- DANGEROUS: Do not enter a collapsing structure unless you thoroughly understand and accept both the risk and responsibility!
After sitting for unused for many years, suffering storm damage and slipping into severe disrepair, this old hog barn is going to be taken down. Any worthwhile materials from it will be saved for reuse.
All these years later, this barn still smells faintly of pigs.
This makes me think of my childhood house that will be torn down sometime this week!! The house has seen some better days as you like to say. It's been empty for a few years now. It's an old house. I believe it was built in 1930's. So many good memories in that old little house. Love your videos man!! You, the Key Keeper and Bizarre Furhead are a trip!!!
Cool video. I'm glad that wood is being saved there is nothing like the old stuff. OH! And that's a nice bucket truck outside.
William, to say that I am a bit jealous of your lack of snow and your 65 degree weather would be an understatement. Currently here in New Brunswick Canada we have received another 15 inches of snow, which brings our total snowfall accumulation since December to roughly 9.5 feet. At least we can revel in the fact that we will be able to go sliding in July.
Yep, another 35cm of snow here in Fredericton :(
Neil Robinson Saint John area (Rothesay) here.
85 degree weather here in Georgia (state, not country). Can't really say I am ready for it to be warm again, but mother nature and I tend to disagree quite often.
TheSupercrazyman11 After checking our local news, the official total snowfall to date is 431cm, when translated to American, that would be 14.3 feet. Incidentally there is another 6 inches forecast for tomorrow. Enjoy and cherish your Georgian (state not country) weather.

I couldn't believe it when i read the forecast, more freaking snow for tomorrow.
Its sad to see anything in such disrepair. About three years ago I drove past an old amusement park that my mom used to go to, called Lincoln Park, in Darmouth MA. Almost everything was gone, except for some fire damaged buildings and some parts of rides. There was however, the rollercoaster, called Comet, was my mom's favorite ride. However, the lift hill and other sections were collapsed, but you could still see a lot of the wooden track. They tore the whole thing down a few years ago.
I'd definitely recommend getting the grain cleaner beside the sink out before it gets something dropped on it. It should be worth something to someone. It's used to separate smaller and damaged kernels of grain out and small weed seeds. Someone might want that.
My uncle had an old hip roof barn that he had dismantled a few years back too. He told me that when my Grandma and Grandpa were dating, prior to them getting married, they used to go to barn dances in that barn. When everyone was dancing, the barn used to sway to the music. About 30 years ago or so, it started leaning too, and my Dad and Uncle used cables and turnbuckles to straighten it back up and we did use it for winter storage for many years, until it started to noticeable degrade. Finally it had to come down too. Lots of memories of my childhood in that barn. I miss it.
Now I don’t feel so bad about my barn! Seriously though, looks like it was right nice in its day!
Glad to see a new video of yours UXWBill!! Aand to see your Silverado back on the road.... (What? I like Silveradoes a lot...)
Well, why did you use your Caprice for a small period of time instead of your truck?
***** He doesn't show it, though.
If possible you should snag that dishwasher. With some TLC it might just work, those things are bulletproof
If you could have you should have grabbed the old light bulb still in the ceiling there, might be vintage... Lol
Yeah those are no longer in production anymore, should be worth keeping
Our barns from 1930 have about had it
I can see the Incandescent bulb inside here, what brand name is that and how many watts do they carry?
Well, that barn is definitely not going to be eligible for DSL!
Hey uxwbill this is a little bit off topic but you should do a video about the old forgotten grain truck.
Does that old truck at the farm still run or not anymore? Also what kind of truck is it?
Does the electrical work ?
Wow, it sat empty for a long time. Surprisingly there are some buildings in a condition like this in big cities.
What you are doing now is somthing called Urban Exploring.
If you know what happened to those steel farrowing pens they would be worth some money
+Will Knierim All the metal stuff was recycled.
we had something similar up in the catskills in NY for my grandparents, they fixed up a horse barn on their plot of land up there to a point where the wood was up for the rooms, was being converted into a house for them from 2006-2008 when they ran out of money to get that going. nice barn, shame it was lost. :/
also FYI, I'm gonna have some videos going up soon about some old Sun SPARC-based boxes in a few days, I'm picking them up tomorrow. they might just pique your interest a bit. Sparcstation 2, 4, 10, 20, IPX, a SPARCserver of some sort and a Sun-4/260. we'll see where this goes. :DDDD
Awesome I just subscribed because of that. Also see if you can get the"Java Desktop System" on one, I would love to see that in action!
can you make a few new farm mowing videos and a grain truck explanation video?
I Meant maybe make another video at the farm of doing some mowing and explaining to the other viewers about what happened to the grain truck
I'd like to know what the idea is for building American buildings out of wood is? In Europe we've been building buildings out of bricks and mortar for hundreds of years. Is it because of the cost of the wood vs bricks?
Do you know of a good source for tires for a farmall cub? My friend may need some.
Maybe not, but out of everyone I know of who deals with antique farm equipment to any extent you come closest. I should have new videos coming soon if you're subbed, I'm trying to cut down on my swearing in them (hard habit).
I've explored plenty of abandoned and structurally unsound buildings, and the one piece of advice I have too is BRING A BUDDY. Preferably someone you'd trust with your life.
what year is your impala? i have an 08 good strong case mines at 150k have you had any problems?
***** the craziest thing is 01 to late 09 had a dam good motor but a shit tranny...09 to 14 limited has a awesome 6speed but a shit vvt engine is it so Hard to get both right....
Old decrepit buildings really fascinate me, to think of all the history they have in their walls.
Now i would say that building is well past its sell by date ha ha :D
I would not of entered it, your mad to do so bill, we would not like to see you injured in any way, your a naughty boy lol.
no HD. it's 2015...
Let's just say this: *NOT EVERYBODY WATCHES UA-cam IN HD!! ESPECIALLY ON OLD COMPUTERS!*
American Pickers comes to mind.
Are you going to do anymore tractor videos ?
ok just checking some of those old ones where good
It's sad people need to be reminded to not perform dangerous tasks (such as entering collapsing buildings)
I wonder what happened... Oh wait, it's the existence of "Jackass"
Morons are a universal constant.
That barn is as weak as Playdough...
