@@starman1004 They choked against weak playoff teams. The 2006 Pats were not even remotely in the same league as the 2007 Pats. And in 2009 they lost to a rookie Marc Sanchez at home and only put up 14 points. It's just pathetic really. There have been some ugly 1 and dones by high caliber teams over the last 15 years (2011 Packers, 2012 Broncos, 2017 Steelers, 2019 Ravens) but unlike those franchises the Chargers don't have multiple Lombari trophies. This game is even more frustrating for the Chargers considering who their next playoff opponent would have been: the Indianapolis Colts, a team they have owned at the time.
Jesse Gordon in 2010 it wasn’t entirely Kaeding’s fault considering their special teams allowed 4 out of 12 punt blocks in the 2010 season and their special teams gunners on punts allowed like nearly 20 average yards per punt return
Chargers are the most cursed team in history. They should’ve beat the jets in this game. Sanchez had 100 yards, they weren’t doing shit with the exception of Greene. What did beat them? Nate Kaeding misses 3 field goals including two chip shots after being one of the best kickers all year. A BS call on Jammer for Pass Interference. A fucking deep pass going through Jackson’s hands bouncing off his foot, and then bouncing off his ass that lands in Revis’ hands? WHAT. THE. FUCK. Phillips fucking headbutts a player that leads to Jets scoring a TD instead of a field goal. Something that didn’t hurt us that much, but Jackson kicks the flag like a dumbass. This was the day that people from Iowa City, IA were both *very* proud and *very* disappointed! University of Iowa's Shonn Greene put on a *second* stellar performance in the playoffs and had improbably lead this seemingly second-tier (when compared to the heavy hitters like the Patriots, the 14-2 Colts, and the 13-3 Chargers) Jets team to the AFC Championship to gain legendary status, but had to *also* watch as both their college team's (still to this day, just two days shy of October 2020) all-time leading scorer *and* hometown boy, Nate Kaeding, went from one of the most celebrated kickers in the NFL (because, just to recap, before this game, Kaeding was headed to that year's *Pro Bowl* and was considered the *top kicker* in the NFL that season due to nearly leading the league in total accuracy and tying for the lead in number of kicks made, and was being talked about as having the potential to become one of the greatest of all-time because of his steady improvement from season-to-season) to arguably the biggest laughingstock of a kicker in playoff history! I'll admit, even though I'm from Ames, IA (home of the Iowa State Cyclones, University of Iowa's biggest rival), it still felt truly bizarre to me watching that and I felt both elated and terrible at the same time. Because, for the record, I *want* people coming from Iowa schools to do well on the national stage (because for anyone who hasn't lived outside the state of Iowa, we get *endlessly praised* when people from our state/our universities do well, and *endlessly mocked* when they don't. They don't care if it's not your home town or your home town school, if they hear your state attached to a person on the big stage, that person now represents *you,* whether you like it or not)! And I can only imagine how my friends in Iowa City felt (they explained it to me, but I can't say I fully understand their feelings without being in their exact shoes)!
This was the most painful game to relive as a chargers fan…. This was a magical season that ended with a cursed game that this team of promise never recovered from. Gabriel Camarillo When your all pro kicker can’t hit a 36 and 40 yarder and your linebacker headbutts a player on the jets that turns a field goal into a touchdown and you lose by three fucking points meaning had only one of these actions not being committed you would’ve not lost the game... I like to boil it down to the universe and karma gods striking us down for who knows what. Whatever the reason, it’s truly painful to be a Charger fan
I'm with you Gabriel, Chargers have had some great regular seasons but always find a way to fall on their faces in playoffs. For God sakes how many teams have lost TWICE to my Jets in the post season LOL !!?? (Chargers did it in2004 and 2009). The short answer is San Diego, Cincy, Oakland and the Baltimore/Indy franchise have lost 2 or more times to the Jets in the post season (Baltimore/Indy amazingly 3X !!).
The chargers need to lose every remaining game for a great draft pick and for getting new coaches. This is my wish. Also, Spanos can only afford Pep as interim, so give him a try. Cheers
It seems like Kaeding has way more misses than makes in his career. Comic relief kicker. And they still ended up bringing him back after that??? They could have found a better kicker but didn't. All it did was make the team suffer in the long run regardless of who was QB. All those empty possessions by the chargers after successfully moving the ball.......Talk about deflating.
