Raikou is already a saber tooth. You'd have to find a way to make them different enough that they wouldn't get muddled. Dire wolves might be a better choice.

Definitely an ice type. Yes we have Chien-Pao, but he’s more ferret than tiger. I want a true Saber Tooth Tiger. It can be Ice/Rock, but make it super fast and hit hard to make up for its bad typing. And give it Snow Cloak so it can be more evasive in Snowy Weather.

So, when I was a kid, my thought process for Lileep and Cradily's tentacles was that they were like worms. Worms are used for bait, some angler predators have their lures look like a squiggling worm, so a part of how these two hunt is to look like a bunch of worms. The phallic resemblance is likely an unfortunate design consequence...
Kinda reminds me of some squid designs... They just look phallic on default so trying to design a cute squid without entering that territory, you gotta get creactive.

I say this as one well versed in the paleo community there are many specimens with healed injuries on the top of their heads, indicating ritualized combat with the heads that was not to the death. There's also the fact that even in their skeletons there are clear adaptations for it. There is of course, what pachycephalosaurs are named for, their thick heads, which *are* thick enough to absorb a good amount of force. Even if they weren't, animals with the same strategy like rams literally don't care about brain damage. They hurt themselves a little bit even with all those adaptations, just to impress a mate. That and also, unlike other dinosaurs, pachycephalosauridae (and this group only) have their necks attached to the underside of their skulls, like humans. This HELPS to absorb force more directly, you've gotten it mixed up sadly. In tandem with the thickness of the cranium this helps them to more easily bend down their heads and also absorb force than if they just had a regular "neck plugs in at the back side" head (that would crumple their necks). also pachycephalosaurs literally come from marginocephalia, the same group as ceratopsia. These animals are KNOWN for their head weaponry. you don't have to take my word for it, try an actual paleontologist. Watch prehistoric planet: uncovered's episode on it, or watch the skeleton crew's (the paleo yt channel, not the disney show) video on pachycephalosaurus.

Re: Which of Kabuto's eyes are the real ones Both and more. Horseshoe crabs have 9 eyes. Two big ones on top where you'd expect. A pair of tiny ones just behind them. A triplet towards the front. Two on the bottom near the mouth. And their tail is slightly photosensitive as well.

"Pteradactyl" means "wing-finger". Along the same line of thinking, "saur" means "lizard" so 11:46 "pterosaur" means "wing-lizard".
The part about the T-Rex's intelligence reminds me of Will Ferrell in Land of the Lost repeatedly saying they had brains the size of walnuts, and then the T-Rex hunting them leaves a massive walnut outside of the cave they're hiding in.

Also, I'm from San Diego which has its own genus of Fairy Shrimp. And the way they live does kind of line up with the Heat and Rainfall of Hoenn They lay their eggs in the rainy seasons in vernal pools (much like the shallow pools on the east of Fortree city) and can survive the heat (much like groudon's drought ability) to hatch again next time it rains (like when Kyogre has its Drizzle activate) So in a weird way, Anorith being a shrimp makes sense too. The shrimp (at least where I'm from) have adapted to the dry and wetness of the area.
Another popular theory for the rex arms being small is similar but opposite solution for why komodo dragon limbs are so big. Studies show that Rexs were social and also scavengers, and would eat together, and just like komodo dragons they sometimes would bite limbs that weren't the carcass. So, to prevent massive bloodloss, which would lead to death, the arms got smaller and smaller to avoid disarming each other.
For anyone interested, the dinosaur statues in Crystal Palace Park, South London are still there but are a bit worse for wear nowadays however, I did read they are in line for a clean up at some point

