@@chrisking6695 its not just musical understanding, its a mixing of all things in a context, look at his filming production, all the instruments that he recorded with very good quality, the vocals that he managed to sing very accurate to the muse singer, and doing this while playing which is something difficult at its own. Analyze all this combined and you still say there is no talent involved to do something like this ?
With the Stranger Things 4 driven re-emergence of this song, there are SO many people doing versions of this. The amazing quality of this one stands alone. The guys from Metallica have been amazing sports about all of it. Their record company might be a different deal though.
Right? He basically yoinked this from Muse and if they ever do cover it, they'll constantly have to ask themselves "yeah, but did we do it better than that youtube video?"
I know that both bands are fans of each other, so I hope they both see this legendary effort. It really gives "Master of Puppets" that Matt Bellamy big government conspiracy paranoia* feel.
He actually even sounds like Matt a few times, especially in his middle register (think 'Take a Bow'). So much of this is Muse without parodying the band; the vocals, the piano interlude, the hat-tip guitar riffs and bass lines. I had fun noticing all the nuances from Muse tracks that I recognize. This is marvellously done!
In my opinion this is one of the best covers ever. It is not just a mere imitation of the original (what most "covers" do) it actually extends over and brings the musical and lyrical content to a completely different experience. Thank you very much for your efforts and for making this available to us. I bow deeply in gratitude and respect.
The point's been driven home that this cover captures the essence of the band and song wonderfully. Props as well for pushing the whole 10-minute song, and not just hammering out a 2-minute "vibes" mix.
As someone who’s all time favorite band is Muse and also loves Metallica, extremely blown away by this. I never imagined I’d hear something so undeniably Muse that wasn’t actually them!! I only hope they see this and recognize your insane talent and deep understanding of their musical styles. :)
Wow, I'm so used to hearing nice work with Karens' screams and other people but somehow I never knew you've got such a beautiful voice yourself to create this new piece of art!
I’m so glad this made it to my explore page a year later. So much of how this song was executed was because you got the little details of what makes Muse, Muse. You were dialed in on this, it fulfilled a fantasy in my head I never knew existed. What would it be like, if Muse covered Metallica. Sublime
This is hands down the best "in the style of Muse" cover that I have seen. The guitar and bass sound the way Muse's do, and they are played the way Muse's are! This isn't just a shallow parody, but rather something from someone who has listened to more than one Muse album.
Andre, you had my curiosity, then you had my attention. Now you have my absolute respect. This is just too good. Im basicly speachless. Musician with the capital M!
I'm a huge Muse fan. This is superb! The vocal impersonation of Matt's style is so good. The bullhorn gave me a good chuckle. This man has done his homework.
I’m an old school Metallica fan, but never listened to Muse. Now I feel like I know Muse’s style, and I’m gonna have to listen to their early stuff now cause I want more. This though, this is on a whole different level. This is a masterpiece unto itself. Not a cover, but an entirely new rendition of a classic song. Amazing dude. Truly amazing.
Muse's newest album (Will of the People) is really, really good! The lead singer described it as “a greatest hits album - of new songs”. It makes a good intro to the band.
Was listening to this and then my wife asks me from another room: “Ah, is that another new Muse song?” 🤣 Mission accomplished! Wish Muse would play a cover this way during a concert once in a while! Great job.
Roll the credits.... How one man can manage something like this is beyond me - it left me speechless and moved me to tears! Best video/song of 2022 for me so far!! TRIPLE A - MA - ZING!
If Muse actually did a cover of Master of Puppets, it wouldn’t sound as much like Muse as this does. Absolutely brilliant interpretation. 5 stars. Go to the top of the ‘in the style of’ class.
This is mostly Absolution vibe - you have prettymuch every song from this album sqashed in here. Especially the solo on the piano sounding like Apocalypse Please is just wow.
As a Muse fan myself (and early Metallica), I’ll just echo what everyone else has said. Truly incredible talent you have and this arrangement is spot on with Muse. Chris’ bass, Matt’s vocals, the Queen harmonies… all just fantastic. Huge props to you sir for putting this out there. If I could give more than one thumbs up I would!
I absolutely love videos like this - I think it takes real skill to be able to nail a bands style so clearly while covering a completely different song haha
I clicked this with high expectations, knowing this guy is talented as hell, and loving the idea of Metallica a'la Muse. Those high expectations weren't nearly high enough, as they were completely blown away. I can say without using hyperbole that this is totally awesome.
