    Loose me NOT. Am so thankful that someone goes through the entire process and explains what each item is for. Too many times people whip through the process. Keep it up! I am not mechanically inclined and appreciate your attention to detail!

    Do you have a video on how to replace the pump? Mine isn’t getting any pressure. Great channel.

      That’s what I’m going through. I’m pumping and getting zero pressure. Couldn’t have failed at a worse time. Thank goodness we have flashlights but it’s def not the same as hanging a lantern for cooking/cleaning/etc

    I'm trying to service a Coleman 295. Getting pressure but as soon as I put the centre rod in then it doesn't pump air into the tank. Without the centre rod pressure is Great. Any advice 🙏
    And if the problem is at the base of the pump the how do I fix that? Tried to unscrew the very bottom where the shaft of the pump rests but it's very tight and don't want to damage the copper!

    Go to WalMart and get Carb Cleaner and Electrical Contact Cleaner. CLEAN all the valves and joints with carb cleaner then use contact cleaner to rinse the parts. Empty all old gas, clean and rinse all parts then put it back together, add a small amount of NEW, NO-ALCOHOL gas and run the tank dry.

    My lantern is nearly impossible to pump… any suggestions?

    • @RavenwoodAcres
      @RavenwoodAcres  5 місяців тому

      I would first inspect the pump tube for any debris. Next it could be a partially clogged check valve at the bottom of the pump tube.

    Wow I'm glad I found your videos lots of help thanks same problem I have ! You said that you did replace the schrader valve with a tire one ?

    • @RavenwoodAcres
      @RavenwoodAcres  7 років тому

      Yes and I had no problems since.

    • @RavenwoodAcres
      @RavenwoodAcres  6 років тому

      Quite honestly I don't recall if replaced it or not. I messed up the video while editing because it was using new editing software. However, it is the same sytle of schrader valve as used on tires. The only caution I would have for standard tire schrader valve is the seal material may not hold up well to Coleman fuel. The ones I have are used in hydraulic systems therefore, they maybe hold up to the fuel.

    A question please?
    Why is the pressure plunger on my Coleman's stick/stiff/grating when pumping air in?

    • @RavenwoodAcres
      @RavenwoodAcres  2 роки тому

      My first thought is the check valve. The check valve is design to allow air to go into the tank but not escape. The second area could be a combination of issues the pump tube and the check valve. I recommend disassembling the pump assembly and check for inspection and cleaning.

    My dual-fuel Coleman has chunks of white pinkish paint or melted plastic looking crap in the tank. I asked Coleman what it was and they said they didn’t know and to wash it out with denatured alcohol. I’ve tried that along with acetone, and every other solvent I can find. Even used BBs in the tank. Have you ever heard of this? Too bad Coleman won’t stand behind the product and send me a new tank.

    • @RavenwoodAcres
      @RavenwoodAcres  6 років тому

      That's a new one for me. The only plastic in the tank is the fuel inlet piece. mine is off white in color. That still doesn't explain how you plastic chunks in your tank. How old is the lantern, how many times have used it, and what type fuel did you primary use?

  • @hokiedokie
    @hokiedokie 4 місяці тому +1

    Whats the plastic thing in the fuel tank called?

    • @RavenwoodAcres
      @RavenwoodAcres  4 місяці тому

      Coleman calls it a feed tube. I call it the fuel feed tube. The material on the side acts as filter to prevent large particle from causing problems.

      Mine wont pick up fuel.. only lights and pisses fuel when held upside down under pressure and valve fuel knob open . Generator is clean

    Thank you fore the video. I still have problem with the ignition. It seems lige its only air comming out at the mantle. But when i give the lantern a Shake its alle to ignite and Burns fore a little while,Them the light fliklers and i have to give it a little Shake again. What Can be wrong

    • @RavenwoodAcres
      @RavenwoodAcres  6 років тому +1

      Mine is a little tricky to light also. Are you turning the control knob all the way up high? I have ask because mine will hiss air but not light if I only turn the partially on. Once I turn it all the way up the sound changes and then it will light. If this is not you problem, you probably have a small leak or a bad gas generator. Note: small leaks may not all ways be obvious.

    Hi what tape do you use around the main body to keep it all nice and tight, i didn't catch it

    • @RavenwoodAcres
      @RavenwoodAcres  3 роки тому

      I prefer not use Teflon tape on my lanterns. Instead I use Rectorseal No. 5 thread sealant.

    hey boss, I hope you see this. I have a lantern with a similar cam style valve for the fuel control. how do you put it in? I took it off to clean it, and I cant seem to get it in in the right orientation to let it control that little pin

      Sorry I am just getting back to you. I have been traveling and I have not much to check on my channel. Are you still have this issue? If so message and I create a video to show how correct your lantern.

    hello, I bought coleman 533 10 days ago, I use unleaded gasoline, I burn the stove by following all instructions, but there is a dark leak under the burner during burning, sometimes it turns into a ball of fire.
    The leak continues even though I clean the generator, please help

    • @RavenwoodAcres
      @RavenwoodAcres  2 роки тому +1

      Wow, sorry for the super late response. With what information you have gave me I can only assume what is wrong. My first guest it there is a leak where the fuel line connect to the burner. Or the burner assembly has a hole in it, this can happen due to corrosion (rusting). Please follow-up if you have more information or you where able to fix it.
