He would have just put so much cut on the ball and with him miss hitting it would have made the strings cut even more

If you watched the match, he broke his strings about 6 shots prior. Then continued on with the rally just destroying them after each shot.

I once hit a guy in the eye with the ball although I can't remember exactly how it happened now.
I made sure he was okay and while he was bent over I looked at the ball to see a wet patch in the perfect shape of an eye !!
I couldn't stop laughing !!