At around 6:30, that's how Matt swings his guitar during live performances of Hysteria I also heard hints of Unnatural Selection, Reapers, and Dead Inside
Can't handle how PERFECT this rendition is. I was expecting Metallica with some Muse imitations, but you made a believable arrangement Muse could have made. And the breakdown after the bridge is GLORIOUS. Congrats, Andre!
I'm speechless. This has gotta be a Space Jam type scenario right? You've stolen all the abilities of the Muse members... and produced this otherworldly cover?! Unreal. Amazing work. 👏🔥
Holy cow... Where do I begin on how incredible this is... The vocal and musical stylings, while still keeping that distinct underbelly of Metallica... the constantly whining lead, the percussive bass, the piano in the bridge, the human autotuned vocals which seem to be perpetually harmonizing And not just producing it, actually performing it... People use the word "awesome" like a cheap throw away term... This is F in awesome
I'm recently being reminded of why I listened to so much Muse in high school, it's a period of rediscovery for me. I usually don't click on these "in the style of" videos because it always feels a little off to me but this one... this one is special. I really feel like I'm listening to a lost Muse cover of Master of Puppets. Well don man. 10\10
At first I thought, "It actually sounds like MUSE is doing their own version of Metallica." Then the interlude came and I was like, "Wow, okay! They're taking it seriously!"... Then the solo came and I lost it! This should be an example of what a COVER or TRIBUTE really is! THIS WAS AMAZING!
Dood. I saw the Master of Puppets tour (Cliff forever), and I remember when Muse first hit the scene, and I'm sitting here listening to this having legitimate difficulty not hearing it as an original Muse song. This is so phenomenally well done, and I doubt there's a Metallica fan or Muse fan that would disagree. Just epic.
As a bassist, I only wish we had MORE video of your bass skills! "Slap like now!" For real though, at this point, I am convinced Muse wrote this song for Metallica before travelling back in time, in a Delorian, presenting it to them.

There's always those guys in the comments that are up their own arse, online musicians and their fucking egos man. Just appreciate a composition and move on, no one cares if YOU don't think it's difficult.
This is a work of absolute genius! I really hope Muse & Metallica get to see this, it’s truly incredible!
I hope Metallica does not sue him
With the Stranger Things 4 driven re-emergence of this song, there are SO many people doing versions of this. The amazing quality of this one stands alone. The guys from Metallica have been amazing sports about all of it. Their record company might be a different deal though.
@Jules Dmn that's actually good for metal artists
i love your pic
Slava Cocaina.
This is so perfect I could imagine Matt Bellamy being kind of furious at himself for not doing this first.
Right? He basically yoinked this from Muse and if they ever do cover it, they'll constantly have to ask themselves "yeah, but did we do it better than that youtube video?"
this masterpiece can only come from someone with deep love for both Metallica and Muse ❤
😳 Incredible. This is literally how MUSE would arrange and play it.
I know that both bands are fans of each other, so I hope they both see this legendary effort. It really gives "Master of Puppets" that Matt Bellamy big government conspiracy paranoia* feel.
Holy shit, no kidding!
The "big government conspiracy *fact" feel is what Master of puppets needed tbh 👍👌
@@tomasschuman6576 as the old saying goes _"just because you're paranoid doesn't the government is _*_not_*_ after you"._
It’s giving micro cuts and psycho with a pinch of exo-politics
@@silentpoem definitely could be a B-side between Origin and Absolution. 👌
And then he started singing....... is there ANYTHING he can't do?
Right! Lol
Lol same! He really nailed all aspects and what's cool is that it still sounds awesome
He can't stop playing guitar. 😂
He can`t find not cool jacket, apparently.
This is legit Chuck Norris territory
This is my candidate for best thing ever
He actually even sounds like Matt a few times, especially in his middle register (think 'Take a Bow'). So much of this is Muse without parodying the band; the vocals, the piano interlude, the hat-tip guitar riffs and bass lines. I had fun noticing all the nuances from Muse tracks that I recognize. This is marvellously done!
Oh yea. He really nails all the nuances. Bravo
Fucking flawless!!
ua-cam.com/video/g-P30WJ3j40/v-deo.html
how about this?
