Some people kind of doubted Serena after being defeated at the Hopman Cup. One of her best runs at the Australian Open. She defeated many players who were playing their best against her. Like how she hit two aces on match point, almost identical placement. That is unheard of on the womens side, proves how legendary she is.
This season stressed me the hell out.

One thing I have learned from following Serena Williams career is that she knows what it takes to be a great champion. You don't always win. Sometimes you lose and withdraw. By this point in her career, she had won EIGHTEEN grand slams. When you lose as one of the greatest of all time, you get back up and try again. In addition and what I think is very important, is that even when Serena loses, she is indirectly giving other women on the tour hope they can beat her and win their own titles too. Now take for instance Petra Kvitova. It was Kvitova's first win against Serena and by this point Kvitova herself a 2-time Grand slam champion herself. Kvitova doing this time was learning how to be match tough just like Serena had to do back in 2007-2010. In Serena's losses we learned alot of the match toughness of other players and how grueling a professional tennis tour is.
That loss against Vinci had me depressed for the rest of that month... Damn

@@thisp666 As a teenager Steffi made 4 slam finals, winning one.
She then stopped playing doubles because it was too irrelevant for her. Instead she won 21 singles slams until age 27. And would have continued to win slams for about 10 more years if it weren’t for her reconstructive knee surgery in 1997.
@@carrerau7138 ok singles was more important to her, so she have more energy for singles in grand slam, but martina and serena did while winning singles grand slam too and a lot of them at the same time... True about graff injury but hey serena has a horrible one too in 2003, that is why she Lost her number 1 position and could not defend her title at US open 2003, after that serena never Will recover her speed and still get to 23

You don‘t seriously want to compare Steffi‘s infamous list of injuries (look them up at Wikipedia!) with the mostly injury-free career Serena had? Steffi‘s tons of injuries was mentioned in every other article about her premature retirement a few weeks after her 30th birthday!

@@thisp666 But Steffi didn‘t choke in the 1st round in Wimbledon 94. She lost to the #17-ranked player who also was one of the best S&V players of her time.
BTW, after turning 16 years old Steffi never lost to a player ranked outside of the top 25 in a slam.
Serena had about 10 such losses.
Steffi was more dominant than Serena and that against better competition.

I was always debating whether 2013 was better than 2015 as a whole year but a lot of history was on the line had she won that us open title in 2015.

I forgot how much tennis serna played leading up to the us open..wow she was tired injured and she started thinking about the finals and put to much on pressure on herself and the crowd i watch.that usopen match(of course)..and serna could have used the us crowd to lift her and it was like 50% for serna and 51% for vinci boy if serna was white,,blonde,,blue,,that us crowd would have....she would have won...it was weird...but three grandslam titles one year and four straight...not to bad.
