Should you stay in Downtown Las Vegas? The Fremont Street Experience isa place you must visit, but it has both its pros and cons, such as cheaper food, cheaper drinks, crazy street performers, and sketchy areas. Just stay in the touristy areas and you're good. Hope you enjoy!

We're from the UK and visited LV a couple of weeks ago, I just wanted to thank you for all the tips you've givenin all your videos, it really helped us choose where to go (and where to avoid!) - in particular we weren't aware of the Chinatown part and had some lovely meals there, so thank you for that. We found Freemont a bit 'much' for us and didn't really enjoy that part of town to be honest - especially the big old lady with her t*ts out asking for money. But we did like Nacho Daddy at the end of Freemont. One little thing we found was that the regular margarita at the Filament bar in the Freemont Casino is literally the best I've tasted in over 30 years of loving the drink. Oh and Katy Perry was amazing!! Thanks again.
As a local, and long time fan of Old Vegas: This was very well done!
I love downtown! The live music and vibes are always on point. Circa is my favorite but what I love most is how downtown reminds me of how Vegas used to be.
I had so much fun downtown Vegas. I recommend women wearing some type of fanny pack or a crossbody purse/bag. Don’t let it just hang off your shoulder. You need to watch your stuff. There’s some sketchy people down there. But it’s a lot of fun. Drinks are stronger and cheaper. I like to people watch.
Also, if you get a Las Vegas Advisor coupon book, it has a coupon that takes resort fees out for up to five nights at The Downtown Grand! 😀 Hopefully the CHAT doesn't get SMUSHED on the next livestream. 😆
That's a great tip. 👍
How you score those?
@@fenner1122you buy it from them. They also report on resort fees and parking fees on their channel here. Binions has no resort fee.
I lived downtown for years and worked at the Plaza for 3 years. I am amazed how much it has changed. I am totally satisfied with what Norma has explained the changes.
Always love DT. Better class of peeps. Sunday night after the NASCAR race was a blast! Bands everywhere, knuckleheads from Tennessee playing craps while sunburnt and way overdrunk. Stuff like that.
El Cortez is 21 & older too. 👍
The Lady Luck was our favorite place to go to. We got married in Vegas and stayed there all the time. Freakmont Street has changed alright, that's why we call it that. I do prefer it to the strip though. We now live here and love it. And can I say you are just so adorable.
I just came back from 3 days in Vegas, been 3 times before and this fourth time was the worst. Freezing cold, strip was dead and quiet by 9PM, and EVERYTHING WAS A RIP OFF. Also all the drivers and locals were pissed off at the disruption of the F1. I paid $40 USD for 3 mile rides in Ubers. Vegas has gone downhill bad
Wow, did not even mention the El Cortez Hotel and Casino! Best Casino in downtown. Thanks for sharing!
They don't allow any kind of video cameras or smartphones. Probably why she left it out. I love it too, and stay there.
I stayed downtown for the first time on my last trip in August. The D was super fun and affordable! I’m going to stay at Golden Nugget next month!
Hopefully we aren’t on strike!
I am so very hopeful the casinos pay up sooner then later 😬 F1 could become more of a mess then it already is
@@benboyer3894 yeah, it’s all planned out. The casinos on the strip are in negotiations right now, which basically bullies them to come to a deal because they will lose so much money if they can’t operate during F1. Golden Nugget will be in negotiations leading up to Super Bowl since that is a very busy time for them, so you should be good for next month at the Nugget. They won’t even be negotiating yet.
We are coming in February, staying downtown at The Plaza so I appreciate you covering some of the cool stuff there! We got married in Vegas in 2015 so we will be celebrating our anniversary. 🎉😊🎉 Thanks so much for making cool, fun videos 🥰
I'll be back in February as well but for the Rock n Roll Running Series! Happy Anniversary in advance and safe travels!
How was the plaza?
I love the Downtown Grand! My sister-in-law stayed in the augmented reality room and we took advantage of a lot of their deals while she was there. 👍
Hi Lydia
I have stayed at Main Street Station Hotel and casino in the Fremont Street area, and I highly recommend it. The Mob Museum in the area is a must-see for anyone who loves history!
Norma, great video. All your videos are packed with info.. Been watching/subscribed since you first started and you really grew your channel to being one of the best that covers Vegas!
"Is it summer yet?" I sooooooo get it!
New member! one of the best video's you have produced, I have been marathoning all your old ones. They don't come close. Last 2 weeks really uped the bar. Excellent content
Another great video! Thanks Norma.
