back at the end of 2018 I also bought 2.... for my 2 daughters, both silver 200C 3.6L AWD with all the options with Nappa leather with real wood one with black interiors and the second with cream... they had around 30K miles when purchased also purchased the lifetime Mopar warranty so I told my daughters, here you have your Chrysler's! for life! I drive a 300C and my wife an Aspen... other than replacing the full set of shocks and struts to both cars (paid only 100 each as deductible) and new brake pads and tires.... both have been trouble free! also paid around $38K for both including the lifetime warranty.. was a tremendous deal These are Alfa Romeos with Chrysler body and engine... the calipers and some chasis parts have the Alfa Romeo logo stamped on them... love love love the leather on both... nice cars
Just bought one yesterday. Sleek, aerodynamic, and a really smooth ride. I bought the 4 cylinder. It's a gas sipper. We've put 100 miles on the car since yesterday and we still have almost a full tank. And a very large trunk. Not what I went in looking for, but with all the rebates and at $22K I couldn't pass it up. The designers did a good job and I don't feel like I'm driving a "girly" car".
Devin Wofford LOL I have a 2015 200s with the Tigershark engine and I love it. 36k miles and getting about 31-36 MPG Highway and about 29-30 mpg mixed.
The Camry, Accord, Altima and Sonata have sterilized American expectations of cars so much that at this point, all they expect is to get from point A to point B - prefferably without breaking down. None of these schlubs know what a driving experience is till they rent a RWD with more than 275 horsepower. The 200 is going to be a great car. The features are roughly equal to the 300, Charger and JEEP Cherokee which means you won't miss out on tech. No one else in the segment gives you a V6 with AWD anymore for less than $35,000.
Well said! Another thing that I think is REALLY sad, is that Chrysler is one of the few companies anymore that still offers a full size, V8 powered, RWD sedan. Ford REFUSES to use anything bigger than a V6 anymore which I think is stupid. They swear by the Ecoboost engines which don't get me wrong are good, but they really can't build a proper replacement for the Crown Vic, or offer a V8 for the Taurus? GM finally came out with the SS which is a nice car but I think they need to put a V8 in the new Impala. They did such a nice job with that car and all it comes with is a V6 or a 4 cylinder. I mean come on, put a V8 in that car like it deserves!! The true full size cars are a dying bread. Shame.
Ford was first of the Big3 to embrace the fuel economy mandates placed on it by the government. The government mandates are the real reason the V8 is being killed.
mhtube01 I think the dying breed...is you. The Impala, which is apparently a great car, doesn't deserve a V8 anyway unless they decide to put AWD in it and make a special version of it. A V8 and FWD? What for?
Maestro_T I forgot to mention that. I wouldn't want a FWD V8 car at all. They would absolutely have to make it AWD or it would be even cooler if they made the Impala RWD again just like the good old days. But then, that virtually eliminates the need for the SS, unless you prefer that over the Impala. I'm going to take what you said as a compliment. I'm old fashioned with cars so yes, I am a dying breed. I'm surrounded by people that only care about fuel economy and safety in cars. Or they just buy the base, 4 cylinder with no options cause that's all they need to get from point A to point B. I on the other hand love cars that perform. I hate cars that are boring to drive and have no personality. I want something that I'll look forward to driving, something that's fast, looks good and sounds good but still has good practicality (at least for an every day driver.) Classic cars are my favorite though. I love the big V8 powered, RWD boats like old Cadillacs and Buicks. They were awesome cars. But at the same time I love muscle cars and sports cars. So yes, I am a dying breed and I'm proud of it!
My wife and i bought a 200c i have an infiniti and a gti and i gotta tell you this car has balls, lots of amenities i think chrysler gained back my respect.
I saw this car at the Toronto Auto Show and literally came back to the booth seven times to look at the gorgeous lines and sit in it again. This video in the rain does not do this car justice, it has beautiful lines, and the interior when compared to the other contenders I sat in at the show, was hands down the best. Really excited to test drive this car when our local dealer gets one. I check every week. Going to trade my Grand Marquis in (wife allowing) and get this. Perfect family car with the extra goodies I want. I specially like that you can pick and choose the options, you aren't forced to buy things (like nav) that you don't want. Really impressed with this ride!
