Kick Off 2 is the sequel to Dino Dini's Kick Off, one of the most appreciated soccer sims of the '90s. Developed by Anco Software, it was published in 1990, one year later the first game, for the Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64, MS-DOS and other platforms.

Brilliant. I know.most people always swear by Sensible Soccer, but KO2 was "my football game". I spent hours after school on two player with my best mate.
The same. The best football game i've ever played. My schoolmate was so skillful, so technical, and the goalkeepers are hard to beat.

The sound of the post / bar is hilarious! Also, when a player falls, that sound is killing me! :)

Great game, spent hours with it. The add-on „Extra-Time“ (or Final Whistle? I can‘t remember right now…) was a bit disappointing though. The all new overhead kick wasn‘t implemented well.

I don't know why, but using a joystick was a must with this game, the keyboard controls were not suited, it was very hard to control the ball
Joystick was the defacto input choice for the vast majority of 'action' computer games in that era (unless one had a PC, for which digital joysticks were not routinely owned). The keyboard controls were probably added as an afterthought, it probably didn't occur to Dino Dini that anybody with a joystick would choose not to use it.