I prefer downtown. The bars, atmosphere, walking distance between casinos and cheaper food and beverages make it a great place to stay.
I remember Fremont Street from the 70's as a kid. My parents always had better luck there than on the strip so that's where we'd stay in Vegas. I have to admit, my luck has been demonstrably better in the downtown casinos. Your luck may vary, of course.
Thanks for taking me a long, Norma!!
Great tour of what Downtown has to offer! Thanks Norma!
Thank you Norma !! The last couple times I was in Vegas - I skipped downtown. I do remember seeing Melinda and her magic show at the Lady Luck back in 1995. Times do change. Thank you so much again for all you do. Looking forward to Vegas on December 3rd !! 😅
Downtown is so much fun. Great video as always!
That last shot of you drinking the most over the top tropical drink in a thick winter coat is so hilarious!
Thank you Norma for this great informative video
Agreed, Until F1 chaos is over……downtown is the place to be!!
Thanks Norma. Perfect timing cause I wanted to get into wine. Hopefully I find something I like. Have a great weekend
I've watches a zillion videos preparing for my visit in December... but yours are my favorite!
Great video. Downtown has changed a lot and you explained it well. Visitors should definitely come and see the old casinos, totally different vibe from the Strip.
I love the live bands and entertainment on Fremont, and it's always a good time. I'm pretty chill though, so I've never actually stayed downtown. After seeing how quiet and away from the madness of Fremont St. the Downtown Grand is, I just might give it a try next time. Another thing I like is how all the casinos are smushed together, so it's so easy to get around. Thanks for all the helpful information. Really great job Norma!! 🌠
Whoa it’s really nice to show us at downtown… it is a very awesome! Thank you, Norma! 🥰
We love Fremontstreet! Halloween was great and the cocktails at the Carouselbar were delicious! Thanks for the awesome vlogs! Greetings from the Netherlands!
Thanks for the video. Saw some familiar places as well as a lot of new places that I would like to go see on my future visits to Vegas.
Great 📷 video Norma! Like Downtown Vegas! I didn't realize that there are so many affordable Food 🥑 Options! Definitely more Chill than the Strip!
Love your videos ,thank you norma .vegas so lucky to have you❤
Norma Geli back with another banger!!!
Hi Norma, great video. OK, now I want to visit downtown again. I enjoy walking under the Viva Vision it's cool and like gaming at Circa. Those were some amazing rooms at the Downtown Grand. I still want to take advantage of the dinner deals at Tony Roma's one day. Visiting downtown is something I do occasionally because I enjoy the Las Vegas Strip more. Smooshed.
The UA-camrs make it more fun here!
NORMA another great video, THANKS FOR INVITING US ALOMG ON YOUR JOURNEY... always a class act, great job...😏
Enjoyed the video Norma. So much work goes into your videos. Informative & entertaining. No “smooched chat” ha ha
Great video and timely since I will be out there soon! That hot dog and PBR special at the Downtown Grand is a game changer because they had never had a quick easy snack option before. Between that and the new food court across the street, there are some nice additions. I am also looking forward to checking out those two new bars at the Plaza. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks again Norma! I’m still new to Downtown Vegas and only visited 3 times. The prices seem more reasonable and affordable. Next time I visit, I plan to watch your video again. It’s really helpful. I love the downtown vibe, seems more down to earth and laidback. I don’t have to dress to impress. I can get a nice hearty meal for dirt cheap. Get a few cheap beers from the souvenir shops. And a snack and I’m a happy dude. Good for people watching, free entertainment yo, lit! 🔥Take a bus on back to the strip and call it a night eh! But I’m down to walk from the strip to downtown, but maybe start early in the morning with pit stops, never tried it though. No I’m not Canadian. 😀
Love it, I've been to downtown Las Vegas and enjoyed it, though my favorite is the strip! You always come up with original ideas for these videos, can't wait for the next one 🙂 and, you're still very beautiful, always 🙂
Your videos are the best ever......keep on doing what you do great.......
Thank you for caring n telling the people not to stray to far from the main areas n to know their surroundings.another words stay safe.
My wife and I are about to take our teenage son (15 years old) for our first trip to Vegas next month, your videos have been SUPER helpful. Thank you!
We enjoy your videos and the excitement you bring to all of us, showing Las Vegas the way it is.
Keep up the great work. It takes work to create any UA-cam videos….Aloha
Thank u for every thing you do , love ur videos keep them coming
Norma, you ain't that old. Remember Freemont street with traffic! My my!
