- How Bad Could it be?! Today’s corn stubble is as tough as nails. Don’t let it damage your expensive combine tires and tracks, invest in May Wes Stalk Stompers. We received two inches of rain and doubled our rainfall for the year. Unfortunately we also got some heavy wind with the rain. Our corn didn't fair well. #CropUpdate

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO JIM AND HIS WIFE. MY wife is putting together a 75th ANNIVERSARY for some dear friends. W. E. and Charlotte Morton in Rossville Ga.
Congratulations Jim and Ann on 50 years of happiness
Happy to hear that Jim and his wife are celebrating 50 years of marriage.
Congrats to Jim n his wife, that’s a huge milestone. Not many people will make that 50 anymore.
I hit 56 and my folks hit 76 before they died
@@accessiblenow Tammy Wynette - D.I.V.O.R.C.E. lol
Happy anniversary Jim and Ann
@Steven Stahl Not many take that vow seriously these days.
Congrats Jim. May God continue to you.
Wish Jim and his wife a happy 50th anniversary! That is a mile stone.
I don’t know Jim and Anne other than what I see on this channel, but 50 years is a big commitment to be celebrated! Congratulations!
Yes, congrats to them. Marriage takes a bit more work than yelling 'WHAT!?" from different rooms in the house. :-)
When you said “2021 man” I felt that
Sorry Zack to see the wind damage to the crops. This year seems to be a thorn in the side for all farmers across the country. Good luck getting the corn , it will be slow
It's Zach.
Congratulations to Jim and his wife on the 50th anniversary!, (Anthony From Alberta Canada)
Anna’s face when you went oooooh at the puddle in the shop. Wasn’t me!
You are one of the hardest workers around.
Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary Jim and Ann!!!
That Ann is a heck of a lady to put up with a character like Jim for 50 years. Lucky man!
Sorry about the wind problems. Spent 30 years farming so am well aware of Mother Nature problems. Wouldn't have wished it to be any other way. Always heard and believed "Next Year !!! " I was concerned for you at 14:00 when you were out of the skid steer and the lift arms were still up ! Assumed you crawled under the lift arms . I am concerned about safety in those cases after knowing of injuries and deaths as a result of that. I know how Jim and his wife feel after 50 years, my wife and I will celebrate 58 years soon. Congratulations to them!!
Looks like only end rows got knocked over. Better break out the corn reel. Lol. Congrats on 50 years jim.
It seems nobody gets just rain this year, there’s always hurricane winds too. Congrats to Jim and his wife!
Sorry about your loss in the corn field. I know how that feels. It nice to see your children healthy and growing. You are a blessed man. Happy anniversary Jim and Ann.
Congrats Jim, 50 and counting.!
Happy 50th anniversary Jim and Ann, you have 18 yrs on us. Hope your harvest is better than you expect.
funny how it goes to much rain or no rain. i remember when i was a kid on the farm and we dealt with it every year. i remember having to use a stone boat and a sickle bar to get the corn off and fed it into the chopper to blow the corn into the silo for silage because it was to wet to get on the fields. farmers are the backbone of this country all i can say is god bless you all
In the early ‘60’s we had a wind storm that blew down our corn. Other farmers in town had the same down corn. We teamed up with three other farmers and cut the corn going against the wind direction. We picked up quite a bit of the blown down corn. The team of 4 harvesters went to all 4 farms to help each other out. When the harvester reached the end of the row, it went back across the field as fast at it could, then started cutting again in the direction of the blowdown.
Zack, I am sorry to see your crops damaged by the wind. It seems like 2020-2021 has been a hot mess for a lot of people in your area. Congrats on Jim's 50 years. I pray you are able to harvest it all. God Bless you and your family.
Amazing work put in these videos.. As always!! My congrats, you'll reach higher and higher goals/checkpoints on all comunities
Man, Mae West was at Larson Farms last week, and now Johnson Farms this week! Selling a lot of stalk stompers.
