It never made sense that he joined the villains given his motivation. I would have thought he would have been a wild card neutral since he wanted to get home.
For those who are wondering why Sandman was acting out of character, well, he kinda wasn't. The guy was already very emotional to begin with, who didn't worry about the outcomes of his actions if it concerns his daughter. In Raimi trilogy, he was willing to rob a guy for helping his daughter, despite him not being a malicious person. In the later part of the film, when he was fighting spiderman, he was not trying to kill him, but instead trying to get the teleportation box from him through intimidation as quickly as possible, while Peter was trying to hold it on for some more time, during which he wanted to cure Norman, Electro and Sandman. Sandman was very impatient at that time and just didn't care about the Peter's plan as he did not trust him enough. That was the reason he again clashed with electro during the Statue of Liberty fight, which gave the spidermen enough time to regroup, because Electro didn't want to go back at all.

I think being in a different dimension is the reason why Sandman and Electro look so different. I think being it has an effect on their molecular structures because our molecules came from the universe around us with its own waves and particles. The waves and particles coming from that universe must be altering their appearances. Like Max said the energy in this universe is different.
It's been theorized that in Sandman's case it's because his condition just eventually ended up like that. The way Sandman acts would make this make sense because he speaks on much more familiar terms with Peter which would suggest there's been some time between SM3's ending and whenever Sandman got pulled out of the Raimiverse
Within the movie's universe, yeah, that's exactly how I took it. They look different because being in a different universe to their own has an affect on their molecular structures and altered their appearances. In reality, the actual reason they look different is because, for Sandman, Thomas Haden Church couldn't physically be on set because he was busy with another project. Either that, or COVID restrictions prevented him from joining the production in person. But he was able to do voice work. So they got around it by having a motion-capture actor stand in for him and then later replace that actor with a CG model. With Electro, Sony and Marvel knew that (most) fans didn't like his appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, so they changed him and went for a more classic, mainstream comics design.
And it's actually reversed in their case. Sandman went from looking human to just sand and Electro changed from straight up electricity to his human look.
Electro: I'm dying to know, but you better make damn sure you kill me this time. Because if you don't, I will cut the light and soon, everyone in this city will know how it feels to live in my world... A world without power... a world without mercy... a world without Spider-Man. They will see me for who I truly am. Dr. Kafka: And who are you? Electro: Don't you know? I'm Electro! 1:22

@@lexramstudios1386 still though....it's a such a waste not having venom. They could always give him an MCU redesign like they did with electro. It would finally be a comic-accurate venom
I love how electro woke up and TASM 2 Music on, I was hyped that Music since 2014 I watched. (Gentlemen this is are favorite childhood spider man villains 2002 - 2014)
This film has its fair share of plot conveniences that we need to swallow for this film to happen, but damn if it isn't worth it. Peter gets his suit dirty, and doesn't have any other option but to just wear it inverted. Flint Marco sees the black Spiderman suit, and assumes it is his Peter and comes to his aid. This results in a 3-way multiverse encounter. Awesome.
I really like how the part at 2:30 parallels The Amazing Spider-Man 2 scene where Andrew Peter stops Electro. In TASM he shot his webs in a similar way to create a connection, while here Peter is doing it to break a connection.
The fact that Only electro, lizard and green goblin are the ones who really joined the team As they wanted to stay in the mcu But sandman was actually just trying to get home He didn't want what peter was trying to do And he also wasn't on the villain's side
So was Electro as Spiderman from his universe abandoned him and never tried to check up after the first fight. Plus even when he first woke up with his powers he tried to give restraint as he didn't want to hurt anybody.

Honestly, one of the biggest missed opportunity we can ever get. I kinda wished that he turned hero/anti hero by the end like Octavius did. Instead of Ned opening a portal to a bunch of sand to stop Connors, it will be sandman fighting to stop reptile.
Sony or whatever could've made a perfect what if after the Spiderman characters return to their universes and become good. Electro could be a good hero but he would need to control his anger
What if Electro attacked Tom just like he did to Andrew in that grid....Hitting him like that song "itsy bitsy Spider" and Tom also saying -"I hate that song"?😂
1:57 “Peter, it’s me! Flint Marko. Do you remember?” Is such a strange and stupid line when you know he thinks he’s talking to Tobey’s Spider-Man. Like, yeah man you’re made of sand and you murdered my uncle, you’re a little difficult to forget.
Sandman had no business being in this film. Still have no idea why he was fighting against the Spider-Men in the finale since they both wanted the same thing - to return the villains home. Coupled with the fact that Thomas Hayden Church didn’t return to play him and it was all just a bit shambolic.
When Spider-Man talks about curing the villains after defeating Dr. Strange in the dungeon, Sandman says, "I just want to go home". He wasn't after a cure and was trying to be nice and cooperative by staying with Spider-Man as he tended to the villains, but after things went badly, he left, presumably to try and find the box himself and then go home. In the final battle, he wants the box desperately in order to go home, aiming to obtain it fast as the villains are trying to destroy it.
What movie were you watching to say that Spiderman's first goal was to send the villains back first? The whole point of the movie was that Peter wanted to cure them first before sending them back, something that stood in start contrast to just about every villain there. The box wasn't at the apartment when green goblin attacked peter, and sandman didn't even attack him there. He just left, and probably went looking for the box. During the climax, his motivation was the same. he was looking for the box and didn't care about the other spiderman's attempt to cure him first.
Then you are supposed to say the same to doc ock and green goblin they also became good after fighting spiderman. But in no way home they all came before dying against spiderman
@@yuchenchen8012 literally every villain was told by Strange that they would be killed when they were sent back, nobody was there to contradict Strange about Sandman. And since he and the other villains didn’t remember actually dying, he assumed as much. From his perspective, they’re trying to kill him. It’s not like Tobey’s Spider-Man was able to stop and explain to him mid battle.
Imagine if Tom's Peter found out that Sandman killed Uncle Ben from his universe. Peter would've lost his mind. Tobey's Peter would then explain to him how it was an accident and he learn to forgave him because he also only because a criminal due to his daughter being sick. In addition to when he thought Sandman did it on purpose, Tobey can tell Tom the same speech his Aunt May gave him about how revenge turns them into something ugly and that they should not decide if anyone deserves to die. With this, after Tom cures Norman, he could say "I forgive you" for what happened to May since it was really the Goblin's fault. Tobey could then smile showing he's proud.
@@briang.2218 There was an Uncle Ben in the MCU. When Peter tells Ned Aunt May she can’t know he’s Spider-Man “…after everything she’s gone through”, he was referring to Ben’s death. When Peter met Tony explaining why he does his superhero thing, he’s telling a different of the “great power” line meaning Ben)s death still affected him into becoming Spider-Man. In a deleted scene of Homecoming, there was supposed to be a scene when May was getting Peter ready in his suit that would have a real connection to Ben. I think it was supposed to be Ben’s suit. In Far From Home, Peter’s suitcase has Ben’s initials on them. And finally, on the show “What If…?”, Peter actually says Uncle Ben’s name with a list of people he’s lost.

