@@NBSWELDING, Because of your use and review of this machine, I just bought one. And, I used your discount code too.
Thank you for all of the time you put into creating your videos!
You did a fine job on explaining what this machine can do with aluminum more so than any other channel out there doing reviews on this same machine. If you watched one you pretty much watched em all . None of em show or explain in great detail the different functions of this machine. Your videos have been a great help to me in understanding all of it processes. Thankyou.
Glad it was helpful!
Hello
I am looking to buy a multiprocess welder. Miller ac/dc 220 is my first choice because of miller reputation, but much more explansive. Arccaptain seems to be a nice cheaper alternative. For a hobby welder like me, do you think it is a logical choice? Part availabilty, reliability etc? Thanks.
How 'bout Tig on stainless steel? Thanks brother you've pretty much sold me this machine. I'm looking at it for mostly Tig, and stick. I live down here in alligator country and these shrimp boats are always breaking stuff. I'm mostly just go down to the dock and plug this in and fix it while they unloading. I used to be a Pipefitters/ Boilermaker. Car wreck messed that up but I want to do something disability starving me these day. Anyway thanks again and God bless you brother. BTW. I aint never liked squirt guns but they have their place. God bless
Thanks for sharing, C.B.! You always catch stuff from our customers that we miss, and your answers from a pro welder's point of view are top-notch. So nice of you!
Right on...thanks for all the cooperation...appreciate ya'll at ARCCAPTAIN
I’m gonna order some more items off your link bossman for my mig 200, might scoop a spool gun as well. Thanks for your videos brother
So nice of you CB 😂
good work
Thanks
That was another great video. I'm so glad you brought that up about inverters not running pipe rod. I've been struggling with my Miller Sychrowave 210 and 5P+. It also runs 6011 better like the
ArcCaptain. I thought it was just me! You made my day.
Right on
I have a MiG 200 like your, and learned MiG fairly well. I have a miller 210 millermaticthat welds so easy set on 3 and about 30 to 40 to 45 on wire speed. Can’t stick weld yet, but going to learn. Like to hang out with you one day and let you show me. I got and old Lincoln that they call a gas tank with big wheel you roll to change up and down on your temp. They say one of the best old a/c d/c welders out there. Love to watch your shows ky.
Thanks for watching and commenting...I'm not giving any personal lessons now but maybe someday...my current insurance doesn't allow me to do personal instruction...don't know if I'll ever get into that or if I can afford it
I've been wondering about doing more instructional videos though
Lots of good info. Thanks for taking the time CB

Thanks for sharing your expertise on welding with MiG 200...followed your initial videos on setup and operation and was welding in no time...I love the machine
Great to hear!
Thanks for tips boss. I haven’t run aluminum in years and needed the tips on dirty aluminum 👍
Glad to help
CB, thank you for the time and information that you put into this video.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
⚡️you have created the #1 “real life”, easy to follow, informative & understandable #Welding content on #UA-cam!
I also recently picked up my first bottle of argon and a 2lb roll of 5xxx series wire. I haven’t even finished the video yet but I’m super excited to get back out in the shop after watching it!
Thanks 👍
I am sure glad I caught this video, my Arccaptain MIG200 will arrive in a couple of days and after watching one poor review after the several positive's, I was questioning my choice. I ordered it after returning another brands 180 that I purchased after having such good results with their 225, I noticed yours on the bench.
Your in depth review and real time demonstration of it's ability's has resolved my doubts. I know your skills have much to do with the results, and I appreciate both you and the machine. The demo of it's ability to stick weld is also what helped to convince me on my 225, I ran thru 5 -10lb. boxes of 1/8" & 5/32nd rods on a project and decided it was a keeper. LOL!
The company is lucky to have you backing their products.
Thanks for the review, now on to see more of your videos.
Thanks...check out the other videos...like, comment, share, and ring the bell to get notifications when I post...every little bit keeps the channel going
@@NBSWELDING 👍✌
Nice weld positioner you have that I noticed when you were trying out the 6011 rod.
5P+ and Pipeliner are a hard combination to beat. Hard to beat those Pipeliners.
thanks for taking your time and giving us that info
You bet
Great information on welding dirty aluminum thank you

That table is freaking incredible! You should do a video of taking a magdrill and making setup holes in the table for fixtures.
