I honestly have been very reluctant to try leca, but this self-watering pot seems awesome. I'm very tempted to try it now if I find one like it. Also, what's the problem with these people complaining about different videos or cursing? A) This is not a kids channel and B) if you don't like it just go watch another channel. Fucking people.
Honestly I first followed you because plants but stuck around because I love your personality! Happy to see what other kinds of content you put out going forward :)
You read my mind. I just thought about getting a couple self watering pots yesterday, and was wondering how they work. I still love your videos. I'd love a leca video.
Helen O. F. I put my calatheas in self watering pots when I went on vacation and found they did alot better than before due to the consistent moisture I guess? It’s in a 40% soil to 60% perlite mix. I am curious about how to use leca though.
Kaylee, honestly, all of your video ideas sound wonderful. Skin... Lecca... Nails...travel... Whatever. There comes a point when you just like somebody's videos enough that you watch them no matter the subject matter. 😂 I love that one woman in Australia's videos. She's a personal trainer type so they're mostly about working out but she also loves plants. And also loves food. So the channels very lifestyle. You be you girl! Excited to hear about USA shipments. ♥️
We love you Kaylee ❤️❤️❤️ It’s been so lovely to see your personality come out more in the new videos like vlogs and stuff, will always watch your videos simply because it’s YOU, plants or not ☺️
Hey Kaylee! The Lechuza Pot has its own type of anorganic substrate. The ,gravel‘ as you call it is actually called ,Pon‘ and you can buy bigger bags of it and put your plants into it completely
Sylwia Duszczak it made for selfwatering pots but you can use it with normal pots too. In my opinion it loses its benefits with normal pots and it is cheaper to stick with soil
Hey Kaylee I love that you are branching out with your content!! I am an esthetician and I just wanted to add one little thing to your skin care if you could. Please please wear sunscreen with your 1% Retinol if you aren't already. Also apply ONLY at night. Retinol makes your skin photosensitive and can actually make everything you're trying to treat so much worse like acne, sun damage, fine lines, you name it. You also need a minimum of 30 SPF to effectively protect your skin. I don't want this to come off as me being bossy I just genuinely want the best for your skins health.
Thank you 😁 I do that already yeah. Unless I'm in the house of course 🥰 use Drunk Elephants 30spf sunscreen with it. And I've ceased using any retinol for a couple of weeks now in preparation for Thailand. Thank you for the advice though!
hello! Kaylee thank you for everything that you do for us.i really appriciate the effort that you put into doing things for us. plaese do things that you want to do.which makes you happy.because there will always be people who would criticise you and talk behind your back for whatever you do or dont do.it wont make any difference whatsoever.but still, there would always be some people who would be loyal to you.you understand?what i'm trying to say... take care be safe .
I think you should always be yourself Kaylee, that's why I watch your channel. You make the videos you are comfortable with. I love your channel, do you boo. I am considering trying LECA but I don't think I am ready to try it on the pricey plants in my collection. I will admit it, I am just not that brave.
I grow orchids in lecca.I use pebbles on top of the lecca. I found that the lecca can dry out newly forming roots so the pebbles help with the root desiccating. Also they are easier to pick off when repotting. Fish gravel works to but harder to pick off when repotting. Make sure you rinse and rinse and rinse and then soak the lecca to help with salt/minerals that might be in the lecca. Love the pots.
I still curious about the fertilization.... I’m so afraid of this method, so many questions! 😅 I can’t understand how having a plant just in water it’s different! Im really impressed with your determination in doing what you like! ❤️
Woot! I'd love to see the Leca tutorial. I've been thinking of moving some of my plants over to it out of soil. Do you also need to use some fertilizer with it too? Also yay, thank you for having patience and working out the shipping to Canada :) It's a little annoying, but mostly trouble for the shopper, it will be so nice having access to your shop. Also meeeeeh... people need to not have their panties in a bunch over content shifts, it happens on tons of channels. You do you girl, I've enjoyed the content and I come here because I'm interested in what you're up to not just your fancy plants :)
Oh I am super excited to see how this works out! This could be a game changer, especially for fussy plants! I got a zebra plant last summer, that was more tree like and less bushy, and the whole this would just flop over very dramatically when it needed to be watered. Which was honestly every 3-4 days, I could not keep up! I am sure it was not good for its stem folding over constantly like that. I decided to try switching it into an african violet self watering ceramic pot and it was an absolute game changer! It could not be happier, it flowered at the end of summer and it is now one of my easiest plants to care for!