The exhaust note really sounds good for a family sedan....very nice accelerating away at WOT, and I think it looks pretty damn slick for a new Chrysler sedan, I'd love to drive one. Yay Chrysler!
I bought the 2015 200 C AWD 3.6 liter, on 19 inch alloy wheels, in black with white interior. This is a head Turner! And honestly, I have to pull back off the line in sport mode, using the paddle shifters. I've had her 3 months and I'm still learning all the integration of futuristic driving. Same collision warnings and brake as a Lexus in heavy traffic. Same lane assist without using brake technology, but rather electronic steering assistance without over powering the driver. The adaptive cruise control with sonar slows as you approach a slower vehicle ahead, then resumes. And the Uconnect technology alone will make you smile in traffic. Well worth the sticker price of 36k. Best and most beautiful car I've ever owned.
Wow. Very nice car. This would be the car I'd buy if I were in the market for a luxury car. I actually really liked the Chrysler 200 that this new one replaces.
I really liked it too. My parents leased a 2014 Super S Premium model back at the end of January and I actually really like that car. It does have some hints of the old Chrysler in it like the old Uconnect system, which is incredibly dated compared to the new 8.4 inch screen system that I have in my 2013 Dodge Dart. The old one lags and looks older, the new one has virtually no lag and is pretty much the best system out there in my opinion. It's just so intuitive and easy to figure out. The 200's system does the job though. I like the rest of the interior, I think it's classy and quality is overall way better than the Sebring. The new one really steps it up though. The Pentastar V6 is an awesome engine too. Extremely smooth, powerful, and quiet but at the same time when you rev it high, it has a nice roar to it. You do get a lot of torque steer if you gun it from a stop but I think it adds to the fun. Overall it's a nice driver with great ride quality. I'm anxious to drive the new one with AWD with the V6, no torque steer there and probably better handling. We got a REALLY good deal on ours though so we couldn't pass it up!
Very nice looking and in a way its a style Chrysler has never done. Looks more like a Audi front end and from the rear a Aston Martin. Well done Chrysler.
To me, this takes me back to the late-90s Cloud Cars and the entire '95-99 run of the Chrysler brand. Soft floating elegance, most modern & practical design, and still enough grunt in the mechanics to bitch-slap the high-selling sheep-mobiles.
The 9 speed automatic transmission is made by ZF in Germany. It shifts much quicker than you think. And this transmission has different modes, such as economy, normal, and sport modes. The first six gears are for sporty driving, and the last three gears are for fuel economy. The ratios on this transmission are closer, so the transmission shifts smoothly.
Aaron77wil And i guess I should clarify... fiat italy based, car german manufacture. Just show yoi dont blast me. Oh and good for your mom for working in the Auborn Hills plant lol. Surprised she foind work in "murica"
I saw it in Detroit and Toronto too ... Miles away from the old one and that interior is just great, truly luxurious and futuristic without being gimmicky.
I'm renting one these and boy is it BEAUTIFUL! Well done Chrysler. my only 2 gripes about this car is you'll need duck down if you're above 5'2 when getting into the back seats and the mirrors are small other than that totally worth getting
Marty McFly I don't agree with him, but I think what he's trying to say is that Subaru's are like toilets. That could mean a lot of things - they're trash or they're appliances.
Drive the 200S AWD and tell us if it is an actual sport sedan contender. I'm still trying to wrap my head around paddle shifting through 9 gears though.
penvon No...they did. And I am saying at this price, I will take a 200. It's luxurious, easy to drive, and looks better than many Lexus models twice its price.
