Not everything needs to be always for no life kids with ton of free time, to be enjoyble. Glad community is doing their thing. i think uve got the wrong idea here tbh, back in 2019 vanilla release i made it my mission to not use ANY addons, to have that ultra vanilla experience... but guess what? the game cannot be played now like u played it back then, cannot be done. why? because i found myself reading some quests over and over losing hours trying to find something but due to poor directions or the game purposefully making it extremely hard to find, i found myself looking it up anyway.. this is the difference between now and back then.. because back then we had atleast some guildies or just ppl around that have looked or were looking for the same thing, and it would feel satisfying for them to help you and for u to finally find it, and maybe make a friend along the way, THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ANYMORE. ppl will flat out ignore u, troll u, or tell u to look it up, they dont wanna 'waste' their time helping u with some quest theres plenty of addons for orrr u could just look up. and thats fair, because we all have less time, and time is more valuable than ever.. so running around 2 hours for that 300xp quest? not worth it unless u want to torture urself :) he is literally using the addon so he can ACTUALLY focus on the game and fully enjoy it, and using the voice addon to know whats going within these quests on the go. he isnt using this to 'speedlevel' :) rant over i guess
Going back and playing through classic at lvl 1 always gets me excited for a while. As you articulated and many others have echoed, there is just something special about that vanilla experience. No over-arching world ending scenario, no super powers, no really hint of much just a brand new character with no name or story that is stepping foot into the world with limited weapons or skills to defend yourselves. Yeah you can't go back to 2019 let alone 2004, but hat still doesn't make the experience any memorable.
i am playing "classic fresh" in eu right now as well. and i am having a blast. i can't quite articulate what exactly it is, but classic just hits the sweet spot of mmorpg's for me i guess
They need to create a classic plus. Keep level cap 60 and just keep dropping additional lore, quests, dungeons, and raids. They could even do a $5 raid unlock if it’s a money thing.
Nah wouldnt work the vanilla only fans wouldnt stand for it, they would eventually just complain that its no longer vanilla then they'd go back to the vanilla servers, you cant please them unless you let them play their 20 year old game the way it was originally designed

I’ve recently just started a new character on the relatively fresh Starfall server. Well populated, lots going on and playing with no addons and reading quests text is an absolute blast!
It will crumble within a week from now between people doing zg/aq 20s and ranking it's just not going to happen it never could happen without a actual fresh not to mention as soon as kargoz brand scheme fails or he disappears it will be over.
4:00 update on this: they have mostly repealed or stopped trying to widely police the "phase schedule" (though some guilds are doing their own version of progresssive phasing)
@@CatDad09 when people say 'retail' they're generally just referring to the 4 raid difficulties and laundry list of 'do these or fall behind' chores. It fits for anyone that's touched retail in the past 12 years. (I personally love retail. Sod Wasn't my cup of tea. I did enjoy a go through turtle wow though)

I may or may not have jumped on a TBC server because I just couldn’t force myself through SOD, Cata or retail anymore. I completely understand your point of view right now
the best thing Blizzard could do is to open a new vanilla version that will go into TBC and optionally WOTLK and then close it after some time and start over. I saw for myself that I enjoyed playing the first 30-40 levels best, which is why I liked playing the hardcore version so much because I didn't mind starting over.
I've also came back to classic as of yesterday. I did one heroic raid on retail and realized how crazy things have become. It instantly made me miss the days of being knocked back by Ragnaros and that being one of the only spooky mechanics. Hope to see you in game bud!
I just want tbc.... Id also rather play private server as tbc classic was aids, with gdkp and goldselling. Really spoiled it. Also ps community is a lot frendlier.
Join Deviate delight if u want vanilla no changes wow, join season of discovery if you want a new take on vanilla with lots of new abilities and class balance that feels more like retail
Blizzard is only doing what the community wants. I play on Era and most of my guildies returned during SoD Phase 1 because it was too Retail and that's the version most people loved about SoD. Blizz today couldn't pull of Classic+ and I don't think most of the player base would want to play it anyway.
I can't get into it. Having to make a whole new UI, try to find Addons that work, trying to fix/set up those addons.. Too much for me. They should have a retal UI option

Word. I was hyped until ive seen a pvp server tag. I can spend an entire weekend doing rated bgs or arena but playing with people that will get out of their way to reskill players that are 40 levels below them? Nah ill pass
Classic plus shpulda been using the parts of the world they abandoned. There are many raid entrances that they vould use to make new raids or dungeons. But they didnt. They gave us retail classic......
First off, whats with wow content creators advertising for paid addons which are against the TOS. Secondly I cant wait for these servers to be full of GDKPs its only a matter of time.
Classic fresh with no bots and no gdkp would be awesome. Playing ERA alot last couple of years. ERA is still BiS. Bot reporting has improved tho, getting some feedback now and then in game mail if Blizzard banned one.
I'd love to have a wow classic but with real end game difficulty. Like a real classic + and no what SoD is .. Just a bit of balancing and new content as raids .. but blizzard always overdo everything
Hard pass paying blizzard a monthly sub to access a spurg of the sprurg server where overweight middle age women and men try to gatekeep their self imposed phases while also not adhearing to their own rules. I'll stick with pservers that have + content and less mental patients.

Back in vanilla you had joannas leveling guide which was a pdf file so its not something new but i get your point

classic wow is replayable like every year or 2 . especially after a long break from the game.

Pretty low, but I believe it's climbing. Many are still leveling (myself included) and it's not impossible to find dungeon or quest groups

Saying SoD is retail is just wrong. Any kind of retail player, whether it be pvper, pver or collection player. They would not play SoD.