Should of had a Larson farm shirt on. That would of been funny
Honestly, I always look forwards to your uploads. Thank you!
The farmers around me one year where using their Draper headers to harvest the corn since the corn was flat
THANK YOU for your efforts at your chosen profession! And thank you for letting us tag along...
congratulations to Jim and his wife. Blessings from Ireland
Thanks for being there.
These May Wes people did the Larson Farm conversion too. They get around.
Man all ya need know is a early wet 6” snow to put the icing on the cake for 2021. I feel for ya bin there done that.
I bet Zach cussed when he read this 😂
You need to shut your mouth
All I can say is if crying would help I guess I could set and cry with ya. 😢😢
@@karlbrooksmotorsports4892 I don't farm but live within 100 miles of Zach and cussed when I saw this.😂
Jim and his Bride for 50 years congratulations to both of you. Zach I know that if there is a way to get the most out of what storm damage you have experienced you are the man for it. You are very innovative in rectifying issues. Take care Good luck and be safe.
You can always break out the Beloved corn reel! I know how much you love that thing. 😆 🤣 well the positive is that it could always be worse and yall finally got some rain. So great to see a new video. God bless yall!!
In Kansas, we had a pretty bad storm about a month and a half ago, (broke some railroad gates, so pretty strong) and it bent some corn over real bad (not ours, we're not farmers). Haven't noticed if it ever straightened out. And happy anniversary to Jim and his wife!
Congrats to Jim and his wife.
Congratulations Jim and Anne, wow 50 years
Congratulations Jim and Anne!!!!
Congrats Jim & Ann!
My heart goes out to you Zach. You just can't seem to catch a break. Almost can't wait to see this harvest be over. Just to reshuffle your deck. Cards delt his year wasn't a great hand.
It's part of farming!
@@MillennialFarmer agreed, we have been struggling with army worms the past week eating all our alfalfa
Happy Anniversary Jim and Ann. Hope you had a lovely day
So sorry to see your corn laying down. I have been there back in the 80. A storm got in river and came up. Lots of wind and rain. It is nice to see your family with you. Working on the farm. God bless 🙏 you and your.

Congrats to Jim and his wife . We where on track for record corn yields timely rains here in north central Illinois until august11 that morning had up to 104 miles per hour wind lots snap and twisted corn now harvests is going to be very difficult and slow lots of corn reels being brought right now
Been a long time since I was a farm kid. But seeing your down corn still makes my stomach drop and knot up.
Gonna be a snowy winter great grandpa always said it always evens out
" john deer shuffle".. sounded like a perfect time for a MONTAGE!!!! LOL
Upon hearing the forecast for T-storms I immediately thought of flattened crops. Having lived through that in the '50's and 60's I've concluded that some things never change in farming. God bless.
Wow. Wind damage is terrible. Hope it comes back.
Congratulations Jim and Ann
I am so sorry about your corn🌽 how Farms work Ryan he got hit pretty good too it is sure been a messed up Summer for sure all we're asking is for you to be safe there is some Farmers it's got covid it's through meet and greet and deliveries to the farm please be careful when what you're around for a long time and I'm sure your wife does too and your children God bless I hope everything works out well for you my friend and God bless🙏
Great awesome video zach and Becky , so sorry about your corn 🌽 crop , hope next year is much better, slow harvest process.
I’m so sorry the weather didn’t cooperate this year but being a farmer we know it’s a gamble
Happy 50th anniversary Jim and Ann and many many more. 🎉
2021. The year that keeps on giving.
Last summer here in the Mid North of South Australia it was so dry even the weeds refused to grow.
Glad you finally received some much needed rain. Sorry to see the crop damage.
Watching this video whilst waiting for the combine to fill my trailer here in the uk🇬🇧
Congratulations with the 2 inch rain and what came with it😉
Hopefully the harvest will be done with no problems
Congrats Jim
Hurts to see the crops damaged, I really do hope next harvest for you, the welkers and for all other farmers get the holy grail, happy anniversary to jim and Anne!
