Especially because of the fact that Terraria was released 6 months before Minecraft. If we were to apply the same logic, that means Minecraft would be, more accurately, 3D Terraria
I think one of the big positive of Terraria is its dev team. The dev team is transparent, listens to and interacts with the community. They host events, add some features proposed by people and are not scared to answer to some feedback. They are completely open to modding, which has led to the creation of Tmod loader. It counts as a separate game on steam, but it's a library for Terraria mods. It makes playing modded easy and accessible. And the Terraria dev team acknowledges the Tmod team, which is why Tmod news are featured with the monthly state of the game.
On top of that there's basically no drama in the fanbase either. the most controversial thing that's happen in all of 10+ years is that a bunch of people got mad about Torch Luck as a mechanic, so the devs fixed it and then added Torch God as a way to prank the protesters. And everyone involved loved it. that's the most controversy that's happened (perhaps the Calamity hate club could be down here as well, but it really goes to show how positive this community is because of Re-logic
It's true both games are good games they even put in little things for each other like the random text when you start the game. Terraria has "Also try Minecraft!" And a creeper costume while Minecraft has "Also try Terraria!". The devs acknowledged and respect each other why can't we.
One of the things i hate about newbies is that most of them is willing to learn about minecraft and everything about it but when it comes to terraria they just figure out that it HAS to be exactly like minecraft and when it isnt they just give up
Well terraria is a lot more complicated then Minecraft and most people were introduced to Minecraft first so it’s likely learning a new language or something
I learned Terraria at 5 years old lol. I now have 3000+ hours and I love both games. Both games were easy to learn for me. I only got Minecraft around 2020, though. With that being said, Minecraft has more opportunities with creating and importing new themes-- this is why Minecraft mods are so successful, and why there are more Minecraft online multiplayer servers than in Terraria. But like the video says, Terraria has progression that makes it feel like more of a linear videogame rather than a pure sandbox. Neither of the games are bad. I love playing Terraria with friends & siblings, we made up something called "Task Runner" which is similar to lockouts or bingo except the tasks are different Terraria challenges and we throw a little speedrunner vs hunter into it. It's really fun. I'm also working on a Legend of Zelda map in Terraria. In Minecraft, I'm hosting an immersive factions server for my family & cousins. We have 8 people online and it's really fun too. I love building in both games and they both satisfy me in that way. Just my thoughts
@@xgamewinner Not initially. Imagine back before you had a journal or tutorial in Minecraft. How did you make a tool? How do you craft? How do you do anything? You don't know. But in Terraria you start with tools, you can craft immediately and you don't need to memorize crafting recipe patterns. Just get the materials. How is that more complicated? Just do what you always do. Mine and craft. And you'll find things by them selves.
Terraria's progression is incredibly good. I love how you're slowly building up your strength until enemies you previously struggled with become trivial encounters. And then hardmode hits, and you're sent right back to square one, but with so many options to go forward from there. It's really something special
@@DrCrazyEvil that's not minecraft that's MODDED minecraft. if you want to get into semantics, Terriaria mods allow you to fight ACTUAL GOD. like, THE god. and whether you kill it or die, your game crashes all the same.
Terraria and Ultrakill players watching their 5786th video essay about why their game is peak: (I am a fan of both, and BEAT both (technically Ultrakill isnt finished))
Thanks for playing Terraria ^^ When I first started the game on the XBox 360, there actually was a tutorial mode that told you "okay cut down a tree" then "okay here's how to build a house" then "here's some ores you can make stuff with". I honestly wish they'd bring that back, it'd cut down on the rabid backseaters invading streams like "omg he doesn't know about THIS I must tell him immediately". And as someone who will vibrate excitedly about the game, I hope the Terraria community treated you well. You actually can learn most of the stuff to do from the Guide, either from a tip eventually coming up or from asking him what you can craft with something. Or the bestiary showing which enemies drop items or where NPCs like to live.
I’m a Minecraft person and it will always be my favourite game. Around a year ago I bought terraria and got confused. Recently I’ve started again and I have been playing for hours, I got a npc apartment, max hp, found my shimmer, and more.
