I was shopping for a new car to replace my aging Protege over the summer and wanted something nice and new, I went to my local Dodge dealer to try the Dart, wasn't overly thrilled with it, then I saw this pretty sedan in the corner so I asked the salesman what's that? He says the new Chrysler 200. Wanna try it? I did and bought one a week later. I usually hate Chrysler but the new 2015 is a completely different car from the Chryslers of yesteryear. I got the V6 and the power is amazing, it's like driving a smaller FWD 300 and the mileage hasn't been too bad, I get about 24 MPG in the city and 37 on the highway. It drove better than every car I drove, even my parents like it better than their CR-V and this rich guy I know likes it better than his 100 grand Jaguar XJ! 6 months later it's been great, no problems whatsoever. I think Chrysler's finally making a major power play

Update to my first comment, 6 years later, still happy with this car! Apart from a few minor suspension issues, my 200 has been amazing! I just hit 60000KM, which may not seem like much but I don't travel often lol anyway it still drives like new and hasn't let me down! My only regret is the beige cloth interior, a bitch to keep clean, but it's worth it! I'm also glad I got the V6, drives better, makes a nice rumble and doesn't use much gas!

I recently found a 2015 Chrysler 200C AWD V6 near me for $17K USD with just under 60K miles on it, and I'm seriously considering buying it. A lot of reviews mention electronic and transmission issues. What has been your experience if you don't mind sharing. The one I'm looking at looks pretty amazing, even has the sick 19" wheel option and all the other bells and whistles. But a bad transmission situation would probably be a deal-breaker for me.

I just got a 200c in that specific color, I got the lighter cream interior and I must say I’ve gotten tons of compliments on my vehicle. It’s a beautiful looking ride with amazing attention to detail and a look that you just can’t get with most other cars in this range. My only gripe is the 9speed transmission being a tad sluggish to shift on occasion but other than that it runs quietly and beautifully here in Michigan. I'm definitely a fan of the new 200/300 models.

I just got a 200C a month ago to replace my 2013 Dodge Dart (lease was up). It doesn't have all of the options but it's well equipped, similar to this one but has the standard leather and no chrome ring around the steering wheel. Same 18" polished aluminum wheels as this one but mine is the Vivid Blue exterior with full black leather interior. I really like the car, it's a great traveling car, very comfortable and the V6 has plenty of power, especially for a midsize. I like that they make these in AWD now, no more torque steer like the previous gen had. My favorite part about it is the sport mode, it completely changes the car's personality. In addition to what Kyle pointed out in the video, it also sends 60% of the power to the rear wheels making it rear drive biased (only on AWD models obviously). It's a difference you can definitely feel when compared to having it in Drive, it really pushes from the back and it handles better as a result. Chrysler really upped their game with this car and I thought the Dart was impressive. I know people who drive Infinitis and BMWs who complement me on my 200, they can't believe it's a Chrysler! No joke!

That sweet baritone V6 exhaust note gives the car character, and it evokes an emotion which comparable sedans lack. It almost reminds me of GM's 2.8L and 3.1L exhaust burble, from the late 1980s (think Corsica, Beretta, and FWD Cutlass) Sweet, indeed.

I think this car is a winner, the 9 speed 9HP ZF Transaxle is a bone of contention for me. I own a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude which I love, also based on the CUSW platform as this 200 is. Basically the same drive train, though the V6 in the Jeep is 3.2 vs. 3.6 of the same Pentastar. My transmission has already been replaced after only 28,000! My maintenance, and car of the vehicle are beyond reproach. All under warranty, but still, makes me wonder if ZF and FCA should have spent more time with the transaxle as my confidence in it is only so so. Otherwise the platform is a solid contender. The Alfa Romeo flatform is an awesome one. Just be careful of the transaxle though.

Love the wood accent and speedometer cluster. Chrome accent on the steering wheel is unique. Rotating gear selector is less intuitive than standard lever.
The overall looks of the car is kinda "Korean", but nothing is wrong with the design.

This looks really nice! I wonder if Dodge is going to have it's own version of the car? I'd like to see this design language carried over to a small Chrysler CUV or maybe even something smaller that's similar to the Buick Encore.

I would take a close look at one of these (they genuinely look nice and the V6 AWD option for this price bracket is hard to beat). However, probably because I have too much bad memories of Chrysler/Dodge (our family's first car arriving in Canada was a used Neon), it is hard to believe these things will hold together for long-term ownership.

Chrysler has come a long way from the 90s and early 2000s. My family had a neon new and it was junk. My uncle worked at chrysler for 20 years and we got discounts. We also had a sebring that was junk. But 2011 i needed a truck and i shopped around and dodge had the best truck with the best V8 imo. The thing was rock solid. Never broke down once. Never gave me one single issue. I pulled a 15000 lb trailer with it and its only rated at 11000. Did it no problem. Just traded it in for a 200s awd. I now trust chrysler immensely since they combined with Benz and a lot of engineering went into chrysler. Now with fiat they are engineered quite well. Its basically an alfa romeo chassis with an mercedes engineered engine (very similar to mercedes V6s) and german engineered transmission (ZF makes transmissions for some of the best cars in the world) i have no doubt that this car will hold up to the test of time. Chrysler isnt chrysler from 10 years ago

+Trades46 For the price it is definitely hard to beat. Chrysler has come A LONG WAY since those days. It's night and day from even the late 00s. But they're still not COMPLETELY there yet. I work for a dealership that houses all the major Fiat Chrysler (FCA) brands and I can say there's still some issues. Avoid anything with a Fiat engine like the plague (4 cyl 200, Dart, Jeep Renegade, etc.) The Italians have done A LOT on the design side of things, but as always with Italians, they're not the best at the building and quality side. If you get a 200 with the 3.6 you should be just fine. It's a Chrysler engine so it will be easy to work on and relatively cheap to repair. The transmissions still have a lot of glitches and we've replaced a lot, but it's a new design that's expected. Just make sure you get rid of it before the warrant is up..

+Chris Huber I got nearly 200,000 thousand miles on my 2000 Neon with just routine maintenance; mines a 5 speed. Which seems to make a huge difference in overall reliability.

Well I'm not saying that your Neon might have been kinda junky, but I own 2nd generation form 2000 with 2.0 liter and automatic. Apart form doing what have to be done oil change, brakes etc. it holds pretty well. Doesn't seem to eaten by rust, nothing is loose, the acceleration is good for city driving and it's interior also got all i need- cruise control, AC, electric and heated mirrors, comfy all leather seats. It's one of the last of those very stream and slick cars like LHS or concorde, driving quality and suspension is one of a kind. Plus easter eggs like light under the hood-never seen anything like this, nice touch for self repairing. For me- I couldn't spend 2000$ better. Also it only had 120k km .But sometimes you just got lucky with some cars.( sorry for my english it's still not perfected)