I am surprised that the Chargers and Jets never made to the Super Bowl.I was very disappointed in both those teams. They had plenty of chances to go to the super bowl.Instead it was always Manning and the Colts,Brady and the Patriots, and Roethlisberger and the Steelers making it to Suoer Bowls in that era. Those 3 QB's and thier teams were always winning. 🤦♂️ I don't know if the Chargers and the Jets will ever have a chance to make it to the super bowl. Its 2023 now and Patriots,Steelers,Colts, and Jets all suck now.The only team that is good in this era is the Jumpstart Los Angeles Chargers. All they have to do is beat Mahomes and the Chiefs and the Chargers will have a Super Bowl birth since the 1994 season when they played super bowl 29 and if they win that will be the Chargers 1st championship since the early 1960's when they won the AFL title.
People blame Kaeding but I blame Rivers. Super inexcusable interception throw in our end zone. And I feel like he was outplayed by dare I say it...Mark Sanchez. He choked in my opinion. Had plenty of opportunities.
An INT that I don't think was converted into 6 wasn't more impactful than leaving 9pts on the board and the momentum that came with it. A kicker only has one job.

Actually just go look at 7min if u seen the game live when Shawn green breaks open the lead 14 to 7 on that run cromartie #31 didn’t even attempt to touch him. Just check it out then next year he goes to the jets lol
James Dawny Shown Green was built like a runaway beer truck. I don’t t blame him.
Same with LT joining the Jets they both pulled a KD
@@yankees29 well u get paid to tackle trucks.....
Back when the Jets were good
Mark Sanchez in 09-10 was a very strange thing
Jim Leonard was a dawg
6:16-6:41 Rich Eisen: "It's okay, they need 2 scores, might as well bring out your Pro Bowl-kicker he's missed 2, he can't miss 3, I mean he's not gonna miss 3!!!!!!! HE MISSED 3RD ONE! The hat-trick for Nate Kaeding! No points for the Chargers, less than 5 minutes to go in the game, and an 11-game win streak, and a dream season slipping away!"
Rivers wouldve been an Olympic level shotputter
Chargers got revenge on the league by coming back the next year with the #1 offense and #1 defense… and missing the playoffs
Cromartie gave up on that rushing play and didn’t even try to tackle green and then he tried make for it by running fast
Proverbs 11:18
The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.
Antonio Gates played basketball?
Fucking good ol days
Erick Weedle one of the worst tackling safeties in NFL history
People feel bad for the Chargers and their playoff failures, but they’ve always been overconfident and had a bad attitude. Just look at this game.
Yeah sure
Gabriel Camarillo When your all pro kicker can’t hit a 36 and 40 yarder and your linebacker headbutts a player on the jets that turns a field goal into a touchdown and you lose by three fucking points meaning had only one of these actions not being committed you would’ve not lost the game... I like to boil it down to the universe and karma gods striking us down for who knows what. Whatever the reason, it’s truly painful to be a Charger fan
@@lukeferraro01 True
SkyHunterReyna just saying, Chargers are notoriously poorly run, top to bottom
Cheers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers rivalry new jersey jets
LT really pulled a snake move joing the team he lost two
It seems like Kaeding has way more misses than makes in his career. Comic relief kicker. And they still ended up bringing him back after that??? They could have found a better kicker but didn't. All it did was make the team suffer in the long run regardless of who was QB. All those empty possessions by the chargers after successfully moving the ball.......Talk about deflating.
ROLLTIDE
I was excited about Saleh but he needs to step it up. Bringing Mike Lafleur was bad move.
If anyone deserved a shot at the superbowl, it was definitely LT. Gates and Rivers not too far behind.
lag
People blame Kaeding but I blame Rivers. Super inexcusable interception throw in our end zone. And I feel like he was outplayed by dare I say it...Mark Sanchez. He choked in my opinion. Had plenty of opportunities.
An INT that I don't think was converted into 6 wasn't more impactful than leaving 9pts on the board and the momentum that came with it. A kicker only has one job.
@@matt2fresh84 bro he knew just like we all knew Nate Kaeding becomes a magician in the playoffs and disappears. Rivers had to win us that game.
That INT was his only big mistake. He led them on two drives to end the game but Kaeding couldn't do his job.
@gbrow1604 it was the one that cost us the game. You don't put a game on a kicker. Especially one you know is shaky come playoff time.