An actual question. What makes you like minecraft so much? For me this game is boring. Combat is slow and one dimentional. Exploration is nonexistant: like 5 small rare structures, every biome adds one new type of wood, if lucky one new mob and like two new blocks also
@@SquidBowHonestly same, although building is fun and relaxing, but i enjoy doing it only in creative, bcs grinding in Minecraft takes so long and is so boring compared to terraria
@ thx for asking! And agree that it can get boring, right now I haven’t played in weeks (terraria grind) overall tho a big thing is the community stuff and friends, I will almost never play survival or even creative alone and the only time I play alone is with mods. As for with people either it’s just messing around with friends or starting a survival together, but a majority of my Minecraft hours have been playing eggwars on a server
@@SquidBow while both games are good at both things, I've always found that Terraria is more of an action game, while mc focuses on building more than progression.
I always find it funny that everyone is overwhelmed in the beginning of Terraria and give up. Honestly, it's not like Minecraft is any better at explaining what your objectives are.
I think it's more to difficulty at the start too. The first time you enter the game the slimes can straight up hinder your progression and you cannot just dodge because you only can go right and left.
@@Algorithm_God_Cult didn't used to. Terraria had the Guide since release in 2011, way before Minecraft had the recipe book, which was only added in 2017, 8 YEARS after release. I agree that with modded Terraria a recipe browser is more necessary, but Vanilla is fine. Most crafting trees are easy enough to find with just the guide, as there's literally the word "Material" on anything you can craft with, and (for the most part) stuff isn't given to you before you can craft with it.
I’ve never quite had the experience in other games of the same genre as I have had in Terraria. Going from “this isn’t hard, I don’t get what all the fuss is about” to “I’ve got to research how to beat this f=kin boss” it only took 2 months for me to beat the game. Yet I still come back constantly. Terraria is a true gem. The only surprise to me now is why more people haven’t played it.
22:18 most of it is though, when you talk to the guide he will give you tips all throughout the progression, and while talking to him you can click on the "crafting" button and it will give you an empty slot and if you put something there it will show you EVERY item in the game that can be crafted with that materiel. but most people don't realize that because they talk to him once and he says "don't go outside at night" and they go "thanks captain obvious" and never talk to him again. Even the drops and drop rate thing, there's a bestiary in the game that will tell you about every creature in the game, where they spawn, what they drop, how rare their drops are, their stats, and how rare they are in general, yea you have to find at least one of them to unlock this information, but this entire game is about exploration and finding new things, so odds are your gonna see them on your own eventually.
i never knew about the crafting recipes aspect of the guide myself until i got 200 hours in, like how was i supposed to know to place an item in the tiny box while using the guide to craft to suddenly unlock EVERY RECIPE FOR THAT ITEM EVER
@@Unkle_Genny while yes its unlocked by killing a creature there's more, I just checked, from top to bottom you can see: how rare the creature is a text description how many you've killed (if it's an enemy) hit points damage defense knockback drops drop rates biome/event the creature spawns in also the amount you need to kill to unlock the bestiary info is lower on rarer enemies and this info is unlocked progressively so if you only need the stats of something for whatever reason you'll only need to kill a fraction of the max count
And I don't get why that would be a point against terraria as compared to minecraft. For the longest time minecraft didn't even have a recipe browser, you had to use the internet (or sit for hours randomly trying things I guess). Nor does minecraft ever tell you where to find things. There's nothing hinting at there even being a ender dragon or wither in minecraft. If players miss the guide's functionality and the bestiary, they're just bad players that doesn't pay attention to the UI 🤷♀️ But maybe the new generation of gamers are just too used to having games shove things in their faces these days? 🤔
Watching others play normal mode for the first time and missing all the differences makes me sad, because I know they aren’t going to play again and experience the additions
I've played Minecraft my whole life. I started playing Terraria 4 years ago. I think I have more hours in Terraria by this point (5,000+). It's really a testament to how special Terraria is. Sick video man, your little virtual world makes the video super digestible, this totally deserves to blow up.
