Just make sure with a spool gun that you jump around letting each weld cool for 3 to 5 minutes to avoid over heating a section. Which keeps your welds from deflatting or sinking and from blowing through or softening the base metal. Spool guns do put out more heat than tig.🧐👍👍
Thanks for the video. I've unloaded my steel spool like that a few times too when I'm switching to my spool gun. I now leave the steel spool in the machine and just back it out enough to clear the gas passage for the gun attachment, then clamp it back down on the guides to prevent the backlash. Unknown if it's different for that machine. Cheers !!!

Looks very good with your new spoolgun. I have 3 welders to do aluminum, 2 do mig and one does spoolgun. Mig/spoolgun aluminum is spray, it should be spray . two things I have learned, turn your gas up to 35-40 cfh and set the inductance at 0 so the cone of spray is short so you don't get burn back into your tip. CTW distance should be 3/4 to 1 inch. Took me a few burnt tips to figure this out. Good luck I am sure you are going to enjoy that spoolgun.

I have the arcaptain mig200 I like it. It welds as good as my miller 142 just a little more splatter with mig mode running 75/25 gas. I bought the spool gun and been practicing aluminum mig. Obviously 100% argon. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

I have a Miller Syncrowave 210 (tig, spoolgun, stick) & also a Millermatic Vintage (mig)....but purchased an ArcCaptain MiG 200 (without spoolgun) for the portability and for my 14 & 15yo boys to use. It does a fine job; only issue/question that I've had, is similar to your wfs being limited. On some of the synergic modes for specific wire diameters, the limits are below where I prefer to run it. Of course, you can switch to manual mig, & get it set where you want.

Dude, you can run an Argon Helium 75/25 so you don't always have that machine maxed out all the time.
I think the one on the right that only goes to 14 is the wire feed speed. Looks like it says M per Min is Meters per Minute.
I got a millermatic 252 and now I want to get a spool gun.

You mentioned that the machine chart recommends 16 m/min but it wouldn’t go that high. On my Lincoln 210MP, there’s a rocker switch inside that you flip over to the spool gun setting and it allows more WFS than when switched to the MIG gun setting. Does the Arc Captain have a similar switch inside? Also, I don’t think you need more WFS anyway based on how it sounds and looks. If anything, I feel like you could turn the voltage up to achieve nearly a full spray mode. With 4043, I like to eliminate nearly all of the snap, crackle and pop. Problem is, it’ll burn back in the tip more often. That’s why the manufacturers always recommend higher WFS’s than what actually runs and looks the best. Thanks for the demo. I actually liked the looks of the spool gun. A lot more professional looking than the Lincoln SG 100 that’s made for my Lincoln 210MP(which actually works just as well as any spool gun I’ve used).