Chrysler flew these two Morons out there so they'll say anything for a quick buck. While everyone has their own opinion on the looks of the lexus,do you honestly believe these Chryslers will be worth anything after 5-10yrs? Everyone knows Chrysler is at the bottom when it comes to reliability, you honestly think these Italians will change that? That car won't last & resale is going to be a joke.
penvon Morons, really? That's kind of rude. Also, I HIGHLY doubt they are saying anything just because they were flown in to shoot a video. Their reputation and honest opinions are what keep them in business, not friendly ties with a certain car manufacturer. Onto the main point: "While everyone has their own opinion on the looks of the lexus" That's exactly my point. FLC implied that this is the poor man's Lexus. I am offering my personal opinion otherwise. This is a VERY nice package and I am sure with the recent uptick in reliability numbers from Chrysler, it will hold down its value well. Lexus is hands down more reliable and less vulnerable to depreciation but it is also much more expensive with, in my opinion, a slightly higher level of comfort and luxury that is not worth the initial price tag.
Okay maybe I went a little overboard with the Morons comment, but whenever Chrysler flies These guys over to review a car I can't trust their opinion. I just don't get why they didn't say it's the poor mans Cadillac or poor mans Benz.I only drive Lexus & for these guys to even mention Lexus while driving in a Chrysler is disrespectful. Lexus=The pursuit of Perfection. Chrysler=The Pursuit of trying to last 5 yrs on the road without breaking down.
I own the Dart which is the most bang for the buck in the most competitive sector. Just sit inside a fully-loaded one and you'll understand what I mean. I'm drooling over this 200, I can't wait to get one!
Urban Freedom Magazine after what recall? I have a 2015 200s with 36,000 miles and I love it. Although i wish I would have gotten the V6 though. Great value but transmission can be a little annoying at times in normal mode. Sport mode is perfect and it holds gears perfectly for spirited driving in canyons or going up hills. A lot of car for the money.
Very nice car! But it just seems to me that manufacturers are just throwing gears in to better fuel economy I mean 9 speeds? Wouldn't the car be searching for gears constantly? Trying to optimize fuel economy. I rather have a cvt then 9speeds and that's my opinion
A twin turbo would be a great sport model, but as chrysler is more of a sophisticated adult brand, I'd say this should represent thier image wonderfully.
The rear end of this car looks vaguely reminiscent of an Audi A5 + A7, and I really like it. The front end looks almost like a Kia, however, and I think they should make it a little more refined. Otherwise, I really like this car; with its powerful engine and great quality interior you can't go wrong...
I had been reading about the new 200 in the car magazines and am glad I got to see this car review. You guys gave the car a great review. I really think Chrysler has stepped up their game. I recently owned a 2011 Dodge Avenger and people really don't give the Avenger and the 200 very much credit. I have owned a lot of different cars in my 20 years of driving and the Chrysler cars are made really good nowadays. Hopefully soon I can get back into a Chrysler/Dodge product.
Niko Singh That's fully loaded, and is very competitive in it's class. Also, don't forget the class-exclusive features like the 9 speed, AWD with a full disconnecting drivetrain, and the class-leading V6 with 295 HP.
Nicely redone and agree with many ppl previous comments. I definitely see Lincoln MKZ In its design, especially from the rear quarter views....along with other automotive brand design ques.
I think Chrysler made a decent and competitive product here.they focused on key areas like design and bringing a modern refined 4cylinder option to the 200 with better gas mileage.I also think the non cvt path they chose might net them more customers because cvts are boring and still have some reliability issues .they also priced it competitively .I could actually see these selling more than the Malibu.
This car is way better looking than any Luxes, I wouldn't touch Luxes if you pay me, boring and ugly. 200's interior is about as good as the Audi's but more interesting and modern, only interior can compete with it is probably Fusion's in that price range. Exterior is smooth, and streamlined, almost Teslaish. I think this is the best midsize sedan Chrysler has made so far.
Not bad Chrysler! I saw this car in the show and rear end looks almost identical to Audi S5. Still, Accord, Mazda 6 and Ford Fusion look better than this car. Hopefully Chrysler worked on quality because they are horrible!!! Camry, even though i own an 07, looks terrible, sorry, it just does.
