Their drummer never played metal before until Joining I Prevail on their Trauma album. Before that he was a church session drummer! He’s progressed so well in this genre

@@cambrowndrums I would only assume the drums were programmed at the time due to them not having a drummer, but on this new album I’m sure it’s him writing all the parts.

Controversial I know but I think it’s a little fast for me. I definitely don’t hate the song or anything though. Favourite bit is definitely the second verse (starting ‘bring it, oh’).
I normally find I dislike (more controversy lol) sudden breakdowns that are super slow aswell so I don’t know why I am opposite for this song. I do really like this songs breakdown to make things weirder

after the DEVASTATING cr0nch of the second verse I was expecting a much heavier drop for the breakdown tbh:( but I appreciate the ol' switcheroo and the rapping fit so well
@@alexgreen4322 Honestly it's been so overdone that I appreciate them moving in a different direction from that. A regular chonky breakdown was the most predictable thing they could've done even tho it wouldn't be bad, but I prefer switching things up!

They just played it for the first time in Perth 5 hours ago, sold out show with Motionless in white, was insane!!!! This song slapped
They are insane! I saw them at Blue Ridge 2021 and actually was lucky enough to get their setlist and I can confirm it was a hell of a time :).
They announced their tour for this album I'm STOKED
They draw some of the biggest and best crowds in metal right now. I was at a festival with at least 50k people on site with 3 bands playing at the same and over 1/3 of the people were at this one I prevail show and I was directly in the middle of three giant mosh pits. To make it even better the festival was in VA there home state so they really brought it. There gonna be there again this year and they say it's gonna be by far there biggest show I can't wait.

Ngl whoever produced and tuned the drums needs an award. The drums alone had me headbanging brains out. Though the chorus doesn't hit as hard as Bow Down, this is still a banger!

Totally agree, Scars was the only song I liked from them, all their songs sounded the same to me. Then they released TRAUMA....and I loved every fucking song on that album, I am sure this next album will be amazing.

Trauma was easily my favourite album of 2019 (and I listen to A LOT of music).
@@paulovx1999 me too! Some don't like the "pop" influence but I thought it really expanded the album in terms of making something that everyone can listen to and appreciate. The heavy mental health influence throughout most of the songs was also incredibly relatable.
Lifelines is still my favourite album from them
So glad to see them growing and getting recognition they deserve..they surely found own sound with Trauma

Hyped for the New album
I didn't really care for the sound of the clean vocalists voice on their other stuff but I thoroughly enjoyed this and it feels like like they're finally really figuring out their sound

Wasn’t a fan of I prevail until I saw them with A Day To Remember in Fairfax, VA a few years ago and I SWEAR the place would’ve burnt down with how INTENSE they played! Definetly great live!
Instead of a typical breakdown they put a rap over a chunky riff and honestly I LOVE THAT THEY ARE STEPPING OUT OF THE TYPICAL METAL GENERE AND GOOD FOR THEM 🙌🙌🙌

i absolutely love this and im glad i prevail took this turn. i love that its heavier than their normal stuff and theyre also rapping more. Ive been trying to find more stuff that mixes very heavy vocals, rapping, and breakdowns into the same music. I love how fast paced this is.

I would aslo like to point out the whole production of this thing. I Prevail's last album, this album, all the latest Falling in Reverse stuff and eventually last blessthefall album was produced by Tyler Smyth - who you may also know from Dangerkids. You can definitely see his handwork here.

I'm glad someone has finally mentioned the production. Trauma was full of studio trickery that gave it such flair. I believe its essential now to stand out in such a flooded market.