Glad to hear y’all got rain. Here in southern ky we’re getting the rain from the recent hurricane. It’s wet just very wet. That’s what she said
Fun and educational video as usual. Thanks Zach.
Coming to be about that time for harvest. Saw that you caught some wind. Hopefully you can grab what you can. As always, keep it between the rows!!
Weather everywhere, figures it would be late! I would say the cart stands just need a leg extention for correct hieght!!! Keep it growing 😁
Happy Aniversery Jim & Ann!!!
Congrats to Jim an ann on there fifty anniversary. Hope they have many more god bless
Oh wow congratulations to Jim and his Wife! I knew he was a little older than you but I didn't know he was that far ahead of ya! 🤣
The 612c corn head needs to have an updated check valve kit (BXE10670) installed to make the hydraulics compatible with the new combine. Deere changed production in 2016 and moved the check valves to all header equipment and removed them from all the combines at that time. This design change reduces hydraulic leaks at the multicoupler connection between combine and front-end equipment.
aLways a pleasure!
Good luck with the harvest from the UK Fenlands
Happy Anniversary Jim and Ann
Another great video. Now I'm going to watch you roll a Razor on Chet's channel. Stay positive. Better days are ahead.
Can’t believe how bad the corn is just about like Iowa last year
I think it’s worse tbh
@@sarno249 yeah I live in Iowa and it looks and Minnesota looks worse
It looks like the weather flipped,Iowa looks like it's doing good and the north is doing awful
@@sarno249 That would depend on where you were at in Iowa. I saw several fields that were absolutely leveled side to side front to back. The big problem there is the lack of rain. That was having trouble before the wind.
Contact Cole The Corn Star....their corn was leveled last year, they were able to scrape it off the ground....they had some cool attachments to their corn head...
Very clear video. Great job
Congratulations Jim and Wife on 59 years 🎉🎉 that's awesome !! And you thought harvest was going to go quicker than usual do to the lack of bushels !! Sorry for your future headache in advance !! 🙏🙏🙏
I did not think Jim was that old?....
I hope the harvest goes as well as it can all things considered. Mother nature can be very cruel sometimes! Also happy anniversary to Jim and Ann! Jim is a legend and a handy man to have about!
I've watched you now for about a year, and as far as i know, this is your worst year but it has been a fun time following you through the season! Looking forward to harvest and how much hassle that will be. For sure you're not looking forward to it i assume!
Happy Anniversary Ann and Jim.
Happy golden anniverary Jim and Ann!
Gonna be fun with the combine this year!
The notifications WORKED! Thank you UA-cam!
Really feel for you. We are in Benton County, Iowa and it was awful last year.
Yep I remember corn like that when I was farming
Seen a damage on you guys I hope it gets better we pray able to get better for y'all and sure enjoy all this with us why have a good night
Wow sorry to see that. On the other hand I just saw you on TV today from the doctor's show!
Hope your harvest goes better than it looks over here we had a cold spring and a summer with 30% of average sunshine and 200% above average rain the grain drier which has had 2 years off has worked as hard as yours.
I’m sorry y’all are going through such bad droughts. I wish you could have some of our rain. 9 inches 2 weeks ago here in nc
2021 the year tht keeps blowing.... Your mind.
I find it hard to believe that 80 random people came here and did a thumbs down, seems more like maybe they might be subscribers from another farm channel trying to show some loyalty, in a weird way, to another channel. The only opinion expressed was that some of the corn might stand up and some won't, not too controversial.
All I can say is we need to pray for our American farmers. They fight the good fight. Amen
They get around. They were at Larson Farms like a week ago installing stock stompers for the first time
You can pick corn up, it just takes time and corn is light test weight… on strip tiller, just put bucket on hitch and block back up with light lift jack. ‘I’ Do it a lot when not setting implement in the dirt…