I don't use any holes for fixtures...I just tack weld stuff the the table and cut it loose when I'm done
Yes
What a versatile little rig that is
Works beautiful thank you for your time to make this video I’ll be talking to you soon about those shirts
Cheers from Nova Scotia
Tina told me she has sent the price info to your email...check on it
Thanks again for the info CB

Really enjoy your content, good stuff!
Awesome review CB 👌🏼 I’ve been very happy with my mig200 , one thing ya didn’t mention is the settings for pre and post flow for ur gas, and I believe it has a hot start setting also, off top my head I think ya hold the second button on the right down before ya turn the machine on and when it comes on ya can cycle thru diff settings that I mentioned and a few more , it’s in the instructions book , but a lot of the reviews you see on the mig200 no one mentions that 👌🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I need to goof with that some...I haven't done that yet
some new little inverters now have a separate 6010 port, or have a 6010 setting. I have a little everlast, On 6010 mode it runs like a hot damn with 5p+, it will even run a bead in pipe. Those arc captain machines do look awesome though I am interested in the tig 200.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
tips for welding aluminum with a mig. Def 5356 wire also a teflon liner instead of the steel spiral liner and use a contact tip one size larger than the wire . Ive been using my SP-180 plus for over 15 years welding aluminum with it .And it has always worked good .
Good info
Wow. Pretty consistent beads! I'd like to weld like that...
great video
Thanks!
Hey CB, the Fronius Transteel 2200 has a liner specifically for running aluminum through a mig gun. I bet dimes to dollars a guy like you could make it fit into that Arc Captain and make it work. Just sayin.... and I would bet the synergic mode would work with that application. Thanx for today's learnification.👍
Nice video man! Thanks
I've saw one of these machines run 5p+ where it did about like the 6011. It would be tolerable on something small that needed full pen. In a few welds, but if I had to do it all day it would drive me nuts, as any welder who takes pride in his work. It would do just fine till I could use it to make enough money to get a better machine, just like, I hate 6013s, but if that's all I had. Well let's use them to make money to get 7018s. God bless, and work safe. My friend.
Right on 👍
CB ya gotta get ahold of the arc captain people again and have em send you their new cutters, they gots a cut 55 and 55 pro I seen and they looked ten times better than the cut 50 one I got man. I bet they would want you to review em plus you prolly like em. I seen a guy using the cut 55 go thru half “ plate like it was literally nothing and CLEAN bro
👍
It has arc force and hot start settings as well. Hold down the two right buttons I believe for that to come up
Thanks...I've never messed with that
Thanks, good tips on aluminum. NBS is a very fitting name for your business. 👍👍LOL
Great video! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Question...
When's the most Handsome Welder on the internet Pageant.? I'd like to watch it.😁
Nice job 👍
Good question!
I use a thermal arc 211i. Mostly for mig. Tried a dozen 6010 on the machine just to see it did real good. I only have 300+lbs of 6010😂😂
Never use up in a lifetime 😁
Thanks for the info!
I'm glad I watched this one CB.
I noticed how you don't have any craters at the termination of your aluminum welds. How can I stop this from happening to me? Thx for this !
Are ya pulling the nozzle away before the puddle is cool? ....it needs shield gas on it until it's cool
@NBSWELDING bingo!!! Thank you! Greatly!!
Yessir....anytime Buddy!
Great informative video. Handsome with NBS.
So nice of you
great video...thank you indeed ! 🙂🍀🍀
Thank you too!
You can change de arc force on the settings of the arcaptain mig200 they are in the handbook
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Hey try swapping your liner out for grafene liner for aluminum in your mig gun
👍
Good video. Noticed that welding with spoolgun, there was a bluer color and less violent both in sound and visible spatter. Maybe different source of gas?
Dunno...argon gas from the same tank with spoolgun & standard MIG gun
Different filler???
Ive got an amico power 180 and it runs 6010 great will even root pipe
Please reply with a link to a video showing that machine rooting pipe with 6010....that's a must see
Thanks!
Thank you Sir I appreciate your support 👍
@NBSWELDING well I appreciate your help.
