Another one Venus should not have lost! Side note, i always enjoyed Marion Bartoli's commentary. She does her homework and the analysis is very technical.

I never understood how Carla was venus nemesis but a target practice to Serena.

It's like Venus could handle Capriati easier

Serena's goes more for depth (by adding margin) than Venus does. This is the matchup that really highlights how different their games are. Serena plays a much safer game against CSN and it pays dividends. Serena pulls the trigger when needed whereas Venus hits harder, flatter, but shorter in the court shots that CSN has no problem with.

I know what you mean, Serena demolishes her. I think it just comes down to Venus making way more unforced errors than Serena, typically. CSN extends the point, that is her strength, and while Venus has an extremely high tennis IQ, she is more likely to make errors in longer rallies than Serena.

Venus movement isn't that good come 2010s, she's not bad but she isn't among the best mover. Her height is a deficit once she reached her 30s because now it makes it harder for her to move and be flexible. Venus serve is also very predictable. It's very fast but she didn't create enough angles with her serve. Which is why despite her serve speed, she hardly makes any aces later on in her career. She also is very keen with the body serve, which I never understand why she love it so much. It is the most predictable uneffective serve in tennis. Also Serena uses a lot more top spin that Venus which produce less errors. Venus hardly ever uses a lot of spin in her shots and she prefers the flat shot. I can understand her perspective because against someone like Navarro, you want to end the point ASAP and hitting it as hard as possible sounds like a great idea. But then again flat shots tends to create a lot of errors. I feel like, Serena used to have very similar games with Venus, but ever since 2010s. Serena changed her game a lot while Venus choose to follow the game plan. Which is a shame. She could have won a lot more GS had she adjust her game.

Haha..Venus has at least 10-20 such kind of defeats. And that too in major tournaments.
