1998 Honda Accord, started getting a VTECH System Malfunction and around the same time a possible symptom. My car cannot go above 4000 rpms without stalling (which normally isn't a problem). The problem occurred at a similar time with the VTECH System Malfunction. Does this problem help narrow down the cause?
Mine was doing the same thing i still have the code but once i changed the oil and filter and made sure it wasnt low on oil it didnt have trouble going over 4,000 rpm
Dude mine has the exact same problem. Its and 01 accord, its throwing a vtech code bank 1 whatever. Did you ever find a solution? Pls lmk@devonlambert5753
@@tims1323 yes i was so low on oil had to add 2.5qts .. it ends up screwing up the emissions and thus the check engine light came on.. but the light takes several cycles to turn off
you have another issue then. I bought an engine code reader thats used with the app Fixd...i plugged it in under the steering wheel when my engine code lights and it told me the problem or just take it to a mechanic
Thanks for posting. Could an overfilled crankcase cause the same fault code?
Sometimes you have to clean out that block the oil sensor is connected to

Also could it be the oil filter? I don't when the last time the previous owner changed it, so it may be very old.
I got same problem can’t go over 4k did you fix?
Mine is 2003 it don’t stall but its like 4k rpm is redline

Would a leak from the v tech solenoid cause this code to gonoff
Very unlikely but in the event that you're solenoid is leaking just best to replace the whole thing.
is it b+ or 5v power in?
B+. The 5v is a baseline voltage so the computer can see if something is wrong
check your oil. Lighr went on bc I had to add 2 quarts of oil ..older car
did ur light go away after u added oil?
