- Before Florida’s six week ban went into effect last week, Florida was one of the last places in the southeast United States where a person could get an abortion at all. Now, depending on how advanced their pregnancy is, a person seeking an abortion will have to travel as far as Kansas or Virginia to get the care they need. But law professor and historian Mary Ziegler warns that the anti-abortion movement aims for sweeping, nationwide bans. ‘The ultimate goal for the anti abortion movement is to have the conservative US supreme court say essentially that fetuses are persons under the 14th amendment in the federal constitution’ says Ziegler.

There is NO HEART IN A 6 WEEK OLD FETUS, its a cell structure, the heartbeat is the mothers pulse. GET THIS RIGHT
I’m not sure there’s a heart in abortion supporters either.
I went for a 9 week appointment, and left without getting a "heartbeat" they assured me it wasn't a big deal. My son was born safely, but that was a new experience for me (this was my 2nd child) so it isn't a definitive sign of life. The actual baby being born and taking their first breath is.

Some people have their heart removed and replaced with a pig's heart. What's your point.
It's proven by the scientific method that life begins at conception.
A human fetus is a human being and a human being is a person.
The Constitution clearly states a state cannot make a law depriving a PERSON to the right to LIFE , Liberty and property without due process.
Selective abortion is murder.

The Constitution and the scientific method proves that selective abortion is murder
I started bleeding heavily at 13 weeks during my second pregnancy in 2006. I lost so much blood I couldn't move or speak. They gave me enough fluid that I could put on X on the consent form and rushed me into surgery. I'm so grateful to the doctor that saved my life. I woke up getting a transfusion.
If hospital lawyers had to consult before surgery I just wouldn't be here, my daughter wouldn't have had a mother and my youngest child would have never been born.
These laws aren't pro-life.

There are cases where women had to leave their state to get such care. Why are you so eager for women to die before you take action?
The extra horrifying part is that MEDICALLY, treatment of an ectopic pregnancy is not an abortion. Try telling that to legislators. No, sorry, you can’t remove an embryo from the fallopian tube--where it will die regardless--and re-implant it in the uterus.
I thought it was a doctors business to monitor womens pregnancy, not the government!!
No. At 55 years old, no doctor I have ever had monitored my periods. How would they do that? The can give pregnancy tests, and ask you about your cycle (consistent? Spotting in between? Etc) but how would they monitor it?

WASHINGTON (AP) - One woman miscarried in the restroom lobby of a Texas emergency room as front desk staff refused to admit her. Another woman learned that her fetus had no heartbeat at a Florida hospital, the day after a security guard turned her away from the facility. And in North Carolina, a woman gave birth in a car after an emergency room couldn’t offer an ultrasound. The baby later died.
My heart breaks for all the women and families.
This is so sad. The damage being caused..... This is inhumane !!
Forced birthers don't care about the suffering of children or women or young girls. The only thing that matters to the forced birther is that women and young girls know their place- as state property. All you have to do is look at their voting records to know that is true.
They also want to fill their factories and for-profit prisons
The real endgame is Eugenics. White Christian babies.
Sadly, your mother gave birth.
It's really telling how they NEVER acknowledge that a woman is a person, with rights and feelings and family who love her. The foetus is a person, but the woman is just a baby factory. Not Christian at all.
Forced pregnancy is the practice of forcing a woman or girl to become pregnant or remain pregnant against her will. This act is often as part of a forced marriage, as part of a programme of breeding slaves, or as part of a programme of genocide. Forced pregnancy is a form of reproductive coercion
So a fertilized chicken egg is the same thing as a full-grown chicken? Granting fertilized human eggs full personhood is just as nonsensical.

You can see this so blatantly in how so many women are being denied medication for their often debilitating illnesses like lupus, chrones, arthritis, and epilepsy because of the meds not being safe to use while pregnant and "what if she gets gRaped??"
You know how many lifesaving medications that are not safe to use while nursing or pregnant?!?!
And these forced birther religious wackos are genuinely talking about "how many of these women can go off their medication just long enough to deliver a sickly premature baby and then die immediately after? Let's put the cutoff point right after that where abortion is allowed. And just encourage all these women to be permanently disabled by denying their medication for 9 months"
Brood mares.
It takes SIX WEEKS TO GET INTO A DOCTORS OFFICE, let alone a obgyn

@@arcticgoddessnopes because if you do that and you force men to pay an extra $0.80 a day for nourishment for the baby he would have to have say on when she goes for a doctor visit and things of that nature. How horrific that republicans brought us to this point

The problem is, you can't prove paternity at conception.
Because they are high demand, good doctors are moving out of red states to minimize risk.
There are going to be a lot a "forced-fathers" who can look forward to paying child support for the next 18 years. Or, is it now 19 as it begins at 6 weeks?
Until you can court-order prenatal paternity tests, it is impossible to enforce prenatal child support.

Yes, actually, I do think they’ll go there. It’s so sick.
If they know you were unable to get an abortion but then miscarry in the future, I can see them absolutely trying to accuse women of inducing(?) a miscarriage
Since politicians are doctors and can't understand what is causing a miscarriage, yes, they'd try to criminalize a miscarriage. Life begins at first breath! Not at first heartbeat.
@@SatansBirdLawExpert Yeah, early abortions (the vast majority) are indistinguishable from miscarriages. That was the greatest play of antiquity and one of the greatest of all time. Thank you, my friend, for the reminder.
with a 6 week ban you would need to take a pregnancy test way more frequently than that. what is called 6 weeks pregnant is actually not 6 weeks pregnant. it's the first day of your last period, and conception occurs around two weeks after that. so you're maybe, at most, 4 weeks pregnant and maybe only 10 days pregnant.
also, in reality, testing positive only means fertilization has occurred, which happens in the fallopian tube and takes another 10-14 days to implant in the uterine wall, and that is when an actual pregnancy starts.
in order to have time to get an abortion within that 6 week window, you would need to test virtually daily.