Aurorus was already my favourite Fossil Pokemon out of all the fossil Pokemon. It also gave me a much greater appreciation for Ice type Pokemon, seeing that I've always had an Ice type Pokemon from Gen 4 and only noticed it in Gen 6 because of Aurorus. What I hope we get with another US based region is a region variant of the Tyrunt line that is bigger, stronger, and more representative of the fact that the T.Rex specifically is North American (while tyrannosaurs in general could be found everywhere)
Carbon dating isn't used for fossils. Carbon14 only lasts up to about 50,000 years. Rocks are radiometrically dated using methods like Potassium-Argon, Uranium-Lead, and Rubidium-Strontium dating. These isotopes have significantly longer half-lives.
Upper and Lower Egypt weren't about north and south. It was about elevation. Water flows downhill, and the Nile flowed down (from south to north) to Lower Egypt from Upper Egypt, and into the Mediterranean.
I wish there were an Ankylosaurus fossil Pokémon. I know both Groudon and Torterra are partially based on an Ankylosaurus but those are subtle. We need a fossil Pokémon based specifically on it.
I always thought that the Egyptians confused North and south because of the nile river which flows south to north. They may have believed it flowed from top to bottom instead of the other way. Or maybe they were actually onto something and maybe lower Egypt may have a lower elevation to upper Egypt which is why the river flows that way in the firs place lol.

I remember when the Fossils Pokemon of Galar the four mons appeared weird but it’s was based of the real event of Bone Wars mixing up the top and bottom fossils, But I grown and appreciate them in the Anime and Game because of Ash’s Dracovish.
Turtles have one of the most complete, clear, and evident lines of fossils showing how they went from average reptiles o the form we recognize as turtle-like today. I would guess thats why they picked it.
I’ve found a few crinoid and ammonite fossils in the filler rocks used to decorate the outsides of buildings. Makes you wonder where they sourced the rocks from, and how deep they dug to get those rocks.
Belive it or not, I found an ammonite in a sand bar by tripping on it and now he's my pet rock/animal. One time I dropped him, and he chipped, revealing some amethyst! I love him!
The "eep" part of Lileep's name could also be more direct: A common sound effect people make when startled (like, say, by being grabbed up by what you thought was seaweed?) is to shout out "EEP!"
we've seen multi-gen gaps between pokemon of the same line, so I wouldn't totally give up on the idea that they may introduce the "correct" versions of the galar fossil-mon

anomalocaris, the 'unusual shrimp' is such an incredible fossil to see in person. it's the first creature i think of for the cambrian period! it's also pronounced like anomaly. anomalo-caris
In the future, they bring the galar fossil Pokémon back but you have the option to fix them up cause I want to see them as their meant to be selves too! They're by far very interesting.
Regarding the section on the Dino Fossil, you actually missed something kinda HUGE... The Dino Fossil is actually called (in Japanese) the PLESIO Fossil. This means we know what collection of dinosaurs the lower body type is intended to be referencing. This is why it waddles and swims... it was never meant to be a land-dwelling creature. It moves as you would expect a beached Lapras to move.

Wasnt there recent research done on the ceratopsians (triceratops and such) where they now believe they had quills along their hide? Not just their tails but literally porcupine Dinosaurs due tonfound skin impressions?
The way I always remembered it growing up is that the Centrosaurids had all of their horns, which are in the central point of their face, as their greater sort of defense whereas the Chasmosaurids had large enough frills to cover a chasm
You might get this a lot, But it's mostly the line "It went extinct 100 million years ago" is kinda more how much later it survived then Kabutops. It's extremely safe to assume this thing was around before Scream Tail (which I still stick with the 'imagination' theory of SV's plot)

