- Rex Ryan and the Jets look to advance to their first conference championship since 1998, as they travel to Qualcomm Stadium to face LaDainian Tomlinson and the #2-seed Chargers, who plays in his final game for the franchise.
This was such a good team. Only a half away from the Super Bowl. This O-Line and defense was no joke. Full grown ass men on both sides of the ball. Same in 2010
I honestly feel that if AJ Smith put aside his ego for one more season after 2006, Schottenheimer and the Chargers would've won the Superbowl. At which point, Schottenheimer would've retired and then AJ Smith could've hired anyone he pleased.

-The last game for LaDainian Tomlinson as a Chargers player
It also should have been:

But unfortunately, we kept him for 3 more painful seasons as he ran the Chargers further and further into the ground. We could have hired Jim Harbaugh as head coach in 2011, but we decided to keep Norv while Harbaugh went to San Francisco and went to 3 straight conference championship games and a Super Bowl.

I'm not even a Chargers fan and I felt their pain in this one. Losing in 2006 to the GOAT is one thing but to lose to a 9-7 Jets team, when you have this caliber of a team that San Diego had, there are no words for that.

Brought back great memories but what Jim Nance said at the end was mindblowing. Mark Sanchez, as a rookie in 2009, won two playoff games, the same as the rookie QB in 2008...Joe Flacco. Flacco is still going.
Sproles was such a joy to watch. The man changed the tempo of the game.
Special teams matter. Just can't miss out on 9 points in a defensive struggle.

This game was my first introduction to the Chargers. My brother and I got Madden NFL 10, I loved the Chargers, started watching football, saw we were in the playoffs and I thought we were going to the Superbowl. Then the true nature of the Chargers revealed themselves...I've been suffering for this team ever since.

What could have been had Rex and Mike T understood what kind of qb Sanchez was. They threw away what could've been a solid 5+ year run amongst the best in the AFC if they continued to focus on the run game and defense.

Phillip Rivers just couldn't get it done in the playoffs.
Not all his fault , I wanted the Jets to trade for him badly , if they had Rivers instead of very mediocre Sanchez I think they would won or gone to a SB in that two season , he single handily willed a few talentless charger teams To the playoffs

@@frankiesacco Lol, it’s all good this was a fun game. The Jets were underdogs in 2009 and in 2010. Do u happen to have 1997 Raiders @ Panthers? The first ever Panthers win against the Raiders. Also, the very first matchup between the Panthers and Raiders in Carolina. I know they already went up against each other in Week 1, I was just curious.
To me this looks like two bad teams, it's amazing either of them went deep in the playoffs. And Rivers...ugly throwing motion, insufferable personality, I'm glad his peak was one AFC championship appearance.