He avoided answering whether he would be comfortable with states prosecuting women who get abortions after the time period their states' laws allow.
“The states are going to say,” Trump said. “It’s irrelevant whether I’m comfortable or not. It’s totally irrelevant, because the states are going to make those decisions.”"
which is still scummy and i don't understand your shitshow country. why not just make every state its own country if they're all going to be so different??
anyway please do your side a favor and at least fact check lol
We are seeing democracy and action and since the Supreme Court rescinded Roe, each state now has the opportunity to take action in dealing with abortion and abortive procedures. We see some states such as California with very progressive abortion, opportunities, and other states we see with very restrictive and draconian abortion laws. We are saying each state drafting their own policy rather than have a federal, ‘one size fits all’ policy. This is pure democracy and action.
It’s not democratic if people aren’t voting on it. Red states are shutting down ballot initiatives when they can because access to abortion keeps winning.
The phrase is "democracy IN action"...
And no, what's democracy in action is each person being able to decide if abortion is right for them, with nobody else's input but their doctor's.
@@mscheese000. You are absolutely correct. This was a typo that I missed. Thank you for the correction. Have a nice weekend.
@@mscheese000. You have failed to point out how this decision is going to affect transgender men. This is a subject that has been largely overlooked.
States rights...keep the D.C. clown show out of it!
State rights end where women begin. Keepnyour grubby politician hands our of their pants
Anti abortion rights people and groups claim that they are against women being prosecuted for having abortions.but,if a woman were to get prosecuted for having an abortion, would they be there to bail her out of jail,or at the very least, get her acquitted!?
The pater familias was the oldest living male in a household, and could legally exercise autocratic authority over his extended family according to this child support its not the same idea as what we think of it today
The pater familias was the oldest living male in a household, and could legally exercise autocratic authority over his extended family that is the step in the right direction
The Florida one did not happen under trump lol MAYBE BIDEN SHOULD HAVE CODIFIED RVW
He didn't have the majority, and repubIicans can't be trusted to do the right thing.
Its all Republican work. Vote Blue or contraception is next...
Maybe all the lazy complacent politicians in power since 1972 should have codified it.
Can you do simple math? That's more than fifty years we had to make this law and keep women safe. We effed around and we found out.
Don't blame Biden for fifty years of inertia.
And what exactly did YOU do to keep it legal during all that time?
@@gaelsdottir5046 i agree but also want to point out that a politician of any sort codifying something that will inevitably get them votes if they let it sit as it is is a silly thing to expect. politicians want votes and power. abortion rights if nothing else are a big blue boon. why would they remove that from contention?
in Rome women must understand the household procedures and there must be a measure to limit their abuse of power so my suggestion is being more aware of the power of man
actually its 1 day that when it starts your having a family
as people of GOD we must expose the devil who is against the people of GOD
God has to deal with far more terrifying monsters in the universe, such as super novae, neutron stars, and black holes, and since he is male, he just can take care of important things. After all, multi-tasking is the women's province. That's why he gave you an exceptional brain and told you to use it.
The Devil's people are the ones currently voting for the ''I'll be a dic..tat.or but just for one day guys, pinky swear!'', supporting the overturn of US democracy. You think the wealthy ruling class Republicans backing Trump are doing all this because they want to please God? Or that their bleeding hearts truly care about their working class voters? No. They want the US to ''become a Nation ruled under God'' because that means getting rid of democracy and allowing them to step in as OLIGARCHS. If they succeed in their plans? They will become the most powerful people on earth, and the US will become an auth@rit..arian regime with the biggest army in the world...
Hope you don't own a farm or something, cause the new Oligarchs will be the same people who own mega corporations! Think big food industry will look at all the rural land and small farms and not want to seize all of it so that they are the ONLY ones producing and selling food? Think Trump will stop them when they hand over a bribe? BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!
You're in a cult and you're bound to wake up and look back at yourself in disgust. Wake up.
which people of which god? even the bible acknowledges that there are other gods and therefore other people. the bible is for a specific people and whomever CHOOSES to convert.
and taking into consideration, "Thou shalt have no other gods BEFORE me," you aren't even obligated to ONLY worship yahweh, you just have to make sure that he's the head of whatever pantheon you go with.
also ya'll have a lot of graven images of your jesus and all, whom a chunk of you say is your god in the flesh, so you're not really following your own book anyway
The 14th Amendment is clear a person is born.

I gave up caring about the abortion issue. It’s too political, but to help me accept something that I can’t change I’ve just decided to celebrate the fact that abortion gets rid of 500,000 future democrat voters every year.
I want my family that is all I am saying you however want to take it away that is hurtful to me
the Christians have the power to win this battle absolutely let me tell you about the Sabines and what happened to them look in that go ahead its fine we have to do what we have to do
in Rome the pater familias has control over the rights of the family The pater familias was the oldest living male in a household, and could legally exercise autocratic authority over his extended family
So what does that principle have to do with women opening their legs up without using protection?
Your point?
MY GIRLFRIEND SYBIL IS GOING TO HAVE A MULTIPLE HANDLE FLIPOUT OVER THIS!🤬
