Question for Viewers: We know that pepper spray is obviously effective, but what are the pros and cons to this delivery method?

Pro: you have a "non-lethal" means of thwarting an attack at your disposal, (IF you train with it!). Con: there's a high probability that you get that stuff on yourself in the process of drenching your attacker.
If the gun is visible, it is possible that the attacker to avoid it, simply approaching very fast, doing something like crab boxing maybe... From close distance is hard to spray him, but not impossible thow...
Also, my main concern is the wind! I tried once , when I was young and stupid, to make a joke with my friends, and play with some pepper sprays against each other... because of the wind, the ones that were in the wrong side took the entire load, even if it was his spray. But I think our pepper sprays were cheap things, no one has so much to suffer as you in the video! :D :D :D Maybe, also, we had some drinks before, I don't know! :D
Pro:
- it's an excellent deterrent by it's shape alone
- easier to aim than regular pepper spray
Con:
- as with all pepper sprays, it's not effective immediately and it effects differently, depending on the person
- since it's more of a mist than a gel, it's dangerous to the user, if blown upwind
The gun is too bulky. A regular can would be fine.
The decon is extremely bad and made things worse than it needed to be. Next time just run a garden hose down the side of the face and in each eye, while leaning down. No more Dawn and no more puddles of water that will only spread the crap all over your face.
Ive been sprayed over 10 times, I'm a correctional officer and I took every opportunity to be pepper sprayed for training cause I wanted to get used to it. Spoiler alert!!! You dont get used to it

My sister had to go through it in Army training, she got through that pretty well, but a lot of people had issues with it. You had to take your mask off, and say your name and rank (to force you to breath). I already know I would not handle it well, my eyes are watering just watching this video, lol.

I got attacked and sprayed... dead on straight in my face/eyes.... THE WORST PAIN EVER. Then showering lit me back up.
I’m current law enforcement (15 years in) and the spray doesn’t bother me that bad...the taser on the other hand 😒.....If I have to choose, I’ll take the spray all day over the taser!

My friends laugh at me because I carry my 380 ankle and the mace gun on my hip when I do my deliveries.. I tell them it's less detectives and paperwork if I use my mace gun instead of my 380.. plus it's funner to watch him squirm . Your friend the delivery man who delivers pizza in the ghetto🤣🤣

Iam a armed Special Police Officer here in Baltimore, MD. I am assigned to a methadone clinic. There is no shortage of action. I carry the older model of this mace gun, the one that actually looks like a pistol. I have used my mace gun at least 6 different times in my career. EACH TIME IT STOPS THE FIGHT !.... I buy these as gifts for my family, friends, and students and its awesome because getting a concealed carry permit here is very difficult. This product is a awesome response to average unarmed attack.
Was it the old metal version? I got lucky and bought one off ebay. I heard those were made in USA as well unlike the black plastic one they currently make which is made in China. The new cartridges need the black tip adapters that you have to contact customer service for. They just don't make them like they used to.

It was really brutal and after I didn’t want to listen to anyone. I just wanted my face to stop being on fire. Worst weapon so far.

I honestly don't get why this doesn't have more views on it. Not only is it funny and a hell of a commercial for OC spray (It's turns a man Jay's size from this to THIS) but you get a real look at who someone actually is in such an honest and vulnerable moment.
They say the eyes are the window to the soul but having them swollen shut with mace does a pretty good job too.
Watching Jay afterwards was hard, i felt bad.
Watching Mike cop it after he did that to Jay though was not as bad......

I actually wouldn't say you need one for these. I've never had a negligent discharge, the trigger takes a good bit of force to get it to actually engage.
I recommend, from experience, in the future use tear free (baby shampoo) instead of Dawn or regular dish soap. Lol. If ur fancy, milk help too, but u need a lot. And instead of buckets, try a low pressure hose for easier rinsing.
Let's make this go to the top, it is very useful.
After rinsing with the baby soap, let it dry. You will be able to remove the spray by scrubbing the dry OC off of the skin, and avoid the dreaded reactivation you might have if you take a shower or use the restroom.
As an Emergency Room nurse we used milk-the more fat content (in the milk, not the recipient) the better.
I definitely think the baby Shampoo is a better fit because I would imagine dawn would burn your eyes

Problem is, like with any self defense weapon, if you don't learn to use them correctly your attacker may get a hold of it and spray you instead

My friend was walking home from the grocery store carrying his groceries. A woman thought he was following her and pepper sprayed him as he walked around the corner. The police didn't charge her with anything (she paid for his groceries) and he was really upset. Seeing how bad this hurts makes me understand; we all thought he was being super unreasonable.
Mike, the PROPER response to when someone says, "I don't think this is a good idea" is: "Noted." and just do it anyway.

Pffff I'm torn Mike I'm really torn. On 1 hand I love this channel I think that for the short time I've been watching it, it has managed to become my favourite channel on UA-cam. I use this stuff all the time! Milk neutralizes it, not water. Dawn dish soap gets it off skin! Worked everytime for me though. Everytime. Even if they are drugged out.

@@anthonyfletcher8053 I use milk to neutralize the burn and effect. Like they were rinsing with water, use milk instead. I use straight dawn in the shower, scrub several times, colder water the better. Can tell whennl its all gone when you apply hot water and feel nothing burning. Most times you use pepper spray, you get spray on yiu too if your to close.

Yep. If a person is hit with good pepper spray they are not going to want to keep messing with you. Very few people are NOT affected by this stuff.

I've touched a high powered cattle fence and held onto it, and also snorted cayenne pepper before. I'd rather touch the fence 100 times than get maced once

As a serious aside, this is not a substitute for good hand skills. I have sprayed people who drop immediately and i have sprayed people where it had nearly zero effect and had to go hands on and get myself contaminated in the process. Food for thought.

@@fantomphoenix6170 no shit. But most people do not want to carry guns around on them. Pepper spray is very very effective. It will slow down almost anyone - and do it very quickly.
If you sprayed people and it had almost zero effect you were either using bad pepper spray or you did not hit them in the face or neck area with it. Rarely does a person get hit with pepper spray and it not affect them within a few seconds. If affects some more than others, but I have never seen a person get sprayed with good pepper spray where it did nothing to them.
I have seen hundreds and hundreds of Marines get hit with something very similar and never seen one that was not affected to the point they really want to keep fighting.

Having been pepper sprayed, it's rough when trying to pour something on your face makes your throat close up and makes it hard to breathe. I've found that the easiest set of solutions is to immediately flush as much of your fave as possible with whatever liquid is on hand, then to keep flushing with milk for a few minutes until the eyes can be opened again. The sooner you can open your eyes the better. From there, make that Dawn based antidote you used and try to keep your head down in it for as long as possible.
I think it looking like a gun is a minus, as that might lead to confusion with law enforcement (which might even lead to them shooting you)
We are going to explore that soon... we are NOT testing that out though haha.

That would be boring AF tho. First 3-5 secs would be "ok, let's do this" and next 5-20mins would be "omg i'm in sooo much pain right now i won't punch anything let alone get punched" from both sides.
Easy, when the fighters start to slow down, zap them with a remote shock collar. The kind used for training dogs. I do imagine it would be a short fight overall.
The aerobic component needed for fighting would end that super fast. The pain component of OC is separate from its inflammatory effects. Even if someone has their whole face doped up with lidocaine they will have a reflexive eye shutting and their mucus membranes will inflame and their will have reduced respiration volume which would make it impossible to land strikes effectively and eventually result in laying down.