You say it looks subdue, you even called it a grown up Dart, but this car looks amazing. It appears that Chrysler is trying to make an affordable and elegant entry level luxury family car. - I like it. Sure it could "pop" more, but it looks as if it defiantly accomplishes its goal in which it was intended for.
I now really want to test drive one of these. I just had a '13 200 for a week as a rental. It was horrendous and maybe this can change my new view of Chrysler lol.
They should have included auto start/stop so the engine stops when the car stops at least. They put in a 9 speed automatic, they might as well include auto start/stop too.
danwat1234 It actually has a stop start. For me its a little annoying. For instance, when I am coming to an onramp during traffic there is a light that tells you when to enter traffic. Sometimes when I get to the light it turns green immediately, but because I was slowing to a stop my engine turned off. So what happens is there is a fraction of a second delay until my vehicle starts accelerating. I naturally try to compensate with more gas, then my wheels spin when I do get the engine back. One thing I am a little disappointed in is the gas mileage with the V4. Its definitely geared for the mileage test and not actual mileage. If I do a constant 65 MPH, I will see over 38 MPG. If I go 80 its around 32 MPG. On surface streets its in the mid-20s. Average its around 30-32. On the other hand my old 2002 Dodge Stratus would get over 40 MPG when I go a constant 80, and 25 MPG average with a similar V4. The MPG really comes down to the vehicle weight, aerodynamics, and gearing. Sometimes I wish this got more MPG at higher speeds, but having good MPG at lower speeds will help in everyday driving. Also if you are concerned about MPG, I would probably not get this iteration. Its a very very lovely car, but something in my gut is telling me they will put the 3.0L turbo diesel into this and challenge the Passat in 2016/2017.
Kevin Smith I wonder if the gear ratio on a '02 Stratus is very low (engine spins slowly at highway speeds) to achieve such numbers. Glad to know it has auto start/stop. No button to disable it if you wish? I trust it is very quiet? For me I think a used red Chevy Volt sounds good.
+Kevin Smith I managed 32mpg highway with cruise. The only trick is too get up to 72mph so it falls into final overdrive which is ridiculous seeing as the gear is good down to 55mph.. Terrible design. This car could benefit from a manual shift button, so you could hold the gear. I also had problems with the oversensitive brakes, slight touch means 0 engagement and slightly more meant full engagement. Also, it would randomly slam on the Ebrake at a slow cruise which is VERY dangerous. Edit: I drove the 4 cylinder engine. Also my engine never stopped but it did have a serious delay on the highway when WOT.
You can manual shift in higher tier models with the sport mode. I never had your other issues. My E-Brake comes on when I tell it. My brakes were linear, but would not activate as soon as I would want. I think its because I am used to my truck brakes that were upgraded significantly.
I rented the 200 2012-13? for 5 days and it was so loaded with a moonroof. I loved it so much that I priced one when I got back and it was $24000 and I could have had it as low as $22000 with the 2013s rolling in but I just couldn't part with my 2010 Wrangler. It was super quiet, smooooooth ride, handled great and the mpg was good enough when buying petrol by the liter where I was. Now it's been completely changed and along with a bigger engine, tack on $10,000 with no moonroof. Dang. I'm sorry I let the one I was checking out get away.
I think this car's direct competitor is the Buick Verano, which is in a no-sales market segment of its own, but now premium brands are reaching down with cars like, CLA and A3, which are definitely similar in terms of size and premium feel, buyers may cross compare them, but 200 and Verano will still be cheaper than the premium German brands
I have had a Chrysler Sebring 2008 for the past 5 years, bought it new. I must say this new 200 looks great, and the big engine ....that would be great. I will say that I have really enjoyed my 2008...loaded and goes rather nice...but I do like the new 200
Are you guys okay? Great review, my father is looking to get this, so I was doing some research, but the last few newer videos I've seen of you guys I've witnessed some tension. Problems? I hope not, you guys do honest good reviews!
