This was the "Hot Ticket". Nice of someone to show-up and run some trains. Sure was scenic to watch. Stay our of the nasty air. We are now getting ash from the Mendocino fire.Well done as always. Greg and Jeanne
I went to the railfans weekend at the Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad yesterday, I rode the trains and saw many layouts, they had both 464 and 152 running that day
Me too. As a kid there was a short D and RGW 3 foot gauge in the hood. Guys collection. (show on that here) Pioneer Village. ANYWAY loved climbing around in that thing.
Lovely video. The beautiful trestle at 1:53 with the Union Pacific train going across it was built in place by my grandfather. Brought back a lot of great memories to see that.
I can't seem to make up my mind. LOVe old steam, post civil war, 1880 all the way to the super modern stuff....1910. BUT then I love the other post war, 1945-1959... Hum.... But depression era is cool too.
Hi there, Toy Man. New subscriber here. I really enjoy how you pace your shots. You keep the camera in place for that perfect amount of time to let the viewer really absorb all that's happening! I'm a millennial but I notice a lot UA-camrs my age and younger really keep storytelling and videos at a fast pace. It's refreshing to see someone take their time and really enjoy what they're seeing!
Slow is wonderful. Especially when it comes to seeing fascinating things! Thank you. My partner and I have watched a lot of your videos and zero of them are boring. She's actually from Utah and recognized some of the highways you and Karen were driving down. We're on the east coast but she said a perk of your videos is that she "gets to hear people speak Utahn."
Great little tour my friends! That was fun. We had a mom and daughter from my Civil War reenacting unit crash at our house last night and they got to see the Pacific Crest in person for the first time. Of course nothing is running still, but they were marveling at the scenery and structures. Mom says as she turns into the room, "Wow! This is like being in Colorado in the 40's!" My first vindication of place and time!. Now, seeing this that you shared has given me further inspiration for further detailing of what has already gone in. The girl diving off the trestle was awesome. Unfortunately my Cashe la Poudre River crossings are over shallow water in late September of '42. But, I find a way to include that somehow. I visited the Co. RR Museum back in '85; but, I don't recall there was a downstairs. Too many concussions! So, thanks again for this one. It's going into my "bookmark" collection!
Thanks Rita. This was SO fun. Challenging times. We shot this weeks ago when the world was "normal". Working a a show for Sunday next that tries to figure out the new world. Stay golden!!
COOL!!!! There are 6 as I recall in LA, 4 for sure. They have been used to run special trips on Amtrak, but Amtrak just pulled the plug on that. (idiots) So the cars were sold to a guy who plans to get that going again as soon as better management takes over at Amtrak. If ever...
the car name is the Silver Place this is the second car CZ dome car that the group has work on the other is in Duluth MN work on the North Shore Scenic Railroad I think its name is the Silver Club the Silver Place I work on the car from the brakes to scraping paint One of the volunteers grown up along the CZ line remembering seeing the train. Push to see if the car can be restored to the full stainless steel it had when it ran on the CZ the Silver Place is to be running this Sep with the 261
My security blanket. We would love to come to Scottsdale!! We were planning on coming with Al before he died. BUT would still be fun. Sort of hard to wrap or heads around stuff right now.
Sorry.. I've been posting to Facebook, but yes... No idea why. A week ago today, he just didn't wake up. I'm editing Sunday's show on Al right now. God it's hard to do. Funeral is this Friday. We are all in shock. 2nd death in a week. GOD. Sometimes this getten old crap.......
You could try Hostlers or Golden Spike for HO, Golden Spike may be closer, they operate in the basement of that abandoned children's museum on beck street
Hey awesome video as always i agree cool layout and i say its a California zephyer take care and id like to see your collection from what ive seen through your videos i can only imagine 🤣🤣 be safe
Looks like a great layout. Did you make it to Evanston last weekend? We went Saturday and I half expected to see the two of you wandering around taking video.
HI. I rode the Rio Grande Zephyr many times. I remember when the California Zephyr became the Rio Grange Zephyr in the 70's and when the Rio Grande Zephyr stopped in 84. Both very sad days. I THINK I rode the California Zephyr. Watched it many times, and my Grandfather had family in Chicago and so went there all the time on the train. About half the time he rode the Zephyr as it had the better but longer ride. I would stand and stare!! AND the crew!! The lucky crew!!! The (always) black men that crewed the train. Looking sooooo sharp in their white coats. One of these guys the worked Silver Sky as bar tender was one of the coolist men I ever met. AND he stayed on to 1984 on the Rio Grande Zephyr. Those last years he had a cassette player in the car and played jazz tapes and talked jazz. All I have is a few photos. Sad. But in those days....
If this is the same Denver HO club, then it has been around a very long time. If so, then it was once located in South Denver, in the 1950's, in the basement of the Mayan Movie Theater. There is a B&W photo of a club scene on page 35 in the revised edition of "Scenery for Model Railroads" by Bill McClanahan, second edition, 1967. I first saw the club at the Colorado Railroad Museum in the early 1960's as a kid. Do they still have the coin-op machine where you put in a quarter to run a train on the layout?
HI. Don't think so. There were some AMAZING clubs in down down but now gone.... As far as I know (which is little) these guys have always been here. But not sure. Anyone out there know?
Yes, the Denver HO Model RR Club was in the basement of the Mayan for many years. We've now been in the basement of the Colorado RR Museum for 50 years. It was February 1968 that we moved into our present location. We installed the coin boxes in the early 1980s. Initially, there was just one to run a train, and then a second was added to run the amusement park. BTW, that was me running the layout, which we do every Tuesday afternoon from 1-4.
WOW!!! That was cool. I first saw the layout in 1984. Not sure what it was like exactly, seems mostly the same.. but geeeezzz ... that was 34 years ago!!! Now this club is old school!!!!!!!.
Only if everyone HELPS by sharing and telling everyone. As for us, we are very busy screwing around and filming said screwing around. And sleeping from time to time.
Looks like the motorist in the blue vehicle, took "Following Us" seriously! LOL! Loved the Denver Model Railroad Club!
Now as long as it not Homeland Security (again. Long story)

