OMG just came here to learn how to play the song and started playing other Greg Kihn songs... Now reading this comment, it really breaks my heart. Didn't know about his pass away... It was a really great man, Rest In Peace
The memory of listening to this tune sitting in the backseat of my pops 1984 t-top Z28 Camaro. "This song is balls" that was his way of giving a song a gold stamp approval! They really don't write them like this anymore.
@@johnmilner7603 I agree John. I LOVE the 80's, but only up to 1986. 1987 & '88 was a big wind down. After that rap, hip hop and everything else has been terrible to this day. That's over 30 years. Everything's all over with---for good.
The song had better put your kids and grandkids into college. it's been kicking ass since I first heard (and fell in helpless love with) it in 1981, glad to hear that it's been doing YOU some wonderful good.
You still got it Man, the voice, the playing of the guitar and the great personality, a song that lasted through out the decades and till the end of days and still sounds awesome, thank you for this gem of a song, truly the best, you and your band are greatness beyond belief.
When I worked at Apple in the late 1990's, being a fan of Apple products, Greg brought in Cheap Trick to the Apple Campus cafeteria. I happen to stand in line next to him waiting for a burger and shyly said "I love your morning show" and he could not of been nicer. Thanking me, asking my opinion on things. Just one nice guy. Even answered emails I sent him. Yes, I sat in the table next to Cheap Trick, it was cool :-) Greg Kihn is one class act.
This song reminds me a girl I just loved her and she listened this song every time every where, she is gone our of the atmosphere and now I listen this song again y I feel she is back again with me for a while, thanks for this ❤
Greg, How could I not sing along at home? With the window wide open. Very sad news. So cool that you sang with a Stern "Nugent" game behind you. This Beserkley fan mourns you. RIP
One of the greatest songs I've ever heard personally. Sounds just as fine as the very first day I heard it! Thanks Greg nice job. Or should I say fan-fuKHIN- tastic!
One of the best things I have ever seen on UA-cam! A man with his guitar playing and singing his classic song directly from his house to our ears. Wtf!! No comments!!!
This is an oddity in music.......Greg has not degraded with age as most singers but rather has gotten BETTER! There is more feeling and passion in his voice than the original recording. I guess that's what happens when you write and perform a song for the ages. :D
A great album of his to go back and listen to is "With the Naked Eye" (1979-ish?). There is a joy to his music that a lot of his contemporaries seemed to miss. He's having fun, and you can tell. Thank you Greg.
Greg amazing k..... i love all since always.... You make art....... Thanks god for him..... From south of brazil....sennas place....... Long live ...your king
I was into heavier Rock back then, but I always thought this was a very cool song. Heard it today in a Hampton Hotel and had to look it up. Congrats on the success of this song Greg....And your voice still sounds great.
Hello from Bangkok. This song did really entertain us during our childhood here even its name was hard to remember. His voice not much change and very nice to see you at present here in UA-cam....Many thanks for uploading....
I normally don't dig acoustical versions of this songs, but wow, this is great! It's great to see Greg Kihn can still sing like he used to in the early 80's, and his style of humor works with me.
RIP, thanks for helping to make the 80s awesome.
Just heard the news-I loved this song-will be part of my life forever...NEVER met Greg but seemed like a really nice guy too...RIP!

"And they haven't since 1984." Great line!
Though it came out in '81 so...just sayin'

1984 - "Against All Odds" - maybe what he meant, who knows
RIP Greg Kihn. Thank you for being part of my awesome 80’s soundtrack. 🙏🏻

Wish they would still write em like that today!! Miss my 80's!!!
Me too!!! So much.
"This paid for my kids' college" LOL. I love the honest humor.
That’s what my orthodontist said to me every time I saw him between 1984 and 1995.
Absolutely AMAZING! Voice INTACT after 30 years! They Sure Don't Write 'em like that ANYMORE!!!!
I absolutely love the 80s ......I was in my 40s then but the music was Great!

Dude, I've got the biggest smile on my face right now about to replay this for the third time in a row. That acoustic version freaking works!

Increíble que el propio Greg kihn se equivoque en el año, dijo 1984.

Sang it in his range. Makes it easy for him to sing now. Smart career move, imo.