Hey TFL, how was the 9 speed transmission on this 200? I know the Cherokee had some question marks but it seems like neither of you had an issue with its performance. Keep up with the awesome reviews!
Like rental car ready? No, the old Chrysler 200 was pretty much designed to be a mainstay of the rental car lot. Not just LIKE rental car ready, but Rental Car Ready.
Heard on the news today of a guy who financed one of these for 8yrs (I kid you not).8yrs & the cost at the end of the loan would've been $56000 Canadian. The guy passed away & his wife couldn't afford & the news report made Chrysler buy it back....Who would've thought someone would finance a Chrysler & end up paying $56k @ the end?
Not too long ago that MSRP was close to new first gen 300C money before AWD and options. Balance the two vs. performance, practicality, initial cost, insurance, parts, upkeep, reliability, ETC. and I'd go with the 300
With the gear ratio spread of a 9 speed and 295hp you'd think it should run 0-60 in less than 6 seconds, not almost 7 seconds. Look at a VW Passat CC, with a similarly powered V6 but in a heavier car and it runs 0-60 in 5.5 seconds all day long.
Did Chrysler just ace the test in the mid size car segment?!?! All signs seem to point to yes. HOWEVER, no Chrysler is SUPPOSED TO BE a luxury brand. Throw this new 200 against the Acuras, Buick Regal, Lincoln McZephyr, Whatever the Altima-based Infiniti is, and any other FWD plush/luxury car in the $30-45k range. Don't launch it against the Sonata--throw it against the Azera.
This is supposed to read: "HOWEVER, no--Chrysler is SUPPOSED TO BE a luxury brand..." (I really wish UA-cam/Google+ had an edit feature for comments.) Meaning, I'm glad the car is at least a B+; however, Chrysler still has quite a way to fight to become a true luxury brand once again. I'm hoping the next generation of this car is dedicated RWD with AWD as an option. Chrysler needs this car to compete against BMW 3-Series, Audi A4, Cadillac CTS...something it currently can't do. As great as this car might be (and I'm glad it is getting better), this is still an uphill battle for Chrysler to become a power player in the REAL world of luxury automobile marques.
Houston Yellow cab has the 2014 version of this car, only bad thing for TALL Texans, is back door does not have the head clearance the Ford Crown Vic's had (Crown Vic's being replaced due to age & mileage, city ordinance requires cabs not be more than 5 years old.).. The ride on the cab's is quite smooth, but is more cramped than the cabs that these are replacing.
It's a gorgeous car from any angle, inside and out. My only complaint about the styling is that the rear looks like a more attractive version of the new Impala's tush. That's hardly a complaint though. My only reservation about the car is the 9-speed auto. That's an awful lot of gears and things to go wrong.
The Chrysler/Dodge brand is doing big things right now. Im very impressed with the new styling and mechanical workings of the lineup. RAM 8 speed and a diesel, Grand Cherokee's are marvels, UConnect is probably the best multimedia centre and now this beautiful 200! Great job by Chrysler/Fiat. I believe Fiat has brought great european innovation and attention to detail to North America that lacked in years past. Very impressed and looking forward to more!
It looks so great! Though nit a big fan of a transverse V6 in a supposed luxury car (not a fan of anything more than 4 cylinders in a transverse configuration).
Hey The Fast Lane Car , I heard @ this event that Chrysler had the AWD 200S and AWD 200C as well. Did you drive either of those, and will there be videos if so? I know, I don't want to spoil your vids to come, but it'd be nice to know to look out for those in the coming days!
Allan, that price is "as tested". Keep in mind that there are many trim levels that can be purchased. This car IS a serious contender. Educate yourself before spewing ignorance. Cheers!
Chrysler has long built reputation of building bad quality cars. Poor parts quality, poor fit and finish with massive breakdown rate. Many people who got burned by Chrysler, wont even consider buying one.
