As long as you are holding the staff/axe when flipping the lever (or other activation mechanism) to actuate the boxes, seeds will drop even if the herbs are not blooming. Huh...this randomly appeared in my recommended, and it actually taught me that drills are borked. I knew I wasn't crazy preferring picks over drills, even if my friends say otherwise. Nice vid~ 👌
So much attention to detail as well. So many of the visualizations were done with Terraria blocks rather than out-of-game graphics, which is just an incredible touch.
pro tip : use a gravedigger shovel to explore the jungle early game, as the jungle is mainly composed of mud blocks (soft blocks), getting around will feel like cutting butter with a hot knife.
The funnier part about drills is that they are even more bugged or exploitable than just that. Mining buffs apply to drills if you use block replacement with it, unpractical but has niche uses in speedruns as we do craft drills for hardmode ores. Also on top of that from how I understand it because drills have a super low use time unlike pickaxes if you spam click (I'm talking +10cps) you can make them mine faster than normal. If you want to see an example go to Afroman's recent ML WR and around the 25m mark he does it to get some mythril ore. Does any of this matter in a non-speedrun context, no it doesn't. The underground enchanted sword spawn is crazy. I have hundreds of hours in Terraria and have never seen one spawn like that. Something strange about lava traps I only recently discovered is that they can spawn in the dungeon. about weapons on 15:00 the dearclops sentry also produce light when placed(and when it attacks) like the explosive setry, but it is way smaller and for a sort period another thing is that magma stone (the acessory of the inferno) makes melee weapons produce light so something like nightedge (a weapons that can produce a little bit of light) can produce ALOT of light while keeping you safe and dont even use touch those helped alot but thanks for the explosive sentry tip that one i didnt know

@@sorbetcafe I have an update! I did a simple test where I cut down 10 trees in my tree farm with a Light Axe of Regrowth vs a Sawtooth Shark. If the chainsaws had the same issue as drills, then these two would have equivalent speeds. However, it took ~4.923 seconds for the axe and ~4.158 seconds for the chainsaw. For the test I used smart cursor and I was always in range of the next tree due to the density of my tree farm. This wasn't super precise or frame by frame, but I did measure the times in recording software and the difference is big enough for me to conclude that the issue doesn't affect chainsaws. Quick Tree Math: Axe of Regrowth - Tool speed 12, light modifer 12 * .85 = 10.2, round down to 10. Axe power 150%, trees have 500% health, takes 4 hits. Should take 40 ticks to break. Sawtooth Shark - Tool speed 4. Axe power 70%, trees have 500% health, takes 8 hits. If the issue does exist, it should take 40 ticks, same as the axe. If the issue doesn't exist, it should take 32 ticks.

49:39 you can also break the sand from the top which makes it so that no sand falls on you and all the damage you take is the suffocation damage
Meanwhile me: hit block, get thing, be happy
Damn. I was expecting some unnecessary, kind of... "Hypixel-Skyblock-Esque" sorta thing, just outlining a basic progression without much help.
This is awesome and gonna be transformative for the community
about weapons on 15:00
the dearclops sentry also produce light when placed(and when it attacks) like the explosive setry, but it is way smaller and for a sort period
another thing is that magma stone (the acessory of the inferno) makes melee weapons produce light
so something like nightedge (a weapons that can produce a little bit of light) can produce ALOT of light while keeping you safe and dont even use touch
those helped alot
but thanks for the explosive sentry tip that one i didnt know
57 minutes of pure gold.
"they aren't the best ore but they are usually good enough" same
15:32 If you want to pyramid hunt just use the housing query on the bottom of your screen in the desert until it says "this room is too big"
This guy uses the weirdest vocabulary I have ever heard but I love it
I don't really have anything to add, but there was so much work put into this that I want to do my part with the algo.
this was a really good video, i listened to it while playing
1:04 me hearing this remembering back to that time i excavated nearly my entire underground desert without finding an ancient chisel
so im watching this, so far pretty good video, but i must ask, was the red thing that wen across the screen a slugcat? particularly hunter? that, and at 7:05, is that gourmand? just asking because i am just genuinely curious!
either way, love the cute lil drawings :P

@@sorbetcafe sulgtcar :D
currently about 30 mins in, and so far, really interesting video! never knew that there was much of a difference between the main/alternative ores! well, with exception to HM ores, but yeah, so far, so good!
edit: one thing that i kinda wanna note is at 36:20, you talk about chlorophyte, you should leave a couple of pieces of chlorophyte so that it can grow lol
edit 2: just finished the video, and really good! now, this is just a guess, but was the "mice" you were talking about at the end the cute an funi slugcar cameos?
Also spearmaster is crawling across the screen at 24:51 :^-
one thing i would like to mention is that you can do a trick similar to the metal detector trick but with bast statues in the desert, if you see that you have the bast defense buff that means theres a cabin nearby and you can find it with the edge trick
Redigit could legit watch these and learn a fair bit. I'm not even kidding. There's so much here that goes well beyond what Redigit likely ever actually thought out and are more 'consequences of my programming that I hadn't considered' situations.
Dude this isnt a video... This is a video thesis in support of a PhD in analysis. I've never hit sub so fast.
7:40 another reason to pick crimson
what about the worm scarf tho
@@thorvaldspear the worm scarf is good if you get hit often but against bosses that deal have a really strong attack for example moon lord with his deathray the brain of counfusion dodge can save you from dying while with the worm scarf you would still take a lot of damage and you could die, thats why i think the brain of confusion is better than the worm scarf plus if you are playing terraria on one hp it helps a lot
@@RZBAKA Interesting, I haven't considered that aspect before. Maybe it's finally time to try out Crimson.
@@RZBAKA...Or play on the drunk seed & get both!
This is amazing. Thank you for posting.
I love comprehending swing tool at block=block break via a video format guide
Great video! Just one small question, do chainsaws/jackhammers suffer from the same coding issue as the drills?
I'm not sure
Quick Tree Math:
Axe of Regrowth - Tool speed 12, light modifer 12 * .85 = 10.2, round down to 10.
