Policy of Truth was a grower for me but yes the album is pretty close to perfect. Flood is a genius producer. Highly recommend their follow up “Songs of Faith and Devotion”
. that voice is andy fletchers"Interlude #2 (Crucified)" is the first of two unlisted instrumental interludes that appear on the 1990 Depeche Mode album Violator. It is also commonly referred to simply as "Interlude #2", with "Interlude #1" appearing on Music For The Masses and "Interlude #3" appearing between "Blue Dress" and "Clean" on Violator. The interlude occurs between "Enjoy The Silence" and "Policy Of Truth". The mostly instrumental interlude features a single vocoded vocal by Andrew Fletcher chanting the word "crucified". Fletcher is appropriately credited as "lead singer" for this song.[1]
"Interlude No. 3" is the second of two unlisted instrumental interludes that appear on the 1990 Depeche Mode album Violator. It is the first interlude by Depeche Mode to not feature a subtitle, as is the naming convention set by the preceding "Interlude No. 2 - Crucified" from the same album and "Interlude No. 1 - Mission Impossible" from 1987's Music For The Masses. The interlude occurs between "Blue Dress" and "Clean" and features a string and clarinet duet embellished by reverberated vocal stabs interspersed with washes of ambient noise, producing a contemplative instrumental interlude that serves as a dramatic build-up to the final moments of Violator.
Music For The Masses is absolutely a scary album; Little 15, To Have and to Hold, I Want You Now and Pimpf are so dark compared to NLMDA, Strangelove etc which are SUPER upbeat and 80s. Which just makes the entire album kind of unsettling and disjointed, but it makes for an incredible moodscape.
Great reaction. The track on music for the masses that you found creepy was probably pimpf. Christmas island one of the best sides is also very dark sounding 😮
The musical partnership between Martin Gore and Alan Wilder is what makes this album. DM were better with Alan and I'll die on that hill. Would be great to see you react to Songs of Faith and Devotion, the follow up to Violator
Just found your YT channel. Like it, well partially because I'm a Depeche Mode fan, but I like how you react to the song and still have a live stream while doing it. That is authentic. I'd love to hear you do more DM and I think others would enjoy it too. If you want a darker side of Depeche Mode, the album Black Celebration (1986) would be one to do. If you want a more Rock/Grunge leaning album, then Songs of Faith and Devotion (1993) would be your choice. Those also seem to be in the top 3 Depeche Mode albums, along with Violator in most people's lists.
So cool of Depeche Mode to use Wii Sports Bowling as their album art
The sound bite you use for ‘9’ is a song called Situation by Yazoo which was started by Vince Clarke who coincidentally started DM.
I remember genuinely voting for this album in a community poll and if I recall correctly, the Hulk Hogan album won by a landslide.
the B sides here are great too...dangerous, happiest girl, kaleid, sea of sin, sibeling, memphisto......
Classic DM, love this album so much. I'm so glad that Flood has done this reaction omg!
Best DM album ever.

I got that scary falling feeling as a kid listening to Black Celebration on 101

Repping the Meze Empyreans, love those headphones!
DM
Is a Religion
he needs to react to the cure
TY. May I point out that remasters usually use auto tune correction. That’s why the original versions will always be better.
ALAN WILDER !!!!!
Depeche Mode - “Ultra” album, por favor, saludos desde Argentina!
Songs of Faith and Devotion is even better album, Playing the Angel equally topping this one