I subscribed although I hesitated since you're thinking of supporting J*. You'd think that being gay he'd be more understanding of minority struggles but crocodile tears aside, bigots never ever think they're revolting bigots. And that's all I'll say about that. You always do your due diligence before forming an opinion or taking a stance. I like that, too. I like how you are knowledgeable and no-nonsense about plants. You put out timely videos, no padding and no click bait. You're also pretty funny.
gorgeous to me. I just bought a billietia, and I was contemplating what substrate I wanted to put it in. it's small with about 5 leaves on it. you're giving me something to think about( moss pole. great idea. if i start it on a pole now, mine will look as good as well.)😊
Dont understand at all why that would be the case at all, dont worry numbers will get there just do your thing. Out of all the “plant parent” educational channels I always try to first see if you have a video on the topic. Always good qual, lots of info, tips, and very easy to watch. Honestly some are so boring and impossible but your personality hits too 👌🏻
I have most of my plants converted to leca now. It is quite a bit of work to convert but then it's so low maintenance when you have a lot of plants - only need to water every 3 weeks. Just a bit of a learning curve with the nutrient water and ph levels.
Love that you have your prayer plant in a self watering pot too. I have 3 out of 5 calatheas in self watering pots and two peace lilies. They are all doing really great. I am interested in lecca so can't wait to see how you like in an update down the road. I love your content new and old. I am glad you are doing you
The import permit for Canada cost 35 dollars but takes a month/month and a half to get and lasts for 3 years. On the application you have to specify the species as well, so it’s difficult if you don’t know what you’re going to order.
first of all, i am SO happy to be done with school so i can binge your videos again😍 second of all, when you started talking about your skin my brain kept going "i wonder if its drunk elephant" AND BINGO!! that stuff is liquid gold! would love a video on your favs! love your channel so so much and everything you put on here
I think your awesome, just keep on your going great. I'm in the USA and you help me with my plants and my sanity, thru all that's happening. I'm very glad your here.
Your billitile hybrid looks great on that pot. I suggest you watch some semihydro videos from other youtubers regarding semi hydroponic set up, pH, feeding in semi hydroponic. Looking forward to see your updates on this beauty. Thanks for sharing.
I look forward to your videos every Friday!! I can’t wait to see the fish tank video! I would love to see updates on your biorb, obliqua, and your other unicorns like the variegated adansonii and the pss 😊
I always love watching your videos. You are doing an amazing job. I watch and rewatch your videos as I increase my collection. Thank you and keep sharing your expertise.
I love the content of your videos- we have very similar tastes in foliage so I could watch you taking about them all day. Haters gonna hate, you aren’t a robot, do what makes you happy.
I just found you, and I think you're fucking awesome!! Don't give a second thought to the haters, I'm pretty sure we're ALL just jealous of your beauty, AND beautiful plant collection. Some people look up to you for inspiration, and some are just assholes and want to bring you down. Keep doing you! 💚
I love your channel and your honesty! I would also love more on Leca. I am very new to indoor plants and it seems like a great system for my busy life/house but I'm very confused on how it works. Everything online talks about watering the plant below the root system...if it's in a non-clear pot how do I know where the roots stop? Also some people talk about an inner vs. outer pot. I'm all around confused on the day to day water and care for a Leca potted plant. I'd love a dedicated video. Again love your channel, honesty, excitement, and willingness to help us newbies :)
I thought I had everything I could ever needs for my plants, now I need lechuza planters! 😂 I’m planning on trying out the LECA life myself this weekend. Starting with my Hoyas. 💚💚💚
I saw some leca today when I was grabbing some fertilizer, but was running late and didn't get a chance to talk to them about it. I'd love for you to do a video about it, and whatever else you want to share with us! I use the plant velcro for so so much, including an unruly downspout! It's just really great stuff.
Defender is ISFJ and that's mine too haha loooove your videos and always will! I think the variety in the vids you upload are interesting and honestly there's so much you can talk about plants and you can definitely talk about something else and not labeled into just this person who only talks about plants.
Oh man I may have to do this for my Philodendron Mayoi- he’s gotten very droopy and floppy this winter and I think a moss pole (and maybe some self watering) is JUST what the Plant Doctor ordered!
Hey :D yes in Canada you have to have an import permit, but that is on the importer. People try to get by without it but you risk having your plant seized, even if it has a phyto. The importer needs a separate permit for each country they are importing from.
If you do a follow-up/how to on leca, please discuss the benefits of leca over soil. So far, it seems no one mentions WHY you would choose leca. They are just doing it because other planttubers are. I would like to know why it would be preferred. Safety from fungus gnats isn't enough of a reason ! ;)
Hi, Put my two Billietiae into leca some months ago, both going really well, never looked back. Mine are also on poles like yours and I tied them to the poles with no ill effects. I do however use Growth Technology Clonex Clone Solution 5ml to 1 litre of water. I use this on all my potted plants in leca and have excellent results. They get all their nutrients and I also give them a spray with this soloution once a week. Trying my spiritus sancti in chunky mix but giving them some Clonex to get them used to it, if all ok they will also go into leca. Great videos, g'day from Aus.
