Oh man... If Karlach's engine is similar to the steel watch, maybe there would be a chance she could get her engine fixed? It would make for a nice expansion, if after saving the gnomes they could fix Karlach up. There's definitely some potential there if larian ever decides to make expansions
This really threw me off actually! I thought that was her act 3 story, getting her fixed up in there. But turns out that's not even a thing?? I was so upset!
That IS what it was planned based on some findings 2bh. Spoilers below. You find interesting metals that are not just infernal iron, but better, on defeated hellwatchers and steelwatchers. You find some design prospect and somewhat of a head prototype linked back to the underdark mage tower. Basically, I think Karlach was supposed to have an ending where Gondians make a new engine for her based on the strange leftovers we got.
i think they are working on adding it back in, apparently there is a ton of cut content because larian released earlier to not compete with starfield and a few other triple a games
I sure do hope they add this as content, I will go back and re-play the entire game a third, fourth or fifth time just to see her happy honestly 😅 thanks for the info! @@takeachance5881
After having finished the game, Karlach's story feels so very incomplete.. especially with the surplus of enriched Infernal Iron you find that has absolutely zero use. Now, after seeing this? It feels even more so.
I think he obtained the infernal engine by trading Karlach to Zariel, and in turn Zariel sent him the same type of engine she shoved into Karlach's body
I both love this interaction as a form of worldbuilding and it makes me sad for Karlach ;v; (Also her hat is great. Ik it's probably a skin glitch but I like to imagine she cut the holes for her horns into it. Style~)

We need Dammon and the gnomes to team up and create her a new engine.

Wait does this mean Gortash not only sold Karlach to Zariel but he invented the engine they put in her too?

This needs to trigger when she's not the speaker as well. I have NEVER seen this in 600 hours.
It triggered for my tav while having her in my party
That must have been since Patch 4 or 5. Awesome! @@amnesial.9691

Woah I didn’t know that this was a thing that’s an easy way in
Interesting