You hit the nail on the spot when talking about the comparison to minecraft. Its exactly what i was feeling all those years trying to play through minecraft only to give up on it a few weeks later, picking up something else
I just dont get the "need for wiki" in terraria, id argue minecraft is way harder to beat as a blind player, you get absolutely 0 guidance besides the recipe book and the achievements, WHICH ARE THE EXACT SAME THINGS TERRARIA TELL YOU, but you also have the guide giving you hints and most importantly the bestiary that tells you soo much if you have the pacience to fight the mobs a few times
I've met a person in my entire life who understood redstone without a toturial from youtube or anyone else, the ONLY redstone tutorial is from the ancient city and if you're a blind player problably you won't get to there before the warden
@@LO-yj8ri I think the issue is that it's too easy to ignore the guide right now. The game should point the player more towards the help button for the first time imo
Both games even untill now are games where unless you have the wiki or watched people play the game to learn it that way you will be lost, however I’d say terraria does have greater wiki reliance since after learning the basics of minecraft i have never needed to refer to wiki but terraria after learning the basics of progression i was still looking at the wiki every session
Im flabbergasted at the production quality on display. The 3D environment looks so vibrant and lively, and your character having a subtle bounce really adds to some of the more (debatably) rigid animation bits. WHAT THE HECK ALGORITHM HOW DO YOU KEEP HIDING THIS FROM ME. Seriously though, keep at it! I really like your style, and want to see more :)
While I technically got into Minecraft first, Terraria actually ended up being my main childhood game. I had a friend that I played terraria with on his Xbox whenever we had sleepover or whatever and that was my version of the “Minecraft experience” that so many other people had. This is why the Minecraft soundtrack doesn’t have the same effect to me than other people and why the day theme for terraria makes me happy in every way when I hear it. Through my dad’s steam account and my steam account mixed with those years with my friend on Xbox, I’d say I’m at about 1500 hours in the game and I don’t regret that at all
you can see droprates of enemies in the bestiary, along with info, lore, and so many other things useful to understanding the game without needing a wiki that people overlook so much just like the guide's crafting and help features
terraria having almost limitless seeming content is what has drawn me into the game since it released on 360 with Ocram I also play every game with the wiki open though so I can lookup info and not waste too much time
One thing about people choosing minecraft too, is the fact of 'confort'. Not all players wants a 'fight'. A bunch just want to chill mindlessly doing buildings. Which is a type of game that terraria tries its best to not be. And I love it. Terraria is perfection, minecraft is 'good but could be better' aways.
you actually are not forced fo fight any big threat that often, sure sometimes some invasions events happens, or 1 of the 4 possible bosses might spawn randomly if you meet some requirements, but other than that there is nothing forcing peoples to fight, except for regular random enemys, that are not a deal once you get decent gear, minions and sentrys go BRRRRRT
@@Wyk_ you're not _forced_ to, but you are strongly encouraged to. the game is built with the assumption that you will be fighting things, and it shows.
Wha? No! I play both, and Terraria building is way more fun and way more encouraged in game. I've spent hundreds of hours just building in Terraria before. And I've never even considered building a good-looking base in minecraft. It's just way too limiting in MC.
@@toricon8070 The game has a mode called "Journey mode" which is literally just Terraria's version of a mix of creative/survival in Minecraft. Really I do recommend new players who are kinda scared by the difficulty/complexity of the game to try Journey mode. You don't have to fight any bosses in that mode if you don't want to. You don't have to fight any enemies either. You have complete control over the time of day, how much damage you do, how much damage you take, and a million other settings. Also in Journey mode there is this thing (I forget the name of it) which pretty much gives you infinite of an item so long as you have discovered the item and have it. You put the item into it and that item can be duplicated as many times as you want now. Journey mode doesn't get talked about nearly enough but that's mainly because Terraria players prefer to play Terraria in the "intended" way of fighting the bosses and progressing through and overcoming challenges.
