The thing I really enjoyed about the shiny zacian/zamazenta event was that you got the legendary opposite to your game. As a shield player I really liked being able to get a zacian that I didn't have to trade back to someone for dex completion. The fact that it was shiny was a neat bonus too!
Believe it or not, there's one event Pokemon that's rarer than all the rest, that being a one of TWENTY Mew distributed in Japan following the releases of Red and Green.
I appreciate the effort to make previous event exclusive species more accessible of late - like having Meloetta in the Blueberry Academy; restricting them like that was so silly
I do remember actually going to Themepark Hellendoorn at the 10 year anniversary to get a Lugia and Ho-oh, standing in line for the entire day, however there was a guy who traded me his Deoxys. Totally worth it of course
I think it's funny when people say legendaries were more special then cuz they didn't just hand them out cuz ye they've been handing out mons since the very beginning. I took a cartridge to a toys r us to get a legendary once. Or mythical. Can't remember now. It was a gba cart so probably leaf green or emerald

"Kids have it so easy with getting event Pokèmon through the internet"
Me who doesn't have internet on my Nintendo Switch or 3DS: :/
That was me too:( I remember going to my local McDonald’s to use their free WiFi to use the codes
Ah I noticed you said 2022 for shiny box legends in gen 8 but it was 2021 actually. I got that one and remember it.

The first few distributions mentioned were so interesting! First time hearing of those Gen 1 & 2 PKMN distributions

If only I had been so lucky 🥲
My pick for best Gen 1 event is the university Magikarp, for no reason other than how funny it is to imagine a Magikarp getting a degree
I think the shiny zeraora was the best gift because the community was involved
I got Zacian and Zamazenta through code cards

"Pokemon with events don't count"
Why am I here?
Probably to learn about a topic you wouldn't have known about otherwise.
