I find the fish on the wharf are moving away this time of year, u still catch something if ur lucky. Usually I started going for squid and trout for the next 2 months from now

There were heaps squids yesterday, but most of them were still small, released 5 tiny ones😂. I was using GoPro 8 for this video.

Yeah softbait is good, just go before dark or early morning, fish and game put about 1500 trout in there every year around this time.
How long is the soft plastic your using