terraria has also done several crossover events. theres crossover bosses weapons items SEEDS, etc. theres supposed to be a palworld crossover this year. Also, theres a happiness and economics system with the npcs that is dependent upon neighbors and location. theres also a native mod attachment with a ton of amazing modpacks, skins, etc. Also the guide will help with crafting progression and hints, and if you get really lost checking the achievements can usually point you in the right direction
Fun fact when Terraria started being called 2D Minecraft was accurate but with popularity the developers began branching off from MC elements like needing an axe to break down a house and use pickaxe to break all blocks and doodads (furniture)... The last time I played Terraria The Golem was the last boss and Duke Fishron got announced... I also like to say that I adore the production of this video! Having a fully animated 3D and appropriate music for the subject is my absolute favorite!
You said how long you played minecraft? How to craft, where to find, who is this? Were primarly questions for everyone in minecraft by many years. MC went online in 2009, and crafting book was added in 2017. Which mean there was almost a decade when no one knowed how to do anything. So it kinda weird that terraria push you away... bc it was EXACTLY like minecraft in the OG era. And for comparision. Terraria had official premiere in 2011. And 2 months later was added terraria version of crafting book.
This is a great video. So glad to see another person realize what terraria truly is. Btw this is crazy editing for such a small channel. Hope U get recognised more
This is one of the best Terraria video essays I've ever watched and you're telling me you only have under 2k subs and 23k views on the video? That's criminal! I can tell you put a lot of effort into this, if you keep up this quality I think you'll be able to take off. I'll definitely be subscribing and watching some more of your videos :)
Im not even 5 minutes in but wow i really love the editing in this video, especially the 3d parts because your style of 3d is soooo nostalgic. Awsome video man keep it up and your so underrated. Best of luck to you bro. (Also may I suggest modded Terraria)
preach, my dude. i started playing terraria a year ago cuz my friend highly suggested it. at first i was extremely skeptical, as you were, but through her insistence and her advice on how to progress, i finished the game and have not been able to break away from it since. (i guess it also helps that i dont mind having the wiki open whenever i need to know something. theres just so much content in the game that i've accepted that i'll never remember it all lol)
Terraria is in a Renaissance right now. It seems at least in the idea that it’s getting popular again on the Internet. It definitely has always had a dedicated fan base all this time though
oh my god is this video amazing, i was hyped for this video because it looked awesome on the community posts and i’m so glad i was right, it was SUCH a BANGER!
Great editing and animation! Loved how you used your own style with the games' ^^ I never played Minecraft, so it's always interesting to see these types of video essays :)
3:40 it's worth noting this is on expert, Terraria isn't like most games where "hard" is the new normal. Expert means you're an expert. I can already tell where this is going
I agree so much 😊 Veteran players of Terraria is treating expert as the new "normal" difficulty, but I would never advice a new player to start with it. Especially if they aren't very used to 2D platformers and such 🤔 Classic is the intended way of getting introduced to the game.
I had a friend who was negative about the game too. he just assumed it was bad because he could not even kill a zombie. after quitting, he said "oh this is just 2d Minecraft" even after I got a character who has beaten the game and even still, he kept denying the game was any different from Minecraft. I hope he gets this video on his recommended like I did.
Some people are like that, I have a few discord friends who have gotten that way not with Terraria but with other games we've tried. They died or weren't liking the differences between this game and a game they were used to so they just said "yeah I dont really like that game it's just worse than X" which is more reasonable than your friend but still.
How I wish for the day that Minecraft and Terraria would stop being compared to one-another. They are two separate, completely different in so many games. No person in their right mind would say that TF2 and Fortnite are the same games just because they are both fps games. Yet that’s how people treat Minecraft and terraria since they are both sandbox games (which terraria is kinda teetering on the edge of.)
