I carry the G26. As a non military ambidextrous female, I really wanted simple all around. No fancy things to remember. No external safety. Okay to shoot no matter which hand was drawing. And yes, I carry chambered and no, I haven’t had an accidental discharge yet. Thanks, Mr Glover. Love the info you provide in all areas.

@@justjoe5957 My sheriff deputy son took my original Glock 27 as his off duty weapon when I switched to the G26. The .40 cal was harder for me to use, I kept pinching my fingers racking the slide and I did better with the 9mm version. I recently picked up a Mossberg MC1 single stack 9mm which I like very much also. Not sure about long term reliability but it’s small, easy to conceal, and very lightweight.

Totally agree. I have had my Gen 2, G19 since 1990 and it has jammed less then 5 times in all the years of practice and concealed carry. I have never felt the need to "upgrade" to a newer model as my Gen 2 fits me fine and I can shoot it without problems. I added some Trijicon night sights and the M*Carbo spring kit and that's it!

I enjoyed your comments on the Glock 19. My EDC as L/E for
    30 years was a 1911. It was
in 45 acp. My son retired from
L/E & convinced me to change to
    the 9mm. As a result, I selected
    a Glock 19. Also I read Chuck
Taylor’s article of one he put 365000
    rounds through. Truly a wonderful
sidearm. I will carry as you suggest.

I was a die hard Sig guy, carried the P226 for years and then the P320 XCarry. One day I tried the G19 and once I got used to the grip angle it was hard not to admit that the bore axis was a game changer with Glock and the backstraps for the gen 4 as well. I was faster and more accurate and didn't have near the issue getting holsters and support gear. Long story short I love my Sigs but there is always a G19 or G26 in my pants now a days and I preach that to my students. I always finish with "Is there anything wrong with a S&W or something else? No it's just wrong for me and my situation and everyone has to make that choice."

Of all the carry pistols I have fired my favorite is the Sig Sauer P365. My only complaint about it is the proprietary rail system. But other than that. Basically same size as a S&W Shield or Glock 43 but with a factory extended mag you can carry 15 round if you need or 12 with a more flush fitting mag. Trigger is great on it as well. Also, comes from the factory with night sights which is a plus.

The size of the G19 is absolutely perfect . I don't know who said the quote but it's so true about the G19 . Saying is. Big enough to fight with and small enough to carry .

I have a Gen 4 Glock 19 that “was” my favorite handgun ever. I also have a Sig Sauer P365XL and a Glock 43X that has been modified extensively with a tungsten reduced power guide rod, a 3.5 lb connector, an Apex trigger, and a Hogue grip sleeve (and a few other that don’t affect shoot ability), and I’m running Shield S-15 mags. I’m not a small guy (6’5 and about 235), but I also don’t have huge hands. The 43X just fits my hand perfectly, and I’d have to say it’s my #1 right now. It feels like my 19, only better.

I'd have to agree about every aspect of the g19 especially the simplicity. However, I carry the m2.0c 4" instead when I'm not carrying my p365xl. I get major slide bite from glocks so I have to use a modified beavetail backstrap which in turns makes a bulky grip bulkier. I also ride the slide release lever causing the slide to lock back prematurely. I have made a "custom" slide release lever so I do not engage it. With all that being said a stock m2.0 compact gets the job done without any extra modifications so I went that route.

Very good video. When I turned 70 years of age several years ago, I decided it was time to change my carry pistol from a 1911 platform with manual safety and grip safety to a stricter fired pistol. As you state in this video, a stricker fired pistol is easy to operate. As one ages, he/she must accept the fact that their memory is not as sharp as it once was and that one needs to simplify every day actions if they can. My favorite Glock pistol is the Glock 30S. This is a soft shooting pistol, and the size falls between the Glock 26 and Glock 19. I normally carry a Glock 19 from October through March and a Glock 26 from April through September due to my cloths selection for the various months/seasons. There has been some talk about my home state limiting magazine size to 10 rounds and this is the primary reason that I purchased a Glock 30S. If I am limited to only carrying a firearm with 10 rounds then the firearm is going to be a 45 acp.

First of all let me say thanks for sharing your experience and recommendation. Old habits die hard, I love the 1911 and have carried it for decades. I can shoot this platform better than anything else due to ergonomics, trigger, grip angle, and etc. Yes, I will concede that the manual safety muscle memory is critical and should be factored in. Due to age I wanted a lighter option and MRD capability so I got a G45 MOS. I added an upgraded trigger, RMR, and sights. Next I got a Shadow System MR920. Between these 2 guns last year I went through 4,000 rounds before I could shoot them at a level approaching the 1911. I am sure good trying would help and I am keeping my eyes open for your Basic Pistol Course in the DFW area. I recently moved to a 2011 platform and feel back at home again. Sine I only have several hundred rounds through it I am still carrying the MR 920 at 3:00 o'clock. I do not know if this old dog can do appendix. This troubles me because I truly value what you share.