He sounds maybe 80% like Matt almost the whole song :D (except when the soft part starts)
How is this even humanly possible? Sick stuff, this video has to break 10 mil views at least.
I feel like this may have been in the works for a while. IMO should turn out to be most watched vid of his.
In my opinion this is one of the best covers ever. It is not just a mere imitation of the original (what most "covers" do) it actually extends over and brings the musical and lyrical content to a completely different experience. Thank you very much for your efforts and for making this available to us. I bow deeply in gratitude and respect.
this is up there with that dude that played sober by tool but sang the lyrics to maraih carey's all i want for christmas! ....check that one out!
Yeah, i felt That way too, the only difference is That ny favourite band is Metallica and One of my favourites is Muse
I just hope Muse will see that performance and takes example for their future music.
And it's much better than recent Muse production.
And it's much better than recent Muse production.
I'm willing to bet even Muse would have a hard a time turning this song into their style. Amazing!
I would love to witness their fail.
Sublime
Now we need MUSE covering SUBLIME!
Muse covering Metallica does not equal Sublime.
This is hands down the best "in the style of Muse" cover that I have seen. The guitar and bass sound the way Muse's do, and they are played the way Muse's are! This isn't just a shallow parody, but rather something from someone who has listened to more than one Muse album.
or maybe someone who has listened to Absolution way too many times xD
Andre, you had my curiosity, then you had my attention. Now you have my absolute respect. This is just too good. Im basicly speachless. Musician with the capital M!
BOOM!
I'm a huge Muse fan. This is superb! The vocal impersonation of Matt's style is so good. The bullhorn gave me a good chuckle. This man has done his homework.
me tooooo
For those who also wondered, a bullhorn is another name for a megaphone.
I don't think I have ever found of a better example of "In the style of..." covers yet. This is seriously such a great cover.
Please do: first 5 albums especially
Start with Showbiz, Origin of Symmetry, absolution, black holes and revelations…
@@marsdust332 the lead singer of every band always describes the new album that way
You look like my teacher
Did you just merge my 2 favorites bands together??? Just wow. Chills down my spine
thought the same!! Amazing job here
Total chills.
Same here !!
Fucking amazing.
Was listening to this and then my wife asks me from another room: “Ah, is that another new Muse song?” 🤣 Mission accomplished!
Wish Muse would play a cover this way during a concert once in a while! Great job.
Haha the same thing happened to me! I thought my wife was taking a nap and then she called out thinking it was muse!
Did she like it?
@@zofrixfreeride1504 that makes us 6? I guess hahaha same thing!
that base line in the interlude is MAJESTIC!!
5 stars. Go to the top of the ‘in the style of’ class.
exactly, although is is what master of puppets might have sounded like if Muse would've written it.
All they're left with is to simply play this version.
Very cool version and great quality as always from Andre! Finally get to hear his voice!
I really expected to hear more Scandinavian(?) accent, but he sounds just like a bruv. 🤣
Nevermind, I was way off haha. Portugal is definitely not Scandinavian. The metal threw me off.
this is amazing. Literally the best thing i´ve listened in the last months
Definitely gives me a “Hysteria” vibe, and those vocals are just ridiculously accurate, amazing job man! :)
This is mostly Absolution vibe - you have prettymuch every song from this album sqashed in here. Especially the solo on the piano sounding like Apocalypse Please is just wow.
And during the first verse, it reminded me a lot of "Thoughts o a Dying Atheist"
Different parts of the song have different influences so the start of the song has some Hysteria vibes and then it takes influences from other songs
The first verse actually remindex me of Micro Cuts a lot.
The bass line in the intro game my futurism vibes
Sounds 100% legit in Muse' style. Amazing arrangement, great vocals, holy crap you are talented.
very very talented
As a fan of MUSE and Metallica, I say "We love your work". We need more song like this.
DEF!
you talking about unforgiven
you talking about unforgiven
Relateable
This is brilliant. The only thing missing is the massive breaths Matt takes between each word.
Would be cool to hear Chop Suey in the style of Muse. This was amazing!
Yes! But I think Toxicity might work better
I agree!!!!