Well if you take a look, this car basically has the same price range as any of those cars! Base model for low $20K's and top of the line for low-mid $30K's
The front resembles my old 2001 300M. This car is heavier than mine and its faster than mine and not to mention stronger than my 3.5L engine. Keep up the good work Chrysler ^_^ Please put the 8 speed on the Hemi for the new 300 ;)
Not a bad attempt. Let's see if the 9 speed automatic is reliable and lasts past 60K miles. Their transmissions of the past 20 years have left a lot to be desired.
They really haven't, tbh. They weren't always the most efficient things but they were quite reliable as long as you didn't put freaking dextron in them...which unfortunately happened waaay too often.
Almost 35K for a small Chrysler sedan??? Guys, get real. 2 years later NOBODY will pay for your car more than 5K. Lift up any 2 year old Chrysler and see how it looks like underneath. Compare with any 10 year old GM or Toyota.
Actually, my dad has a 2002 dodge Dakota, never had any problems with the truck whatsoever, we've one done regular maintenance such as tires , batteries and you know what I mean, so you better shut your mouth unless you've owned one for that long.
Matthew Martinez, you've never opened my mouth, so don't shut it. I've owned Grand Am GT '03 for 8 years and I was proud of it. Car served well - must I say we have tonns of salt on a road in a winter time? Now I have CTS - yes, I am a fan of GM. And what I see about Chryslers - rust, no reliability, value loss, no sales. Company is trying to compensate losses by increasing prices... This little Chrysler costs as much as a new ATS. If you are stupid enough to make a wrong choice - it's your problem.
It's like the old days. What do you drive? I drive a Chrysler.....could be the stripper model, could be the most equipped, but they're all the same size.
Finally something luxurious and affordable Dodge/ Chrysler is making good move im actually gonna consider buying this 200 cause if you think about if chrysler keep this up they'll sell more cars in five years than any other brand like ford/ chevy and maybe even toyota, now if they could only do that with there trucks they'll when in that category as well
Huge step...alright jump from its predecessor in looks and interior. A7 rear is nicely imitated as is the Fusion profile. Still look back at my Optima when parked. My favorite since it's not so reminiscent of so many others.
Just bought a 200C AWD with every possible upgrade for $14,000!! I’m super excited about driving this car for the next couple years
back at the end of 2018 I also bought 2.... for my 2 daughters, both silver 200C 3.6L AWD with all the options with Nappa leather with real wood one with black interiors and the second with cream... they had around 30K miles when purchased also purchased the lifetime Mopar warranty so I told my daughters, here you have your Chrysler's! for life! It’s been 84 years.... do you still like it?

Audi front end? Where? They were probably inspired by Tesla Model S.
"Grown up Dart"....good analogy, and I don't think it's a bad thing at all. This is a really nice car. Chrysler did a great job.
lol a dart grown up
really like that styling ,great looking car
This car looks very nice. Seriously giving Toyota and Honda a run for their money. Wow, well done Detroit.
There not made in detroit anymore... They are now considered a domestic import.
Detroit is the best. Eminem and Chrysler.
Aaron77wil so tjeu made a small amount in the states... doesnt change the fact they are mass producing them in germany... fiat owned as well.
Aaron77wil And i guess I should clarify... fiat italy based, car german manufacture. Just show yoi dont blast me. Oh and good for your mom for working in the Auborn Hills plant lol. Surprised she foind work in "murica"
Looks really good I'd say
I saw it in Detroit and Toronto too ... Miles away from the old one and that interior is just great, truly luxurious and futuristic without being gimmicky.
Great video guys, hope to see you test drive the 200s.
Love the interior. I have the 2014 200 Super S. It's a speed demon compared to other mid size sedans trust me
I'm renting one these and boy is it BEAUTIFUL! Well done Chrysler. my only 2 gripes about this car is you'll need duck down if you're above 5'2 when getting into the back seats and the mirrors are small other than that totally worth getting
I own all Toyota's. But damn this thing looks good!
Check out the 2015 Subaru Legacy, I think it looks better and it gets better fuel economy with AWD
Marty McFly Subarus are road commodes
What do you mean?