I have to say, your editing and character are lovely for the eyes. Not a lot of folks have a 3D space to present their videos, so it took me by surprise. I will be anticipating more of your videos in the future 😊
I was just never into the pixel stuff as done in terraria but I finally tried it and the best decision of my life seriously. I have been playing for last month or so and it just doesn’t get boring. I start playing and it’s hard to stop. Doing the same blood moons over and over still hasn’t gotten boring. Kill the slimes is still fun. The art style is despite what I thought reallly really amazing. The community is not toxic, just great things to say about terraria man.
the point of Minecraft seems to be not combat/progression, which makes it a counterpoint for terraria (like the yin and yang or something). I think that mc should focus on player freedom (like building, Redstone, and skipping progression) and internal motivation while still guiding the player towards all the different things they can do (like telling them to open the advancement tab, and making multiple tabs focus on other things [like getting to the end/basic game mechanics/challenges] so that the player can know what to do and decide what to do)
i was gonna say that. MC is also more kid friendly. it would be hard for a 5 year old that really enjoys video games to get into terraria, as it can be viewed as a difficult game. But with minecraft, you have so much freedom, that it is quite easy to just build a dirt hut and wait out every night!
I feel like it could do a lot better with the bosses though. They are a bit too basic in my opinion. Almost to the point where they just feel like tanky enemies. With one exception being the ender dragon but even that is rather basic. I would like just a bit more depth to them so they feel more like bosses than what they are. It would also be nice to have them drop some genuinely neat things that still aren't needed but can add to the fun.
Ive got around 4000 hrs in Terraria (not including xbox playtime) and to say that terraria is an endless stream of serotonin is an understatement. Its replay ability and 'openes' for creativity makes me crave a new game of terraria all the time, just to try this new loadout or build something new and with terrarias modding community it only makes me want to play terraria more. Unfortunately, all of my friends see terraria as 2d minecraft and never experience the game with an open mind (i have that problem with some games as well) so most of my terraria has been solo but at least it makes it harder which is funner.
This video. This video summarizes the reason of why I still play this game for fun, even after playing literally 4,000 hours of this god forsaken game. Everything about makes me feel happy; the community, the devs, the playability, the OST, the mods, everything, absolutely everything about this game makes me feel happy
Funnily enough, it being 2d did not bother me at all. I actually enjoy 2d games far more than 3d ones. When I was a kid I was the same as everyone else, a minecraft fan. But then my half brother shoved me terraria and I instantly started to like it more even tho I said I wouldnt. Then I entered my minecraft hate phase just because of how much better terraria was. Now I play both but minecraft is just not that great in my eyes anymore.
Very rarely play a game with a wiki open tbh - one of the main ideas of a game for me is discovery. It's hardly surprising ppl finish so many big games so quickly with such a thing.
I've been mainly playing Minecraft for years now, I have Terraria but haven't played it. After watching your video I'm about to jump into it. Also it gives me a bit of nostalgia, I'm waiting for a game like this that looks like old school top down Zelda or Champions of Norrath.
My headcannon of these two games, that the terrarian and steve are normal humans but got reincarnated to another world, they're destiny to become a protector and champion of that realm againts from Eldritch entities.they are reality-bending beings that can create things from their hand and can carry a multiple items using their own little pocket dimension as an inventory.
I'm happy about how I got into the game. I heard people calling it 2D minecraft back in the day, I even thought it myself, however that was never a negative in my mind, and seeing the Eye of Cthulhu on the cover was interesting to my. I played it with my brother on PS3 ages ago getting end game items early game from my friend who bugged the game after beating. Then, years later, like 3 years ago, I played the game by myself and used youtube as it's a look it up yourself game and beat the game, then move on to expert mode and the game just felt far more complete in expert mode I remember the day I beat the my first mech boss in expert mode (Skeletron prime) on moble, I had to pause the game, and lock my phone (not turn off) hoping it would stay on as I had summoned the boss but had to do something important. I came back and was happy to find the game didn't reload but as I was in a losing streak to the Mechs bosses (about 0-3) I thought I'd lose anyway, but every fight matters and losing would mean I'd have to farm again for bosses, and try to get better gear but I was already near the limit of that stage (premech boss) but I pulled it off also not using the nurse once till Moon lord.
i used to play minecraft back in 2014-2017 but when i got my first pc i tried terraria and got addicted, this game had cemented a standard in my brain that games should should always get excited and frustrating in order for it to feel more rewarding and enjoyable, i used to play minecrafr on creative mode building things and just chilling, i also used to play other games with cheat activated but since i tried terraria, i became more open to other genres of game and stopped being a noob for once though i still suck in most of the games i play today.