as for a more realistic answer, the actor wasn’t able to film any scenes due to being tied with another project !
Very interesting thought process. Their colors, molecules, everything.. All their particles the waves could look different to us.
1:22 man that little snippet of his theme from TASM2 was good enough for me, gave me goosebumps hearing it again.
Like the first appearance of Luke Skywalker in the Mandelorian, we needed this movie for the Fans.
It made the fans feel good.

I love that Electro's theme from TASM plays for a second when he first attacks

2:28 I just noticed that I can see sandman’s face talking with his mouth moving
I wonder if Sandman in this was a last minute replacement for Topher Grace’s Venom, a villain that would’ve made more sense alongside the others since he actually died fighting Spider-Man.
I think they only choose the villains everyone likes more and not the ones we hate
@@lexramstudios1386 still though....it's a such a waste not having venom. They could always give him an MCU redesign like they did with electro. It would finally be a comic-accurate venom

I just realized the similarity that both of them gained their powers by accident and that both have elemental powers compared to the other villains.
Sandman and Electro have returned!💯💯💯
Honestly one of my gavourite scenes in the movie! All three universes colide in one epic fight! It was unreal in the cinema
I love how electro woke up and TASM 2 Music on, I was hyped that Music since 2014 I watched. (Gentlemen this is are favorite childhood spider man villains 2002 - 2014)
I'm still having a hard time believeing that it's been 2 years since this is out already.
Awesome.
To watch Sandman in Spider-Man 3 and see him forgiven, it was so cool to see him return in No Way Home and have him immediately come to his help
I like how Flint Marco is so chill when Tom says to help :sand man be like - OK
I really like how the part at 2:30 parallels The Amazing Spider-Man 2 scene where Andrew Peter stops Electro.
In TASM he shot his webs in a similar way to create a connection, while here Peter is doing it to break a connection.
Except NWH CGI sucks....they even robbed us of featuring that badass electro theme one last time

I love how Sandman is a reformed villain. Shows up to help out Spiderman, then G checks him when he thinks Spidey crossed the 'killing' line.
Tom’s the best Spider-man
And this is why Sandman isn't a villain, he's just misunderstood.
I agree.
So was Electro as Spiderman from his universe abandoned him and never tried to check up after the first fight.
Dude went from being inspired and trying to convince the public whay a hero Spiderman was and then he goes into a full hulk rampage wanting to kill him.
Plus even when he first woke up with his powers he tried to give restraint as he didn't want to hurt anybody.
Spiderman: um, this may sound crazy but. This isn't your universe.
Electro: another universe?
Sandman: *what?*
I love it😹
Next to Andrew Garfield and Tobey appearing onscreen, I was really excited to see Sandman.
I like electro in this movie, he looks even better than he did in The amazing Spider-Man
I just realized something: Peter pulled the electrical plug that might’ve cut off the power for a lot of people

I was really happy to see Thomas Haden Church AKA Sandman to return in the MCU Spider-Man No Way Home. 😃😁
My favorite part about this if you watch the Jamie Foxx Show bro wasn’t acting out no script, he was literally being himself in this movie and it was hilarious.

Electro Felt like a Completely different character in this Film
Just say it was awesome to have so many characters in a movie and to still be a good movie to watch anytime.
Electro and Sandman were amazing in this film
I really hope Marvel does more cross overs with different villains from other universes fighting our heroes
It’s even funnier when you realize Electro was going commando the whole movie, despite getting clothes, since all they were able to find was the electrician attire 🤣
Ironically, glass comes from sand. And glass is one of the best insulators of electricity. That means… 😜

"i got my body back" - electro yep it's sounds like to me he really glad about it.
Electro became from Blue boi to a GigaChad
Otto's wave is so precious!
Thomas Hayden Church may not have physically been on the set but that was definitely his voice so good enough I'd say I see no reason to complain.
Doc Ock’s reaction to seeing Electron getting put in containment is hilarious
Just “Helloooooooo!”
I wonder if Holland-Spiderman even has an Uncle Ben. Like I legit do not know, there's been very little direct indication of it.