Marty McFly I don't agree with him, but I think what he's trying to say is that Subaru's are like toilets. That could mean a lot of things - they're trash or they're appliances.
They seem to be growing year after year and can barely keep up with demand. So I guess people buy trash.
Got a good AWD 200 S Perfect for me Been a jeep guy and driving this feels like a luxury at the same time I can feel the V6 engine
Drive the 200S AWD and tell us if it is an actual sport sedan contender. I'm still trying to wrap my head around paddle shifting through 9 gears though.
Yeah you will be shifting all day lol
"For those who can't afford a Lexus?"
I would personally get this over a lot of Lexus models.
How dare you mix this BS with a Lexus?
penvon No...they did.
Onto the main point:
"While everyone has their own opinion on the looks of the lexus"
That's exactly my point.
Lexus=The pursuit of Perfection.
Just bought my own. A beautiful car! I love it, so luxurious, so smooth.
the car still running good for you? :o
+spawn1324 Different account here, but, yep still running amazing.:)
still love it? Interested in current reviews after recall
I just test drove a 2016 200S yesterday and clocked a 0-60 in 6.0 seconds flat, but it was really hot, tires were grippy, really nice car.
Very nice car! But it just seems to me that manufacturers are just throwing gears in to better fuel economy I mean 9 speeds? Wouldn't the car be searching for gears constantly? Trying to optimize fuel economy. I rather have a cvt then 9speeds and that's my opinion
That Pentastar engine looks like a pretty decent engine. I like it!
Best part is the 200 is always part of a rental car fleet, making it easy to test drive the car more thoroughly.
I have to say Chrysler is doing a pretty good job with their vehicles now. I'm impressed. Keep it up.
I love this car, the interior looks amazing and the car itself looks amazing, I'm definitely going to buy this model.
Really nice looking car.
I love everything about this car, except for the rotary shifter, but Im digging the whole styling of it
That is a nice looking car!
Damn good lookin car. I like it!
Finally! A 7+ speed transmission where 1st and 2nd are very short and improves acceleration! Kudos Chrysler!!
Giving credit where due, Good looking car.
Nevermind 34K?? Over-priced
Niko Singh That's fully loaded, and is very competitive in it's class. Also, don't forget the class-exclusive features like the 9 speed, AWD with a full disconnecting drivetrain, and the class-leading V6 with 295 HP.
Amazing how much has changed in 3 years. As they said, it was a competitive market for midsized sedans then. Now they say they can't sell these.
that is so creepy because yesterday when I watched your last video I was thinking about when you guys were going to drive the new 200
Nicely redone and agree with many ppl previous comments. I definitely see Lincoln MKZ In its design, especially from the rear quarter views....along with other automotive brand design ques.
Love the new Chrysler 200 . great review guys . thank you
I think Chrysler made a decent
and competitive product here.they focused on key areas like design and bringing a modern refined 4cylinder option to the 200 with better gas mileage.I also think the non cvt path they chose might net them more customers because cvts are boring and still have some reliability issues .they also priced it competitively .I could actually see these selling more than the Malibu.
Great sounding engine. Like Nathan, I'm surprised how throaty it is. Well done Chrysler.
Nice car. Best in class right there with Fusion, IMO.
I like this .9 spd automatic+all the power EXELENT
That's not a bad price at all kudos to Chrysler really nice looking vehicle
Its nice exept for the grill
Where in Kentucky were you guys? You forgot about the Bourbon Nathan!
Do a review on the 200 s the sport model :)
nice car, could use a little more rear leg room but over all good job Chrysler.
I now really want to test drive one of these. I just had a '13 200 for a week as a rental. It was horrendous and maybe this can change my new view of Chrysler lol.
Wow!! Something nice to come out of Chrysler
I will say that I have really enjoyed my 2008...loaded and goes rather nice...but I do like the new 200
Slightly older? Oh come on, I want this car haha... ;)
Nice looking car !
Didn't learn how it handled twisting roads or challenging maneuvers from your video. The animals were cute, though.