It's really fun. I'm also working on a Legend of Zelda map in Terraria. In Minecraft, I'm hosting an immersive factions server for my family & cousins. We have 8 people online and it's really fun too. I love building in both games and they both satisfy me in that way. Just my thoughts
Modern Newbies forget to do the tutorial
Yes, and even at the end of hard mode it's still a challenge and nothing feels trivial. Love it.
anytime someone says terraria is like minecraft, say "well how many occult rituals and demonic summonings have you performed in MINCRAFT?
I'm guessing you don't play modded Minecraft
@@DrCrazyEvil that's not minecraft that's MODDED minecraft. if you want to get into semantics, Terriaria mods allow you to fight ACTUAL GOD. like, THE god. and whether you kill it or die, your game crashes all the same.

Thanks for playing Terraria ^^
When I first started the game on the XBox 360, there actually was a tutorial mode that told you "okay cut down a tree" then "okay here's how to build a house" then "here's some ores you can make stuff with".
Man I remember that tutorial world! It had a secret structure in the underworld that had a grappling hook.
It actually still exists (though updated) but its not on the PC version. Perhaps they will bring it to PC eventually.
from my experience the Terraria community is lovely, I also played on that tutorial world years back, it should have stayed though
@@popov9651 Yeah, thats a big reason too
@ thx for asking!
@@jerryeljeremy7790in classic mode it's pretty easy to just push them away with your shortsword. But yeah you are right it is pretty hard.
Minecraft doesn’t have any objectives. And if it does it literally tells you at the beginning “build, craft, explore…”
at least you have a recipe book in Mc, I hate the terraria guide system and can't play without recipe browser
How does this not have more views, very good production, great job!
I see that it’s new now so hopefully it blows up
Minecraft: "It ain't much but it's honest work."
Terraria: "Strike me Zeus! You don't have the ba-"
**Lightning strike**
HE HURLED HIS THUNDERBOLT
That sums it up pretty nicely lol
@psebb3502 I figured that out with the tutorial. But they removed the tutorial for some reason so yeah. Bad luck I guess?
Correction - drop information is only unlocked in the Beastiary after killing a certain number of a given mob.
@@Unkle_Genny while yes its unlocked by killing a creature there's more, I just checked, from top to bottom you can see:
how rare the creature is
a text description
how many you've killed (if it's an enemy)
hit points
damage
defense
knockback
drops
drop rates
biome/event the creature spawns in
also the amount you need to kill to unlock the bestiary info is lower on rarer enemies
and this info is unlocked progressively so if you only need the stats of something for whatever reason you'll only need to kill a fraction of the max count
Vintage Story is a great example of how to make satisfying progression without even needing boss progression.
Thank you for playing on Expert mode.
Watching others play normal mode for the first time and missing all the differences makes me sad, because I know they aren’t going to play again and experience the additions
Wait... that means I again need to make new world (and maybe character) for... I lost the count Terraria...
Aaaaand it's same case for Minecraft...
Expert mode is much easier because the loots are more generous.
@ No?
@@chadgrimwell8380 Expert mode isn't easy at all, it's very hard.
Problem is if the guide dies and you don’t understand housing you won’t get the guide back till you do.
@@LO-yj8ri I think the issue is that it's too easy to ignore the guide right now. The game should point the player more towards the help button for the first time imo
Before ruined portals there was literally no way for you to know about the nether other than seeing somebody else do it
Both games even untill now are games where unless you have the wiki or watched people play the game to learn it that way you will be lost, however I’d say terraria does have greater wiki reliance since after learning the basics of minecraft i have never needed to refer to wiki but terraria after learning the basics of progression i was still looking at the wiki every session
Through my dad’s steam account and my steam account mixed with those years with my friend on Xbox, I’d say I’m at about 1500 hours in the game and I don’t regret that at all
you can see droprates of enemies in the bestiary, along with info, lore, and so many other things useful to understanding the game without needing a wiki that people overlook so much just like the guide's crafting and help features
this video deserves waaaay more views, keep up this great work

@@Person-dj5vp minecraft's the same, wdym?