☺️
Most inverters with the exception of the( titanium stick welder and a hand full of others) want run 6010 properly due to the low open circuit voltage.
Yessir 👍
Thanks for sharing God speed 🙏
Great video. A 6011 is a great trash/ rust rod. Just a suggestion don't know how you do aluminum. On trash aluminum a wire wheel and brake cleaner makes a big difference. I always spray down aluminum with brake cleaner before I weld it. Just a suggestion.
Although I do like 6013 where most don't for trash/rust rods, because it fills in better than 6011, just has more flux.
I winder if they make a flex tip for the spoolgun. Hard to beat a spoolgun with a flex tip.
Please research the dangers of using brake cleaners with welding...if you are doing that you are taking a serious risk to your health...when you heat brake cleaner with a welding process that includes argon gas and breath those fumes you are creating a poision that can kill you
@@NBSWELDING yeah I hear that all the time. Most don't realize that is from one study that was disproved. Brake cleaner no longer has that particular chemical in it any more, because the Government made it illegal to use in the early 2000's. Plus brake cleaner evaporates with no residue.
But hey people are going to think what they want, and keep old irreverent information in circulation.
I see you have a few welders bro 😎
Yes...been working on my collection for decades
😎.
🙂
I use mostly 6013 what's your thoughts on them
They are fine and run good on almost all machines...7014 is good...7018 is strongest if your machine will run it
Hey CB, I've never welder brocken down yet but towards the end of your weld it looks like you go from an upward rod angle to straight in and then it looks like you get a slight push angle. Is that what's happening or is it just how it looked on the camera? I thought with SMAW you were always supposed to drag.
Normally drag or maintain a right angke but there are times in the vertical up position that you may use a push angle....vertical up is about the only time a push angle would be good with stick.
MIG welding is often push and MIG aluminum should always be push
@@NBSWELDING Thanks CB!
I just got my mig200. It only came with one extra contact tip. Saw what you mentioned about the HF. I pretty much only use 0.30 wire, do they sell a pack of just that size? Or do you have to buy the assortment?

Sorry I meant the ones you got at harbor freight
@@jackwebb5917 O-gotcha....yea they sell packs of just one size

Just a thought caz I wanna run a smaller welder off of big miller but I wonder if you could plug a surge protector like for campers into the mullet and then run the arc captain
Where I'm from a mullet is a type of haircut...I don't know what a mullet plug is but I don't see why a surge protector would be necessary if you have a welder outlet then that outlet will have a fuse or breaker on it....you should be able to plug the MIG 200 into the 110 or 220 outlet on the welder no problem.
@@NBSWELDING yea your saying the miller surges so you can’t run the tig or inverter on it so if the surge protector keeps at a normal range!! You said miller said it spikes and the inverter welders won’t run just thought that would keep it from spiking and I’m from southeast Kentucky and just recently cut my mullet!!!
Maybe I missed it, but what is the brand and model of that spool gun?
ARCCAPTAIN....tap the link below...when that takes you to the ARCCAPTAIN site tap the three horizontal dash bars at the upper left...thaen tap accessories...the spoolgun will be the first thing comes up...they only have one model

Will do, thank you!
C.B., can you use that spatter control spray on Aluminium?
I wouldn't...never tried it but I'd assume it would contaminate
We use to change liners for Al, stainless and steel ran bigger wire slower with stainless than steel, I just remember what the guys were doing that welded Al, better welds with the spool gun, years ago I welded Al with arc, don’t remember a lot about it
Thanks for watching and commenting
I've been watching more reviews of the Arccaptain mig 200 ever since I watched yours. On reading some of the comments, it's seems there are folks claiming the amp output isn't what it is claimed to be. I've seen folks ask that question, but I have yet to see where the reviewer has answered. Would you happen to know if the Arccaptain mig 200's output is what it is claimed to be?