I know that Thomas and friends episode. That episode is called Snow, that was in session five. That session was in 1998.
Beautiful layout! 👍🚂
That’s Right.
The DMRC sure has a beautiful layout. Like Karyn, I have a love for all things caboose.
Me too. As a kid there was a short D and RGW 3 foot gauge in the hood. Guys collection. (show on that here) Pioneer Village. ANYWAY loved climbing around in that thing.
What a beautiful layout. The scenery and buildings have a very authentic Colorado feel. Very nicely implemented.
Right?? Super well done.
@@ToyManTelevision it is great.

So great to hear!!
Thanks for taking us along.
Mike
Agree with you about 40 foot Box cars! I particularly like the Accurail Outside Braced Box Cars!!!
They rule.
I plan to do a film for the Denver HO scale model railroad at the Colorado railroad museum.
Loved the Denver Model Railroad Club! You guys are great!
It is a amazing.
I love it too.
I love this place! I need to go back soon! I'm heading up to see Sierra 3 this September as well!
I need to get to some Colorado narrow gauge every year. At least once. Or twice. Three??? sure..
One of the great aspects of the hobby. Can model any era. I prefer steam. I own little diesel
I can't seem to make up my mind. LOVe old steam, post civil war, 1880 all the way to the super modern stuff....1910. BUT then I love the other post war, 1945-1959... Hum.... But depression era is cool too.

I wish there were narrow gauge railroads near me. But you go to some really neat places and catch some really neat things!
Plan a trip and go to Colorado. Just to ride trains! Once in a lifetime trip. really.
Passenger service didn't stop in 1983 on the D&RGW. Amtrak took over.
Can't wait to see garage mahal 👍🏻‼️
What a great bit watching the you two doing what the two of you do best. Yet another great piece of fantastic screwing around. 🚂💖 😍💖🚈🚅🚄🚝🚞
Thanks Rita. This was SO fun. Challenging times. We shot this weeks ago when the world was "normal". Working a a show for Sunday next that tries to figure out the new world. Stay golden!!

Well thats cool!!! We will try to always find cool stuff for you! We are just back from Portland Oregon. Saw the 4449 and a bunch of AMAZING things.
I like the sweater in the back seat that looks like a SNAKE! EEK!
Bring an HO train to Phoenix in 2019 and run it on the Scottsdale Club layout.
My security blanket. We would love to come to Scottsdale!! We were planning on coming with Al before he died. BUT would still be fun. Sort of hard to wrap or heads around stuff right now.
What? Did Al die?

We are really thinking of Golden Spike. Love the layout, the building and the people.
Did you see the g scale layout
Narrow gauge all the way! (And a bit of standard gauge here and there)
Duel gauge!!! BUT mostly narrow gauge. Except for transition class A. AND 1880's American. And.....
Toy Man Television lol that basically describes everything that I like XD

Yes. We were there on Saturday. About 2? 3? pm
Been a tough 2 weeks, but we wanted to get up there.
If I were you y'all should go to spencer north Carolina
We had a plan to come that way but then it got scrambled. BUT it may be back on. Sure be fun.
Toy Man Television the only reason to go is 611 steam locomotive
Did you say in a earlier show that you road the California zephyr? If so do you have any video or photos of the train you could do a show on?