@@Person-dj5vp just play 1.7.10 lmao, I do
@psebb3502 If you have to play a previous version of a game for it to be good, it's probs not a good game anymore
terraria having almost limitless seeming content is what has drawn me into the game since it released on 360 with Ocram
I also play every game with the wiki open though so I can lookup info and not waste too much time
One thing about people choosing minecraft too, is the fact of 'confort'.
@@santiagoindisguise7289😂so ur just lying
terraria has also done several crossover events. theres crossover bosses weapons items SEEDS, etc. theres supposed to be a palworld crossover this year.
The animation is so good!!! This is probably the most unique looking terraria video I've watched.

(i guess it also helps that i dont mind having the wiki open whenever i need to know something. theres just so much content in the game that i've accepted that i'll never remember it all lol)
In terraria there is no two gameplay that are the same i can play it for 10000 hour and still find a new thing that haven't seen before
Terraria is in a Renaissance right now. It seems at least in the idea that it’s getting popular again on the Internet. It definitely has always had a dedicated fan base all this time though

the hardest part of terraria is finding what your supposed to do at the start, after that its only fun
Me seeing youtubers having trouble playing Terraria after beating Terraria for the 99th time in master mode with only magic weapons: ._______.
This video alone convinced me to possible try terraria
I had a friend who was negative about the game too. he just assumed it was bad because he could not even kill a zombie. after quitting, he said "oh this is just 2d Minecraft" even after I got a character who has beaten the game and even still, he kept denying the game was any different from Minecraft. I hope he gets this video on his recommended like I did.
He’s just rage baiting, don’t waste your time
Some people are like that, I have a few discord friends who have gotten that way not with Terraria but with other games we've tried.
I’m an extra new beginner so I don’t know much but what I do know is that this video was great
22:18 Literally the first Npc you see when you create a world.
the point of Minecraft seems to be not combat/progression, which makes it a counterpoint for terraria (like the yin and yang or something).
Thank you so much for making this video. Hits everything that I agree with in Terraria.
Insanely well made video for your channel size, I'm gonna watch everything you upload bro 😂
bro. why is this dude so underrated.
why is the budget for this video so high
its beautiful
As someone who didn't grow up with Minecraft, I just treated Terraria as an action RPG with some building and crafting on the side.
i've never 1nce came close to the conclusion that minecraft was more appealing than terraria.
Well made video, bud. I really enjoyed the visuals you got going on
Ive got around 4000 hrs in Terraria (not including xbox playtime) and to say that terraria is an endless stream of serotonin is an understatement.
Terraria achievments are also amazing! Reading and earning them feels like legendary tales of a hero, the hero beeing you!
My favorite part of both games is that they have a chance on the title screen to suggest the other as if saying this is a good game. Try it.
It's calamity time
Funnily enough, it being 2d did not bother me at all.
THIS IS A MASTERPIECE
i can tell there is so much effort behind the video ! great work

I really dislike when people say Terraria is just 2D Minecraft. It paints a false image that, like in your case, push people away from it at the start

Welcome to the Terraria community! I'm so so SO very proud and happy to see that you have one of my all time favorite games a try! ❤
It has a lot more variety in its base game, good game
i got into terraria by finding its guide books at the library so i had a very weird experience with it
The MF Doom mask cracks me up considering the video subject 😆
the one thing that make every single one of us angry is when terraria is called 2d minecraft. just call it by its name its not that hard.
While I do agree 100% with your description and all...the fact that it has the same QOL mods as Minecraft definitely helped me personally
11:23 install calamity mod then, you will get +1000 hours to this game