I don't have any way to test exact amps during welding but when I tried to burn the machine down in the part 2 of my original review I proved that the ARCCAPTAIN MIG 200 has far more power than would be needed for any welding job on the planet...I burned 3/16" 7014 high deposit rods until I could smell the coating burning off of the cables and the machine had no power loss or damage...you simply cannot expect more than that at this price
ua-cam.com/video/64bm3UoyW80/v-deo.htmlsi=fHUtezXiFhwTgcWn
@@NBSWELDING Yes sir. Part 2 popped up as a suggested video in my feed ( i guess thats what ya call it) then I sought out part 1 several days later. Dang sure made me want one, so I sought out more reviews. Those comments in those reviews, lead to the question I ask about the max amps. Thanks for going the extra miles on the reviews and fir the reply.
Thanks CB. good info, well done.
Do you notice any substantial difference with the new mig gun compared to the old?
Just a first impression because I haven't used it a lot but it definitely feels heftier, fits in hand better and with the extra mass to it the gun didn't get hot even when I was pretty steady runnin that aluminum wire
Thanks CB,
@@NBSWELDING
When changing over from MIG to Spool gun do you wind the MIG wire back on the roll or just cut it and throw it out?
Where can I get the insert to weld aluminum. Ky

Can you tig weld stainless steel. On the arc captain.
Yes you definitely can
There’s a setting on your phone to darken the screen while videoing and we can see you welding better.
It’s for taking pictures or videoing in bright sunlight.
I've tried that many times but never had any luck
You Rock
👍
As always, really enjoyed your video, but... We need YOU around to keep putting out great content: PLEASE consider using a proper respirator when welding ALUMINUM! Neglect of this safety parameter could result in acute and long term chronic lung issues, including Parkinsons. Be safe Brother!
The amount of time I spend welding aluminum in the fairly well ventilated environment I do it in is not even close to enough exposure to require the use of a respirator. I'd be taking far more health risks if I ate fast food once a week.
Thanks for your concern
@@NBSWELDING All things considered, and respectfully, that’s an analogy that just doesn’t hold up. Your body can biologically counteract ‘bad’ fast food with reduction and exercise to combat it. Poisonous aerosols contaminate your lung tissues, damages them, crosses the blood/brain barrier and will PERMANENTLY destroy cells, aside from toxicity levels the human body can’t rid itself of. My sister is dying FROM Parkinson’s disease and she was a secretary around a metal fab shop for almost 6 years with improper ventilation, which was the root cause of her diagnoses. But hey, if you think you can combat actual science, god-speed brother. Lungs are pretty hard to replace and even harder to correct as organs… You know best, hope your decision serves you a long life.
How bout running some 6013s
No doubt those would run but I never use them...I'd use 7014 in the place of 6013
Have you tig weld with it yet?
No...I have almost no use for DC TIG in what I do so I've never put a TIG torch on the MIG 200
BUT....I do TIG weld aluminum with the ARCCAPTAIN TIG 200P and since it is setup with a TIG torch I did flip it on DC TIG and weld with it...I welded a couple razor blades together with it using. 035 MIG wire as rod...it did great
6011 is a life saver sometimes. What did you think about the gloves? Could they be a replacement for the Oil X, or a good second choice? Oh, and you might as well just settle for second most handsome welder on the internet.😂
Gloves are very comfortable, flexible, and protective....they have the soft suede type leather on the back that would absorb water & oil though so they'll not replace the Oilshield gloves I like for the wet & greasy field work.
A viewer ask when we were having the most handsome welder pageant...I'm not sure when that is scheduled for yet 🤔
What size rod were you running, what about 7018? I never liked 5p
If I have a dedicated 110volt outlet for the smaller stuff, what amp breaker do you recommend? 20amps?
30 amps would be better but you cannot decide breaker size by your desired amps of draw because the only safe way to determine breaker size is by matching the breaker to the size outlet and wire that is used.
If you have a 30 amp outlet and 10 gauge wire then you can use a 30 amp breaker and you'll have a pretty good high amp 110 volt outlet...however most 110 volt outlets are not rated that high and people mostly run 12 or 14 gauge wire for 110 volt stuff....if you put a 30 amp breaker on 12 gauge wire your taking a risk of causing a fire.
If you can add 10 gauge wire and a 30 amp outlet to your power service then a 30 amp breaker would be fine.
@@NBSWELDING thank you for your prompt reply, much appreciated.
Hi I'm interested in that welding helmet I know you said you like its Arccaptain but whats the model number ?