A trip to Vegas is never complete without a night on Fremont Street...assuming you stay on the strip. Back in the 90's we stayed at the tropicana and downtown was..rough is a good word. Throughout the 2000's though we wouldn't miss it. Nice vid, Norma!
We stayed at the Plaza pre-COVID and our room overlooked Freemont which was super cool.
Awesome video!! ❤
Glad to see this video. If you remember, this is when my wife and I met you in Fremont. In fact, Angie is playing video poker in the background when you are at the bar at The Grand. We love your channel.
Another great and informative video. It’s very different than the Strip!! Also, Mob museum is cool especially the Speak Easy!! At least today you can read the comments!!!!😂😂
I will be Sunday November 5 in Downtown Las Vegas, staying at the 4 Queens. I love Downtown. I'm coming to Las Vegas since 1977. The changes since then are incredible. I love your Vegas reports Norma. Great job.
Great video as always Norma! We love staying both on strip and downtown. The Downtown Grand is one of our favorites. Very clean, quiet rooms. Carson Kitchen and Oscar's are the best restaurants in downtown.
Downtown is great! It's definitely not for everyone though. If your into partying, drinking, live music, ppl watching, street performers, etc than you will love it! Technically everything is a little cheaper there, however I have noticed since the F1 race was announced for Vegas, the drink comp minimums for casino bars has gone up and bartenders on fremont st are more strict about drink comps. It is totally awesome when they have well known bands playing live!
I love Fremont Street. That's where all the fun is at..
I appreciate you and thank you for making content.
We saw you on Fremont St filming this video! I wanted to say Hi but we were getting our caricature drawn! Lol
I watched a bunch of your videos before our trip (it was our first time in Vegas!) Thanks for making these!
Love it Norma!
Love the video, still haven’t been to Fremont yet but mostly definitely be goin next trip, all the fees can be a lil crazy, BUT LAS VEGAS IS THE NUMBER 1 PLACE TO SO MANY THINGS TO DO THERE KEEP U THE GOOD WORK NORMA, CAN WE GET A 24 hour LUXOR OR EXCALIBUR VIDEO
Hi, wow its been 3 years the last time I saw one of your Vegas videos, I'm glad to see you again 👍
8:15 Please note that you mentioned free parking when eating at one of their establishments. And you have a picture of the PBR hot dog deal in the background. You need to spend $25.00 in order to get validated parking.A combo special won't do it
Way to go Norma I give you like because I enjoy it
Have stayed at the Golden Nugget the last couple of times going to LV, always had a good time.
I go to Vegas once a year and have never stayed downtown but I will now! Thanks so much for this video
Thanks for doing something on downtown. We’re coming in December and staying downtown for the first time.
My husband and I love downtown Las Vegas. We always stay at the Golden Nugget. Thanks for your vlog!
Wow, so much to impact here. Moved here just about a week ago. Didn't know vegas had this much to offer. Thanks for sharing.
The wifey and I always appreciate and look forward to your content
Going downtown since the revitalization of downtown-Definitely. Watching SnowBunny Norma-A absolute must.
Saying that I do miss Glitter Gulch, The Las Vegas Club-(I had three close lady friends who worked in reservations)-The Golden Gate $.99 cents shrimp cocktails, and the active train station in back of the Plaza.
hell yeah downtown Vegas my favorite you should do more downtown Vegas videos lol
My favorite part of Fremont from spring to fall they have free concerts from bands that have put out albums and now the plaza hotel and casino are having bands play at it's comedy club like dirty honey is set to play this November the G.A tickets are $30 bucks not bad better than the big strip would change
Thank you Norma....Ive never stayed downtown and haven't been there for years...I would definitely give it a try
Right past the uber commercial Fremont Street Experience is a pretty decent part of Downtown, with some decent bars and eats. I'm also a big fan of the Arts District, altho this area does tend to go almost vacant on the streets once nightfall hits. The restaurants there still do solid business tho.
Nice to see downtown get some love on here, I had a blast hanging out there last week. Had my birthday dinner at Oscar's and headed over to Hogs and Heffers, so much fun there. 🎂 🥳 🎉
Great video!
Great video Norma i always stay in downtown. Love Aloha Specialties great food. Thank you for sharing and great info as well.
I remember being on Fremont Street in my first trip in 1986. It was bizarre then--it's even more bizarre now! Thanks for another great, informative video Norma. Wow, three videos in one week--counting your new Life of a Norma Geli video and your members-only video. Then, there's your livestream Monday. Keep up the great work! Just don't get smushed!!!
