bless you and all the people...💕🙏💕🌴
Every time I hear this song I get choked up and cry. This version is the BEST that I’ve heard. I was stationed at Pearl 83-86. Everyone thought I was a local. BEST three years of my life and I’m 62 now. Blessed to be going back to visit in 4 days.❤🤙🏼🤙🏼
This song touches the deepest reaches of my soul! Good job folks!! Solid!! I'm trying to teach our kids our lineage. We have in Hawaii. Our culture is important to us. I cry when I think about what has been lost. Everytime I look at our cities here in Hawaii and how much damage it has done to our families, it breaks my heart. Awareness is one step forward!
Same same - I am in tears when I hear this song, both because Im so proud of my home but also so sad to see it drifting away. Our parents taught the local ways and culture - that was before the internet. Now everyone is in a rush to be the same and chase the same mainland culture. The people and local culture are what make the islands special and its fading. Cherish it while we can.

Thank you Playing for Change for bringing these gems into the world, what a wonderful project, uniting us through music! The beauty of it makes me cry! I have listened to this so much that I've learned the lyrics, even though I'm on the other side of the world and not related in any way to the beautiful Polynesian culture...
White people do have culture, we just are blind to it. Some of it is nice. Some of it is terrible. When you travel the world you can recognize it better. You'll see it someday!
I love Hawaii and the original Hawaiian spirit of the people, but sadly some Hawaiians have become bitter towards other people who like their lifestyle and brotherhood instead of educating and teaching others how to have the same. It is ironic and sad. We should all spread the love and caring. That is what this group seems to be trying to do. Thank You for this truly beautiful video.

Love you guys so much. Thank You for bringing such beautiful songs and scenery for all to enjoy. Thank You once again.
Thank you Playing for Change for bringing these gems into the world, what a wonderful project, uniting us through music! The beauty of it makes me cry! I have listened to this so much that I've learned the lyrics, even though I'm on the other side of the world and not related in any way to the beautiful Polynesian culture...
Thank You. Never grew up with a culture, but I can relate to all these wonderful people. Even though I'm a white boy.
you'd be family here with that attitude
White people do have culture, we just are blind to it. Some of it is nice. Some of it is terrible. When you travel the world you can recognize it better. You'll see it someday!
This is not to discount the last bit - the Hawaiian culture is also great. All the cultures alround the world are beautiful in their own unique ways.
How wonderful and beautiful and diverse our planet is!
Bless up! This song and this performance take me to a time and place I've never been to, specifically, but have a lot of nostalgia for. Mahalo.

Beautiful voices
I play this blessing 3 times a week here in Redfern Sydney at 6.20am
Thank you
Hawaii is simply wonderful with the happiest people
You never talked to a keiki o ka `aina. Ask him about being happy about losing his kingdom.
I love this song. I am not Hawaiian, but I lived there for four years and I appreciate all of their Hawaiian traditions. I also love Iz's music.
