This channel will be like a free and "un-monetized" central platform aimed at any english speaking Beatles student around the planet, and it will patiently collect and centralize all interviews and significant radio/podcast/video appearances Mark Lewisohn has made anywhere in the world, usually scattered around dozens of different sites and platforms on the internet, onto one single central channel for reference without monetizing its videos, for this is a purely educational reference channel for the connoisseurs, without any commercial nor business goal of any sort.

Mark Lewisohn has professionally studied the Beatles since the late '70s. Mark has worked for Paul McCartney himself from 1986 to 2001, for the Beatles' own company Apple Corps from 1991 to 1998, and has also collaborated with the surviving members for the enormous 1995 autobiographical "Anthology" project...
But beyond his extraordinary books and even beyond the Beatles themselves (!), listening to Mark Lewisohn talking about the Fab Four during those long conversations with various Beatles fans, Beatles experts and Beatles students from all around the world, is indeed a fascinating and informative experience in itself. It is a vibrant and breathtaking experience because it is like listening to a series of rich in-depth lectures on what life used to be like in the Western World after World War II, during the 1950s and obviously during the great legendary 1960s.
Hence the existence of this channel.

Essential listening for new and old fans. There's nuggets of gold in all of Mark's interviews.
There is no 'too much' when it comes to (fact based) Beatles details IMO, which to me is the best measure of a genuine FANatic (in the most positive sense of the word of course). And I wholeheartedly identify myself as such. Thank you Mark, your work is an invaluable treasure to the legions everywhere who feel just as I do. May all the forces of heaven and earth align to propel the appropriate support system your way swifty.

I’m loving all these videos Mark....getting through them all slowly but surely. Very interesting, always a great listen. The extended book is fabulous...it really is as if you’re there in Liverpool Hamburg and London in the 40s 50s and 60s, can’t wait for volume 2. Thank you for everything you’re doing.

You should seek out the original podcasts from which these interviews are taken Unfortunately the hosts of this Channel (who are not not Mark Lewisohn) do not provide information about these sources, but try ... I Am The EggPod, Nothing Is Real, The Word Podcast, Something About The Beatles, Fabcast and others. Mark has appeared on them all so there is more to discover.

Good interview, but the interviewer is not Kim Hill (who is a female journalist in New Zealand with her own weekly radio programme). Does sound like a New Zealand interviewer though.
That's what I was thinking. Mark even calls the interviewer Richard.
John said that Epstien put them in to suits, John (begrudgingly), went along with the suggestion, however he reckoned that getting in to suits took the edge off the band, which in hindsight was ridiculous. Listen to the Star Club recordings, then Please Please me and or With the Beatles. Listen to "Money" or "It won't be long" or "Twist & Shout" or
"I saw her standing there"
These are world wide Standards that other bands copy or emulate, John's theory does not stand up, he even ridicules Sgt Pepper (he met Georgw Martin in the 70's and said they should have re recorded the album), then excused his comments by saying he was probably on drugs at the time, he also said he disliked the B side of Abbey Road as he referred to as a Rock opera, while the rest of us just love it!
Ironically, he told Andy Peebles (about the BBC recordings), that there was some great material recorded back then. It wouldn't seem that, depending on his mood or at what stage John was at in his life he would mostly ridicule Beatles material or recommend or compliment the very same work. I have NEVER heard any ridicule for the other three Beatles. Elvis made some duds but never ridiculed it no matter what he thought of it!