For ARCCAPTAIN products use this link www.arccaptain.com/?ref=NBSWELDING
Use the link above to go to the site then search helmet then pick the Bloodshed Design Model....you'll recognize it...I don't think any model # is used to pick it
I think it would run those rods if they were not HIGH cellus you would have to give it a wirl anyway i think you are a very smart and EXPERINCED welder it show's
The harbor freight titanium 225 runs 5p" smooth as butter, it runs it as smooth as my sa 200
I have seen videos on that but never ran one...must have high OCV
A lot of good reviews might as well suscribe 😊
Thank you
Did you change the liner before running the Aluminum wire Through the mig gun ?
No...used the liner that it came with
Ok , thanks for the response, I have switched my liners out an it can be a pain in the ass. So I went to a Spool gun , I definitely like your content. From a welder to a welder keep on keeping on 👍
Hey man i don’t know if you’ll see this but I bought the machine a few months ago after watching you and others review it. I was wondering if you’ve ever ran it with a generator. It may be a dumb question. But I see people running MiG 150s and 180s and other welders off one just wondering how it’d do with the 200.
I've ran my MIG 200 off of the generator on the Super Service Truck repeatedly on the channel...works perfectly
@@NBSWELDING Thanks CB, I’ll go check it out. Thankyou for your honest reviews that led me to buying mine. That little things a worker!
To run xx10 electrode you need ocv alt leat 70v . That is your problem
Correct
I agree with you on the clarity of the grind mode on auto-darkening helmets. I wear a Lincoln Viking 3350 and love it but, if I’m doing a lot of grinding, I’ll take it off and put on my Fibermetal clear full face shield. As far as dirty aluminum, it’s satan’s metal! Absolutely EVIL!
Sure is
I only use 6011 welding rods I ain't got time for cat Paw and reindeer games
Right on man I hear ya...thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Wouldn't hurt to clean those welders up 🤔
They aren't that dirty...what's on them is paint overspray...it would take alot of work to remove it
👍
👍
Try it with 6010.. 6010 only works with a good Dc welder..
That's what I did in this video
That is an hour of video so i skip most part, maybe i missed the 6010.. its good if it works well with a 6010. @@NBSWELDING

👍
I'm proud to see someone else that hates 6011 and 6013 I guess people runs 6011 because they're cheaper
If you have any AC machine then 6011 is the only option for a cellulose rod
.08 mm is .30 in , .09 is .35 in and 1.0 mm is .40 in
Is 6011 better to penitrate and weld dirty shit than 7018 for first passes like 6010?
Yes. 6011 is a fanatic rod for dirty material and good penetration. Not quite as much as 6010 but runs a bit smoother in my opinion and I'd rather have 6011 if i could only pick one
6011...ac or dc+
6010...dc+
Lots of welders like to run a first pass of 6010 and then cap with 7018...if your machine won't run 6010 then 6011 is gonna be the best substitute.
The idea would be to just use it to run a quick hot pass without really depositing a lot of material...then clean it off and cap it with 7018 if you really want the strength and crack resistance that you get from 7018
@@NBSWELDING thanks
In my opinion, 6011 gets a bad wrap as a "farm rod" because farmers will weld their stuff in a hurry to get back to business. That means running it through paint, dirt, and rust. The farm and implement paint ain't no joke either... thick stuff. Anyway, the weld inevitably breaks and now it's the rod's fault. 😂 Clean it if you mean it!
Thanx to you I ordered that upgraded mig gun, now that things legit. I guess it’s called twelco or tweel or whatever style, either way the things built like its gonna hood up. The stock whip is just ehhh, Barely enough. I know for a fact their both wayyyy better than the stock whip that comes in the Lincoln baby flux welder I got. That whip is pure shit. Raggedy as hell and if you gotta replace it you gotta go take a couple of booster shots and show em proof, and then they ask you to bend over and drop like 120.00 for another shit replacement whip. Matter of fact, I can order another ARCCAPTAIN welder the MiG 130 shipped to my door is cheaper than me buying a replacement whip for the Lincoln fc90 welder. What a joke and shows ARCCAPTAIN isn’t really just bending folks over