No
I ended up in tears bro 😭 excellent job! Hope you get to play with Muse one day 🔥🤟
I clicked this with high expectations, knowing this guy is talented as hell, and loving the idea of Metallica a'la Muse. Those high expectations weren't nearly high enough, as they were completely blown away. I can say without using hyperbole that this is totally awesome.
0:00 -- Hysteria
0:34 -- Micro Cuts [guitar] + Sing for Absolution [vocals]
2:14 -- Feeling Good
4:03 -- Algorithm
4:58 -- Explorers
5:22 -- Apocalypse Please
5:42 -- Exogenesis: Symphony Pt. 1
6:09 -- Dead Star
The riff at 8:29 seems directly inspired from the handler
9:18 unnatural selection 🤘
I was waiting for this comment) Thanks a lot!
Greetings from Ukraine!
@@jamez470 hmm, maybe.. even vocals are slowed down and sync out of beat a little, which is similar to The Handler's bridge (3rd verse)
At around 6:30, that's how Matt swings his guitar during live performances of Hysteria
I also heard hints of Unnatural Selection, Reapers, and Dead Inside
Can't handle how PERFECT this rendition is. I was expecting Metallica with some Muse imitations, but you made a believable arrangement Muse could have made. And the breakdown after the bridge is GLORIOUS. Congrats, Andre!
This even matches the theme of Muse's lyrics pretty well
Another comment put it best: the same words, but suddenly it's about government oppression/authoritarianism rather than drug abuse
@TheHobatron The muse effect
He sounds more like Muse than Muse, this is an amazing rendition....
I second this comment.
I would say that sounds like old muse, more like "Absolution" to "Black holes and revelations" era.
Someone should have Matt watch this. He could learn a few things on how to make music now. Ever since Simulation Theory was out, Muse kind of died
Blasphemy. But yeah you right..
@@alanarkham143 They went downhill after The Resistance.
We need Muse and Metallica to do a double album together covering each other's songs. I'm blown away with the amount of awesomeness.
New favorite Muse song. Glad you went with old school Metallica as a template. This is epic.
Added this to my Muse playlist.
If I'd hear this arrangement in a radio, I would be totally convinced that the Muse have made the best cover of MoP ever. Stunning! Respect! 👍
I'm speechless. This has gotta be a Space Jam type scenario right? You've stolen all the abilities of the Muse members... and produced this otherworldly cover?!
Unreal. Amazing work. 👏🔥
Seriously. Skills level: yes
Probably the best song cover ever posted on youtube.
The thumbnail is just perfection. Combining thw two album covers in this way is brilliant.
Holy cow... Where do I begin on how incredible this is... The vocal and musical stylings, while still keeping that distinct underbelly of Metallica... the constantly whining lead, the percussive bass, the piano in the bridge, the human autotuned vocals which seem to be perpetually harmonizing
And not just producing it, actually performing it... People use the word "awesome" like a cheap throw away term... This is F in awesome
The only master here is Andre. This is superb! And of all the Metallica songs you could execute with, you chose this. Fantastic. Every bit of this.
Wowwwwwwwwwwwww fantastico , veramente venuta benissimo .
Masterpiece! I really hope that both Muse and Metallica get to see this.
Why am I singing along flawlessly 1st time? Didn't know I knew Muse so well
I'm recently being reminded of why I listened to so much Muse in high school, it's a period of rediscovery for me. I usually don't click on these "in the style of" videos because it always feels a little off to me but this one... this one is special. I really feel like I'm listening to a lost Muse cover of Master of Puppets. Well don man. 10\10
Oh same man. Muse are awesome. Have you heard any of their new songs too?
Just epic.
Have to get Muse cover the song then compare.
It sounds too metal to be a Muse song in itself
As a bassist, I only wish we had MORE video of your bass skills! "Slap like now!" For real though, at this point, I am convinced Muse wrote this song for Metallica before travelling back in time, in a Delorian, presenting it to them.
MARTY THEY FIGURED IT OUT WE HAVE TO GO BACK
When Im not looking at the screen, it sounds like Matt is actually singing.
Bravo.
Literally thought it was a dub of Matt
lol no, vocal so different, but atmosphere and vibe is 101% Muse
This is the first video I’ve seen where you’re singing… you’re immensely talented my man!
I didn't even know he spoke haha
@@juliomendonca4656 😅

Agreed! Complete genius!
The transition from the middle keyboard to the main theme is genius