Uncle played 21 at the El Cortez when an atom bomb exploded. Went out on Fremont and watched it rise. The picture of the mushroom cloud is on the postcards! He then went back to the 21 table.
My friends and I love to play roulette at the four queens love their bar love how it’s open to the Fremont Street. It’s just a cool vibe.
Damn I’m early for once after staying at work for OT lol. Keep up the great content 🤙🏽
I just recently started following you and i was wondering if you do this full time? I enjoy your videos by the way! 👍🏽👍🏽
(I know you can read Spanish so… hahaha) Saludos y un beso. Cuídate! 😉
Thank you so much for your videos, they are so helpful . When i come to las Vegas. ❤😊
Great 👍 tips 😊
OMG Mija G got Ube! 😍
I took my grandmother to Fremont street. It was so much fun!
I am planning to going back to some historical significant hotel and sites.
I LOVE Fremont!! I LOVE TLC Properties (4 Queens, Binion's, Hotel Apache) - they've ALWAYS given me exceptional service, and the comps I've received from them were above and beyond ANYTHING I got on the strip - just for the feedback I left them!
The tables and slots really DO seem to be looser than on the Strip. The staff are open and inviting. Security is quick and responsive.
The restaurants are really good (Magnolia's, Evel Pie, Dirt Dog, Oscar's Steakhouse, Pink Box Donuts, and on and on...), and there's SO much to DO that in a 4 day stay, you may not even MAKE it to the Strip!
The Mob Museum is so cool, and the Container Park, and Neonopolis (The Cat's Meow Karaoke, Indoor Go-Kart Racing, Bowling and arcade, and even a wedding chapel!) - One of the coolest places I've ever been to!
But, and this isn't for EVERYONE, It's a stone's throw from Hogs & Heifers - the coolest saloon I've EVER been to!
I was drawn into the place by one of the bartenders (all female) shouting at me, "Hey, B___H! Get your sexy A__ IN HERE"!
Being Transgendered, I couldn't resist THAT siren call! The girls were brassy, bold, and SO much fun!
I'm heading back up to LV in July - TLC has comped me 2 tix to the Mike Hammer Comedy show, drink vouchers, and a 'Ghost Hunting' kit. Yeah! I'm gonna be at Hotel Apache!!
I LOVE Fremont Street!!
Stayed in Rm 1 @ the Golden Gate.
Small but historic! First hotel room in Vegas I suppose!
I'm glad you're showing off the downtown grand. That place is one of my gotos downtown.
❤🎉 you guys are awesome making these videos I was there in August and October and I'm coming back out in March awesome place so fun just nobody ever go out there in October because all the roads on the main strip are so messed up you got to go all kinds of different way and you get lost just trying to find what you're looking for it LOL besides that though it was so fun especially Fremont Street everything is there it's awesome you all have a great holiday
Winning on a Slot Machine downtown went out when they put in places to sit down beside in front of a Slot Machine, 1990's.
Best time to go is at night to really appreciate the show up top. And the mob museum is a block away! Coming back December and like always, looking forward to it!
Norma , You also need to vet your places better. The Downtown Cocktail room is average at best. This isn't a troll post ,it's information your viewers would really want to know before going
1. A 20% service charge is added to EVERY bill
2. A 3% fee is charge for using a credit card
3.They do not include any premium liquor for happy hour, all house cocktails are made with cheapest brand of liquor
4. The "nosh" is limited to nuts/olives/pretzels/pickle on a stick. All from national food wholesaler
The special on Beer/wine is decent ,but you need to be more critical for your viewers.Another warning to a place is sort of "phony happy hours".A downtown place that needs to have HH from open to 8pm every day is concerning to me.
I've been there ,and enjoyed the atmosphere ,and reasonable drink prices ,but they lost me at the techno DJ music at 9:00pm. Sort of lost the "speak easy" vibe you mentioned.
Speakeasy ,and DJ should never be used in the same sentence.
I'd love to hear your comments
2 dollar pbr and hot dog looks great. I also like the whiskey and beer deal you showed. That mikes aperol with a 100 bill looked cool im ordering one.
I might have to do downtown next year if F1 returns. Thanks Norma for the tip.
Thanks Norma ❤
This past weekend, my buddy and I came in for a cigar show at Resort World and stayed at The D for the first time. We had a great time. My wife and I usually stay at The Mirage. But The D was great I would recommend it for sure!
i do remember going on Fremont in the 70's when you could drive down the middle. It was cool