Like rental car ready? No, the old Chrysler 200 was pretty much designed to be a mainstay of the rental car lot. Not just LIKE rental car ready, but Rental Car Ready.
For the price, this looks pretty darn good. I wanna try the 200S AWD
Love the more subdued review.
that car sounds awesome
It looks like a concept Aston Martin 4 door sedan with the big logo like it too
Not too long ago that MSRP was close to new first gen 300C money before AWD and options.
Look at a VW Passat CC, with a similarly powered V6 but in a heavier car and it runs 0-60 in 5.5 seconds all day long.
not in their real world test!
Clay Martin He's using OP logic.
Clay Martin youtube wont let me thumbs up this comment and this comment only. thumbs up.....dam google
Passat sucks.... the AWD 200S witht he v6 does 5.8 ...... thats Charger RT times... and knocking on the doors of Audi....
David MuscleGuy Yes in real world tests, look it up, I don't just quote manufacturer specifications.
This is supposed to read: "HOWEVER, no--Chrysler is SUPPOSED TO BE a luxury brand..." (I really wish UA-cam/Google+ had an edit feature for comments.)
Meaning, I'm glad the car is at least a B+; however, Chrysler still has quite a way to fight to become a true luxury brand once again.
Rob Heathers I agree there should be a RWD option. I guess they are saving that for the 300.
This car tops out at ~$35,000 and it starts in the low $20's?? How is that competing with all those luxury brands?
asdbs11 Seeing as how an Audi and BMW start around 35kish for the basic model, I'd say 35k for a fully loaded car is damn competitive.
My daughter just bought one and it is a really nice car. Wish i seen it before I bought my Sonata.
It's a gorgeous car from any angle, inside and out. My only complaint about the styling is that the rear looks like a more attractive version of the new Impala's tush. That's hardly a complaint though. My only reservation about the car is the 9-speed auto. That's an awful lot of gears and things to go wrong.
Check engine light didn't go on? How odd
great job for fiat group for a product that seems to be the new benchmark in its category
You're right Nathan this thing sounds throaty and has a nice snarl!
It looks so great!
Though nit a big fan of a transverse V6 in a supposed luxury car (not a fan of anything more than 4 cylinders in a transverse configuration).
GREAT car, I have one .. (an AWD) ... Sad to see them go.
Looks like a vw!! For sure. What's with automakers nowadays can't come up with stylish, unique designs.
First time Chrysler has become decent if I had the money I would buy one esspecially since it has 295 hp!
Hey The Fast Lane Car , I heard @ this event that Chrysler had the AWD 200S and AWD 200C as well. Did you drive either of those, and will there be videos if so? I know, I don't want to spoil your vids to come, but it'd be nice to know to look out for those in the coming days!
I really like this car looks so much better id probably even buy now that have a son and need back seats
$34000.00 ? At that price it has no chance in this class. Optima, Camry, Accord and that bunch will blow it away in sales.
9 speed automatic FTW
Whippin bent lays in the snow like its nothin
The front resembles my old 2001 300M. This car is heavier than mine and its faster than mine and not to mention stronger than my 3.5L engine. Keep up the good work Chrysler ^_^
Please put the 8 speed on the Hemi for the new 300 ;)
"you got the accord" the most reliable car in the world.
It's not small in any way. And a nine speed transmission standard. Damn...
76132texas, what about price range of BMW 3 Series?
Phillip Velednitskiy
Finally something luxurious and affordable Dodge/ Chrysler is making good move im actually gonna consider buying this 200 cause if you think about if chrysler keep this up they'll sell more cars in five years than any other brand like ford/ chevy and maybe even toyota, now if they could only do that with there trucks they'll when in that category as well
if they try 0-60mph at closer to sea level, I think it could break 5.5 seconds mark. pretty impressive.
Huge step...alright jump from its predecessor in looks and interior. A7 rear is nicely imitated as is the Fusion profile. Still look back at my Optima when parked. My favorite since it's not so reminiscent of so many others.