I agree about the Marula oil. I think they maintain that the pricing is due to their sourcing in ingredients. Your skin won't know the difference, but my pocketbook did. I was spending way too much on skincare at one point; ridiculous amounts. I've been using Differin for about a year. It's affordable and works better than Drunk Elephant or Sunday Riley ever did. My skin's never been better and I have more money to spend on my plants. *The leca will help you avoid pests and in particular, fungus gnats. You have to supply nutrients through water via fertilizer more often because there's no soil. Some plants can have a hard time adjusting. I think it's smart she did it in a self-watering pot. I can't do Leca; personally I didn't like the results.
Please do a video on your skin care routine , I would love to know what products you use ! I have perioral dermatitis and struggling to get my skin looking good again ! 💚💚💚
I really enjoy that u try leca. I converted most of my plants last year,...I really love that i don`t have to care about over or underwatering^^ I just have the same Maranta in the same pot, its just a little bit bigger. I love to grow plants in Leca. U can look at the roots very easily. And after first repotting from soil into Leca, u never have this soil around. But I am not so sure whats the perfekt way to put nutriens in it.
I love all of your videos Kaylee!!💕 I hope your trial run for shipping to Canada went well. I know your US launch is delayed because of everything going on right now but I would love if you could ship to Canada too once this is all over! I have applied for a permit in Canada and gotten plants shipped in from overseas and its actually a pretty easy process, just an annoying extra step really. Take care and keep up with the great work!!🥰
That Leca stuff is getting popular, but it has no nutrients of its' own, correct? So you have to water with dilute fertilizer pretty regularly because you're basically growing the plant hydroponically, I would think. Can't wait to see how it goes. I have a roll of that velcro stuff, also green. I think it came from Lee Valley many moons ago. I'll bet you wish that the roll you have came in brown to match your moss pole! Would love to see that plant as soon as the leaves re-orient themselves.
I don't know, if you know this already, but the "Classic LS"-collection is more suitable for using Leca/Pon, than the "Classico" pots because you can take out the inner pot and have a look at the roots etc- but it is also more pricy. But that is just my opinion :)
Hi Kailee, I’ve been watching your videos and was wondering if you can give care tips(watering) in a monstera adansonii? I just received one and I’m trying to keep it happy.
How is he doing now?! I just bought my first P. billietiae and I am so excited. She’s still a small baby but wanted to know your recommendations on how to start her off? Keep her in an aroid soil mix for now? About when should I give her a pole? Much love 💕
I did not get notified about your video so I went to check what I had marked and I was not subscribed at all. I know that I subscribed to you, something is not right. Any way I'm subbed again. Love watching all of your videos . Gorgeous plant 😍
You can mix your retinol with something to dilute it until your skin adjusts to it. I've seen reddit threads recommend mixing retinol with the Cosrx snail serum. I use the retinol by the Ordinary, which is lighter and very affordable if you want to try it. Also, even with the phyto + permit, they can still deny and confiscate the plant. I've seen people complain on my local FB groups that they're out hundreds of dollars from that happening 😢
I am sooo happy I found your channel! I love the content, the plants and your personality (yes, swearing included :') ) Been learning so much from you, and since the UK and The Netherlands has similar climate/weather I found your plantcare videos damn handy, in comparison to the US or or other tropical channels.
can you please do a leca video! im trying to convert my plants but i cant find a ton of information out there. love your videos and super informative so id love to see how you do it! thanks :)
First of all, I love your content and fully support you pursuing videos and things you like doing. Second, todays society is overly sensitive, grow up and just enjoy the content and recognize the effort put into it! Anyway, I so want a billietae! I live in Costa Rica so availability is not great, not a lot of 'rare' plants around, or not a great variety actually, hopefully one day ;) Also, speaking of wishlists, I NEED the fish tank video, it's turning into a necessity for me! I mean, plants, fish, Kaylee........... Life gonna be good :D
Hi! I would love to see a leca video I just converted some plants and I think I made mistakes because I loose a lot of roots 😭 some of them I stick in water again Could you maybe do an update of your billietiae in leca?🥰🌿🌿🌱
For Canada: we need the import permit and phyto. We also can't get the import permit after the plant has been shipped. It must be obtained beforehand. It's really easy to get, but it can take a couple weeks to process. When I've ordered from overseas they always ask for a copy of the permit and put it with the phyto so customs can quickly check it in the system if they choose to do so.
