  • Florida's six-week abortion ban took effect Wednesday, overriding the 15-week ban that had been in place in the state. CBS News Miami reporter Morgan Rynor has more on the law and the constitutional amendment on abortion that Florida voters will consider in the fall.

fun fact: what is called 6 weeks pregnant actually doesn’t mean you've been pregnant for weeks. it means you could be 4 weeks pregnant, or that you just got pregnant a few days ago. the 6 weeks is just going back to the first day of your last period, when you definitely were ~not~ pregnant.
fertilization generally occurs about 2 weeks ~after~ the date of your last period, so what is called 6 weeks pregnant is, at most, 4 weeks pregnant- IF you have a 28 day cycle. if you have a 35 day cycle, you would be, at most, 3 weeks pregnant when the doc tells you you're 6 weeks pregnant.
but then, implantation of the fertilized egg in the uterus happens 10 days to 2 weeks ~after~ fertilization, and that's when a pregnancy actually starts. so in reality what is called 6 weeks pregnant is around 2 weeks pregnant.
at best, pregnancy tests will show positive 10 days after ovulation, which occurs about 2 weeks after your period.
it is virtually impossible to get an abortion before 6 weeks.

You said a whole lot of nothing regardless if it’s 6 wks or 4 wks or 2 wks it’s enough time to get an abortion if you so very much decide to go that route.

@@EfootballC7 so you're saying that the basic biology of how a pregnancy begins is too much information for you to grasp, and yet you still think you deserve to have input on how the government should be able to police my internal organs.

@@nonya.bizness ppl are acting like they completely banned abortion.. they didn’t there is just a certain time frame ..I understand this topic is very sensitive and the only reason I see an abortion a reason is if you were raped sex trafficked or a minor etc. but other than that if you feel like your old enough to have consensual sex then deal with the consequences if it’s bc oh I don’t think I’m ready or I’m not in a financial place then there are many things out there you can do so you don’t get pregnant.. I just don’t think it’s ok for women to be getting pregnant and be using abortion like some contraceptive when it isn’t.
