It would seem that a lot of people here were directed from the usage of the song in other media. I really hope the creators of this song finally get proper compensation and recognition for a priceless contribution to the spirit of rock and bands writing and playing songs they created and put their souls into.

They don’t “WRITE LIKE THIS ANYMORE”😥😥
Exactly. They don’t make music like this anymore unfortunately.
Screaming bitches that's all today.
@@andrewsstation6436 Not since the "talent drought" which started in the 90s
@@johnnewell5294 I wouldn't say thats when the talent drought started
@@CarnageAnarchist earlier.
I was 9 years old when this song came out. How I miss the 80's!
The best decade on everything, specially music.
one of the greatest songs ever written.
......... GREG KIHN'S MUSIC WILL LIVE ON ....
This song has been in my head since the 80s and accidentally came across it a few minutes ago. That "ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah, ahh" line is among the catchiest and contagious I experienced in the 80s!
I remember seeing them perform the starting song on Saturday Night Live back when it was the best show ever before it went down hill
Good song with clever lyrics. Talking about songs not being what they once were, when really it's about loss.
LYRICS
We had broken up for good
Just an hour before
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah, ah
And now I'm staring at the bodies
As they're dancing 'cross the floor
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah, ah
And then the band slowed the tempo
And the music gets you down
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah, ah
It was the same old song
With a melancholy sound
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah, ah
They don't write 'em like that anymore
They just don't write 'em like that anymore
We'd been living together for a million years
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah, ah
But now it feels so strange out of the atmospheres
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah, ah
And then the jukebox plays a song I used to know
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah, ah
And now I'm staring at the bodies
As they're dancing so slow
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah, aah
They don't write 'em like that anymore
They don't write 'em like that anymore
Mm, now I wind up staring at an empty glass
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah, ah
'Cause it's so easy to say
That she'll forget your past
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah, aah
They don't write 'em like that anymore
No, they just don't write 'em like that anymore
They don't write 'em like that anymore
They just don't write 'em like that anymore
They just don't, no, they don't, no no, uh-uh
They just don't write 'em like that anymore
They just don't
Thank you so much 🙏😊
❤
Omg this song is absolute perfection
"they don't write 'em like that anymore"

@@ckotcher1 It's good to see young people that can appreciate music made before their time. Awesome!
This song brings back sooooo many memories. I remember the first time I heard this on the radio. Great days.
Really Solid Song Love This 💯
Claassic riff for a song , love it.
It would seem that a lot of people here were directed from the usage of the song in other media. I really hope the creators of this song finally get proper compensation and recognition for a priceless contribution to the spirit of rock and bands writing and playing songs they created and put their souls into.
Takes me back in time and reminds me of the good times back in the day when times were simple
Awesome!!!!!!
They don't write likethat anymore!!!
This song is so appealing that it transcends the generations!
If anybody knows any other break-up song that makes you feel as good as this one then I'm curious to know what it is.
People, play this at my funeral!!
So your a ghost