Yep and we would need to see proof of an import permit before we can submit a plant for Phyto for a customer - which means they must have the permit before ordering and they must declare what species of plant they plan on importing (if my information is correct. I told this permit is around $35
As if I could love your content any more than I do, but pleeeease do a video on your perioral dermatitis journey. Battling it myself for so long. Love youuu❤️
Can't wait for that Canada test because I've been looking into the import permit and how to get one and it is truly so confusing, but I desperately want to get more rare plants into the country.
You may want to look into Em Cosmetics, by Michelle Phan. I am currently obsessed with her products and in using them, my skin has never looked and felt better! Love her dreamy eyeshadow colors and baked blush, but the Serum Blushes are the clear winner, never seen a product like that on the market and my skin is glowy!
Hi I already use Lechuza pots for more than 6 month with the PON that is basically pumice with fertilizer ( sold on Amazon from Lechuza) on all my Aroids, Calathea and Aglaonema and Hoya It works perfectly for all of them Holds plants better than Lecca straight up
Back again from Aus. Re leca, I bought a Calathea Orbifolia and potted it up but it went downhill thereafter, got to 3 pitiful leaves so made decision to put into leca and nutrient. I cannot tell you how it looks now. It's nothing for it to produce 3 leaves a week, also I moved it which probably helped. Now own 4 orbifolias, just put three of them into leca two weeks ago and they are going so well but not sure now what I'm going to do with them it they all keep getting big.
What fertilizer mix do you intend to use? Do you anticipate having to periodically rinse the leca to get rid of old fertilizer residue and salt build-ups? I've been putting my rarer aroids of late in leca and I'm starting to wonder if I can make flush day less onerous and wasteful of water. I've been using Bio Bizz fertilizer.
KAYLEE!!! We Karens love youl!! We've already taken care of that bad apple ;) she won't be bothering you anymore. Don't change a thing girl, keep doing you!
It’s been a year since you tried LECA. Did you notice if some plants thrive more in LECA? Are there plants that you prefer to plant in LECA than aroid potting mix?
I think yours is a hybrid cross Philodendron billietiae and Philodendron atabapoense, because mine and all of my friend's Billietiae has orange padiole and grow like Thaumatophyllum... Btw, big fans from Indonesia 😊
I honestly have been very reluctant to try leca, but this self-watering pot seems awesome. I'm very tempted to try it now if I find one like it.

Broke folks: try The Ordinary skincare. It has been miracle-like for me!
I always get overwhelmed by skincare. Just googled this brand but there are so many products and I have no clue what my skin needs.
If you search on UA-cam for Skincare with Hyram you will not be disappointed 😁 very informational!
They are an amazing brand
I subscribed and yt unsubbed me. 😫
Personally speaking, I’m much happier watching you be happy. Same goes for any UA-camr I enjoy. Throw out the rule book.
I came for the plants, and stayed for your lovely personality. You're amazing, plant related or otherwise, doesn't matter to me.
You read my mind. I just thought about getting a couple self watering pots yesterday, and was wondering how they work. I still love your videos. I'd love a leca video.

I have all my synognium, philodendron and Monsters in pon. They love it! And it looks way nicer than lica.
Love Pon, it's amazing
May i ask what pon is? Maybe its called something else where i live. Thank you
@@Bussi1973 do you think I could use pon in normal pot or does it have to be self watering one?
Sylwia Duszczak it made for selfwatering pots but you can use it with normal pots too. In my opinion it loses its benefits with normal pots and it is cheaper to stick with soil

Your Billitae looks great on the pole. I look forward to updates and will be looking for a self watering pot as well. Stay blessed my friend🤗👍❤.

It's not an instruction video on how to brew coffee, but it'll do eh Paula? 😂😂😂
Hi Kaylee, I like your personality and your video's so I will not stop watching.
I love both your plant and non plant content! Keep on doing what makes you happy, it is your effing channel after all 🤣

Love ya Kaylee
Can’t wait for the video on shipping to Canada! 🇨🇦 And I would also love to see a video on leca :) 💚
Take care and keep up with the great work!!🥰
That sure looks easy and the plant looks healthy. Great video ☺😊
would looove a skincare video omg
That Leca stuff is getting popular, but it has no nutrients of its' own, correct? So you have to water with dilute fertilizer pretty regularly because you're basically growing the plant hydroponically, I would think. Can't wait to see how it goes.
I have a roll of that velcro stuff, also green. I think it came from Lee Valley many moons ago. I'll bet you wish that the roll you have came in brown to match your moss pole! Would love to see that plant as soon as the leaves re-orient themselves.