I've lived an hour away from Chicago my whole life but I somehow never went to the Field Museum until a few years ago. Sue really is an amazing sight to see in person. There was also an incredibly well-preserved body of an early human that I cannot for the life of me remember the name of but I remember standing there and staring at it for several minutes, unable to make myself move on. It was a really profound experience.
I'm still only about halfway through the video, but please dont tell me you did a whole video on every fossil Pokémon without mentioning the real world Pokémon Fossil Museum exhibit in Japan. You could have at least shown the Pokémon skeleton models they made.
I'm always excited for the starters, eeveelutions(hopeium at this stage) and fossil Pokemon. Tyrantrum fulfilled a childhood dream for a T-Rex Pokemon.
I used to have a feather duster starfish in my 100 gallon saltwater coral reef tank. It was a beautiful red color and was so fun to watch swim around. I also had an anemone that was very finicky about where it wanted to be placed. I had tried to keep it where it could be seen easily, but it was insistent of rooting itself in the back of the tank where no one would see it. I gave up after two tries as i did not want to stress it out too much and cause it harm.
Fun fossil turtle fact! We have no idea where they come from :3 Turtles kinda just, show up, in the late Permian. We have hypothesized ancestors like Eunotosaurus, but no transitional stages to solidify any relationships, so a they are pretty big on the "paleontology bucket list"

The reason Upper Egypt is Southern Egypt is because of the flow of the Nile. The Sacred River flows north into the the sea.

Carbon dating isn't used for fossils. Carbon14 only lasts up to about 50,000 years. Rocks are radiometrically dated using methods like Potassium-Argon, Uranium-Lead, and Rubidium-Strontium dating. These isotopes have significantly longer half-lives.
Upper and Lower Egypt weren't about north and south. It was about elevation. Water flows downhill, and the Nile flowed down (from south to north) to Lower Egypt from Upper Egypt, and into the Mediterranean.

I always thought that the Egyptians confused North and south because of the nile river which flows south to north. They may have believed it flowed from top to bottom instead of the other way. Or maybe they were actually onto something and maybe lower Egypt may have a lower elevation to upper Egypt which is why the river flows that way in the firs place lol.

I remember when the Fossils Pokemon of Galar the four mons appeared weird but it’s was based of the real event of Bone Wars mixing up the top and bottom fossils, But I grown and appreciate them in the Anime and Game because of Ash’s Dracovish.

Turtles have one of the most complete, clear, and evident lines of fossils showing how they went from average reptiles o the form we recognize as turtle-like today. I would guess thats why they picked it.
I’ve found a few crinoid and ammonite fossils in the filler rocks used to decorate the outsides of buildings. Makes you wonder where they sourced the rocks from, and how deep they dug to get those rocks.
You generally don't need to dig super deep for most fossils. Believe it or not there are fossils just below the surface of many areas.
Belive it or not, I found an ammonite in a sand bar by tripping on it and now he's my pet rock/animal. One time I dropped him, and he chipped, revealing some amethyst! I love him!

Regarding the section on the Dino Fossil, you actually missed something kinda HUGE... The Dino Fossil is actually called (in Japanese) the PLESIO Fossil. This means we know what collection of dinosaurs the lower body type is intended to be referencing. This is why it waddles and swims... it was never meant to be a land-dwelling creature. It moves as you would expect a beached Lapras to move.

The way I always remembered it growing up is that the Centrosaurids had all of their horns, which are in the central point of their face, as their greater sort of defense whereas the Chasmosaurids had large enough frills to cover a chasm
You might get this a lot, But it's mostly the line "It went extinct 100 million years ago" is kinda more how much later it survived then Kabutops. It's extremely safe to assume this thing was around before Scream Tail (which I still stick with the 'imagination' theory of SV's plot)

I've lived an hour away from Chicago my whole life but I somehow never went to the Field Museum until a few years ago. Sue really is an amazing sight to see in person. There was also an incredibly well-preserved body of an early human that I cannot for the life of me remember the name of but I remember standing there and staring at it for several minutes, unable to make myself move on. It was a really profound experience.

I used to have a feather duster starfish in my 100 gallon saltwater coral reef tank. It was a beautiful red color and was so fun to watch swim around. I also had an anemone that was very finicky about where it wanted to be placed. I had tried to keep it where it could be seen easily, but it was insistent of rooting itself in the back of the tank where no one would see it. I gave up after two tries as i did not want to stress it out too much and cause it harm.

Turtles kinda just, show up, in the late Permian. We have hypothesized ancestors like Eunotosaurus, but no transitional stages to solidify any relationships, so a they are pretty big on the "paleontology bucket list"