Compared my stock p10 triggers to a modified glock triggers it’s nicer. Everything I wish glock would build, but they don’t. I have had a shadow systems loved it will probably get another one. Glocks are great for parts availability. This is true. But my cz don’t need to be fixed and the barrel/ lugs and frame is definitely more beefy than a glocks. It’s nato rated so it’s very reliable.

i beg to disagree respectfully my friend. Let me give you a scenario. Youve got your lever action winchester deer rifle loaded, chambered, and by chance hammer drawn back. Someone has chucked it in a soft case for you at camp and set it on your back seat. What happens when your kids go to play about in the back seat? There is every chance that if they knock that hammer the right way that it will fire a round. At the end of the day rule number 1 for me is always treat every firearm as if it was loaded until you know for certain it is not. I am a big believer that there is no such thing as a firearms accident. Just improper handling or ownership.

I'm carrying the G45 in 9mm. Same size slide and barrel as the G19 and same size grip and capacity as the G17. The G45 fits my hand perfectly which relates to better control over the firearm and more confidence. Carrying in a sticky holster usually at 5 o'clock is most comfortable but have better and quicker access appendix carry.

Tried, and tried to like a glock, used the M9 when I was in, was a great pistol but didn't like getting dirty, was considering the sig 365, but a buddy talked me into trying a Taurus G3, and I absolutely love it, if your confident in the firearm, and you can practice with it, become profecient with it, and that will be 85% of what you really need as a firearm owner, safeties aren't a bad thing, just know your firearm.
Lots of respect to and for Mike and his opinions, and I can't argue with the glock fan presence. But there are many many great firearms out there.

Really good channel, Kevin and you are awesome. Also thank you for all the hard work you've done. I agree completely with you about Glocks especially for first time shooters. I personally am moving towards the G48 because I have smaller hands. When I draw that gun compared to the Glock 19 I get a better grip plus I can index that pistol better. Lastly, about carrying at the 12 o'clock I don't feel secure doing that. I'm 46 and have been into martial arts since I was 20 and with taking a fight to the ground and moving around on the ground, or even just moving around boxing with someone, I just don't like it. I like carrying at the 3 o'clock either iwb or owb. At that position I'm not flagging myself. However a seatbelt does get in the way 🤷🏻

Really like the 1st Gen Glock 17 but that has been just about it. Tried the 21 in a .45 a friend had and after 3 rounds I have it back to him. I have grown to like my fingers and knuckles quite a lot, so giving it back to him was a pleasure. Lol. I carried an old S&W Model 39A with a steel slide and aluminum frame with 8 round mags from the Vietnam era for 20 years. Still love it. Past few years my edc is a CZ75BD. I knew when I first wrapped my stubby ass fingers around the grip, this was it. I didn't care as much about the manufacturer as I did the comfort level. With short fingers it put many newer handguns out of running fairly quick back in 2016/17 when I was updating my edc.. I remember Walther PPQ, M&P Shield, and Springfield XD were in the top 5 as to what fit my hands better, and all were pretty good guns to boot. The Freedom Dispense Specialist who assisted me asked if I ever heard of a CZ75, which threw me off guard considering I only had read a lot about them, never even laid eyes on one personally. Well I had tried almost everything available here except this one. Well, I finally had a edc that wasn't made just one year after I was born.. lol Best wishes and congrats on the upcoming events!

Thanks Mike ! im about to go buy an EDC pistol, my xd 45 combat commander in 45 is a little big and too heavy ! to heavy you may ask, well the way i see it is that if I am out walking around and the wieght of the fucking gun is pullimg my pants down and making me look like a gang banger that is problematic as well because now it is no longer a secret to what I got in my pants and I have most likely compromised myself and my people so I really love all these types of video's you and Kevin and Shawn Ryan do because you keep it simple, you don't throw a bunch of military jargon in there to confuse the masses instead of educating them. I sincerely appreciate this and will pass the info along as well to anyone I know carrying. Also I am making a long range rifle course up here in Eastern Wa. It will have targets set in different places at different ranges and different scenarios so when its complete I will invite you guys up to check it out and hopefully give me the stamp of approval. I am making it because I am a professional fishing and hunting guide and I like to see my clients ability before i put them on a buck of a lifetime with one chane to make history for themselves and I don't like making that shot for them anymore because I have matured and I don't need the ego points anymore so if I can make sure there rifle shoots straight and is on the mark and I can teach them a thing or two before the moment of truth is upon us then I most likely have diverted a horrible embarrasing moment and created a client for life............thanks for all that you do