I need a video on how you deal with your plants when you're on vacation :o
I don't know, if you know this already, but the "Classic LS"-collection is more suitable for using Leca/Pon, than the "Classico" pots because you can take out the inner pot and have a look at the roots etc- but it is also more pricy. But that is just my opinion :)
Hi Kailee, I’ve been watching your videos and was wondering if you can give care tips(watering) in a monstera adansonii? I just received one and I’m trying to keep it happy.
Trying self watering and leca for the first time at the same time. Ambitious!
the update at the end was cool! thank you :)
I hope the shipping to Canada works out and isn't too crazy so I can finally purchase something!! 😁
Great video , thank you . Carry on doing what you doing , be happy and by the way , Billie looks good.
Thank you, I enjoy your videos a lot. What are you using for nutrients in your LECA systems?
You can mix your retinol with something to dilute it until your skin adjusts to it. I've seen reddit threads recommend mixing retinol with the Cosrx snail serum. I use the retinol by the Ordinary, which is lighter and very affordable if you want to try it.
Also, even with the phyto + permit, they can still deny and confiscate the plant. I've seen people complain on my local FB groups that they're out hundreds of dollars from that happening 😢
I’m going to have to grab a few of those pots!
Do what you love. We can't please everyone:) I enjoy your video.
I am sooo happy I found your channel! I love the content, the plants and your personality (yes, swearing included :') )
Been learning so much from you, and since the UK and The Netherlands has similar climate/weather I found your plantcare videos damn handy, in comparison to the US or or other tropical channels.
can you please do a leca video! im trying to convert my plants but i cant find a ton of information out there. love your videos and super informative so id love to see how you do it!
An absolute unit! I really loved this video. Thank you!
Hi! I would love to see a leca video
I just converted some plants and I think I made mistakes because I loose a lot of roots 😭 some of them I stick in water again
Could you maybe do an update of your billietiae in leca?🥰🌿🌿🌱
Loved this video! It looks great in that pot💚
Do you use Leca for most of everything ? I am repotting my first plant with leca this week.
Can't wait for that Canada test because I've been looking into the import permit and how to get one and it is truly so confusing, but I desperately want to get more rare plants into the country.
Don’t worry about the haters! We love your content! 💗🌿
I would be interested in hearing more about your skincare. I actually have perioral dermatitis right now and its been very frustrating :(
Same!! Please make a video
I love the plant velcro. It works great. I actually have it holding the arms of my three-armed grow lights. haha
This is my unicorn plant. I love the long leaves in it so much. Just waiting for $$ or a small miracle. Lol.
Yup - import permit plus certificate for Canada. You apply for permit online and I think it lasts 1 or 2 years 😊
Love your content! Keep up doing you!
We believe in you Kaylee! DO WHAT YOU NEED TO GOD BLESS and God speed!💚
Hi
I already use Lechuza pots for more than 6 month with the PON that is basically pumice with fertilizer ( sold on Amazon from Lechuza) on all my Aroids, Calathea and Aglaonema and Hoya
It works perfectly for all of them
Holds plants better than Lecca straight up
Back again from Aus.
Please make a video on covertion from soil to leca!
Is there always root shedding with leca? Or will the roots you have now stay without falling off
I think it looks beautiful now 🌿🥰
KAYLEE!!! We Karens love youl!! We've already taken care of that bad apple ;) she won't be bothering you anymore. Don't change a thing girl, keep doing you!
Do you have a video where you explain how to convert from soil to leca or pon?
You already knew I was gonna say something about the aquarium. 😂 Also saw you're IG story, can't wait for USA shipping!
I would love to see a video comparing the plant growing in Leca vs your aroid soil mix please! How's your Billietiae doing so far?
THAT GOES FOR YOU TOO KAREN! 🤣🤣🤣
I didn't understand th joke. But I still thought it was funny 🤣🤣🤣
I low key died when I saw my name in a friggin Kaylee Ellen video! Please Note: I am not THE Karen, she will be dealt with... ;)
kayrin33 🤣🤣🤣
It’s been a year since you tried LECA. Did you notice if some plants thrive more in LECA? Are there plants that you prefer to plant in LECA than aroid potting mix?
Hmm.. you may have just convinced me to put my Billy on a pole. 🤔 He's an unruly sort. Lol
Great video as always beech! 😘 Love your face!
I think yours is a hybrid cross Philodendron billietiae and Philodendron atabapoense, because mine and all of my friend's Billietiae has orange padiole and grow like Thaumatophyllum...
Btw, big fans from Indonesia 😊
