So much potential for further improvement... Imagine LED panels underneath that can display pretty much anything. Like movement heatmaps, ball bounces or even the score. Plus tons of ideas not yet had.
I remember seeing movement heat maps and stats of distance covered per game/match for each player a few years ago by PSA. Not sure how they did it on traditional floors (maybe visual analysis?).
Anyway, good points!
And it could always show from which side the serve have to be taken.
I personally never can remember it :D
ASB has partnered with a company to do some really awesome motion tracking and court graphics. There is a video demo on UA-cam.
@@gamolly They wore these bands below their chest that tracked everything
Thanks Joey, for taking the time, explaining the dynamic of the new floor.
So many interesting facts about something I have zero knowledge about. I hope this flooring gets implemented in all/most tournaments. Joey is, as always, informative and entertaining.
Thanks for the explanation! I was so curious! I wonder what would happen though if a strip of LED malfunctions in the middle of the game, it might look awkward. How easy is it to get those panels removed and placed again?
Was hoping for this video!
Thanks Joey, much appreciate you taking the time to show us.
Wow, that is brilliant and exciting!!! thanks Joey!
Very informative, thanks.
Feel like there’s a lot of potential to take squash into a new modern era with this and attract people to the game if it was possible to get this into sports complexes that anyone can use. Obviously one step at a time starting with the pros but hopefully one day Joe public can play on something like this 🤞🏼
I'd like to see LED lights that flash when the balls been hit out, its could be done through sensors and would help mitigate disputes about if the ball hit the out line or not. I love the fact squash is starting to catch up with the digital age that we live in.
Likes freeking awesome with that spring. I did wonder how glass was going to affect players feet/ankles/knees/achilles and other tendons as dlass (as we know) has no actual 'give' in it. So it is great to see how the floor is sprung. Love the innovations coming along. Would have thought perhaps a yellow or the purple lines would be the way forward though..(Thankfully the red lines are gone :) )
Would be amazing if all the 'Out-lines' could flash of the ball hits them - remove any doubt about in or out. They have it for cricket already
great video thanks Joey!
So cool love this stuff
Epic video!
great explanation man keep going 👍🔥
Not a single club in North America will have these floors surely due to cost? Are there any numbers around cost comparisons to wood? Great video by PSA, thanks
Love the in depth explanation. How do we scale this out and make it accessible to more than just the pros?
Great review! Thanks, Joey. What is the cost comparison between this and wooden floors in terms of initial installation and long term cost of ownership?
Good content
I'm surprised that we haven't yet got sensors that can detect when the ball is out or a double bounce.
There's a German company that makes courts that record every bounce (and footstep) and light it up afterwards, there are some in southwestern Connecticut in the U.S. (near New York City); it shouldn't be a far jump from there.
That’s cool. Any bit of tech that can eliminate the tiresome arguments on court is a huge step forward.
0:48 anyone know where I can park my bike?
That is really cool, but probably very expensive hopefully all the major competitions can adopt this technology.
They should work on getting sensors on the marking to eliminate the whole in or out of the court issue/problem/arguments/check-it check-it's.
The LED things is useless otherwise.
what about the oils from the sweat rather than just the water from sweat
I'll take one - how much ?
Whaaaattt
but why?
seems to me the players did not like the floor - especially Hesham!
1:14 even in a video about the court itself you see still the cheat's shameful tactics 😅
What are you on about? Who is cheating?
Yup, Asal doing the mega back-track
@@baldcat1810 Asal plays his shot and takes 2 big steps backwards towards Makin to block him.
Very surprised they used that footage, I would have left it at Paul Coll's dives.
That’s right, Asal moves back to the T but in an backwards angled line to where he knows Makin is trying to pass.
I've been on a glass floor but it was in a discoteque🤣🤣🤣
Agree that it doesn't look as good or clear on tv--just a bit grey. If they banned diving from the game altogether it would further speed up the game. Thanks for that Joey.
Didn't touch his cheek to it once. Didn't lick it once. Unacceptable.
