For those wondering what the other other buttons do on a gas station pump: 1. Mute 2. Volume up 3 Volume down 4. Language selection 5. More info (about the ad) 6. Request assistance 7. Brightness up 8. Brightness down The order varies from pump to pump, and the owner may choose to disable any number of them or change what they do (hence why they're not labelled). Most often the owner will disable all of them, or if they feel nice they'll leave the mute button usable.
It would be illegal for food manufacturers to use the word "nut" yet contain no nuts in Europe. America has awful food laws and allows dangerous chemicals and artificial colourings in food.
It is related to the pharmaceutical industry and nearly impossible to avoid. Most people know and try their best to avoid anything we can. It’s SO wrong!
Yeah they do have horrible food laws here, you're right. I'm originally from harrogate, yorkshire in England and i miss it but it seems it's going downhill just as fast as the US and the rest of the world.
I visited the Kellogg plant in the 70s and took a tour. They had a small gauge railroad inside the factory. Standing on an overhead walkway that train went by below. It was pulling huge bins filled with the various colored fruit loops. I dont think they offer those tours anymore due to industrial espionage.
When I was a very small child, maybe 3ish, I was riding home with 3 family members in a tiny pickup truck. Because it was a standard single cab, the 3 adults were sat side-by-side across the bench seat and I was left to sit on the lap of the center passenger. It was dark, but at some point one of the passengers noticed I had tears streaming down my face. They asked why I was crying and I pitifully replied, "that pine tree poked me in the eye!" 😂 I had been trying to sniff the Little Tree air freshener in front of my face and the movement of the truck caused it to swing back and forth with one of the pointed angles poking me right in the eye. I never lived that one down. 🤦🏻♀️😂
One secret about cereals nowadays: many of them are now less healthy than a potatoes chips due to their higher values in sugar and salt. In North America, over 80% of the cereals boxes available in supermarkets have more salt than a majority of the potatoes chips in bags. Potatoes chips usually have around 300mg to 420mg per 50g while the supposedly healthy cereals usually have around 380mg to 520mg of sodium per 50g. As a reminder, an "average" adult shouldn't exceed sodium intakes of around 2000 to 2200mg per day without some good reasons and should drink at least 1 liter of water (not coffee or energy drink or carbonated drinks) per 1000mg of sodium eaten. In a bowl of cereals, you can easily have close to 80g to 100g of cereal (~2 cups or a bit more) meaning that you can have 40% to 50% of your sodium intake just from eating a bowl of cereal in the morning.
16:40 Another little detail is the word "titanium", itself. Most associate the word with strength, but the reality is that Titanium is actually a very weak metal and used as a strengthening agent, like rebar for concrete. So "Titanium" is weak, but "Titanium alloy" indicates strength.
It's not terribly weak, pure titanium is about on par with common everyday steel. It's pretty strong for its density, kind of halfway between aluminum and steel. It's heavier than aluminum, but about as strong as stainless steel. But yeah it's generally alloyed with other metals since there really aren't many applications where you'd need pure elemental titanium. Maybe for a superconductor.

We have those exact same gas pumps here in Quebec, but the configuration on them is completely different. They don't have ads on them, only instruction on how to use the pump. On most of them, the lower right button, before using your card or lifting the pump, enables you to set a limit on the transaction so that it does not uses the maximum amount. Then 7 of the 8 buttons gives you a quick selection on the amount, like 20$, 50$, 100$, etc, or the option to manually input the amount.
I will say this a lot of companies use things to prolong shelf life . I know first hand what happens to some salmon products to do this and add the pink color . And the sad part is it doesn't have to be put on the label.

I've noticed that they've taken those markings off the bags of the air fresheners lately, always had 'em before. Most people probably don't even use them, I guess, so why bother, also, probably cheaper.
Various softdrinks in Australia ditched Artificial Colours & Flavours over the last 6 or so years, and shockingly, for products that claim only the colouring agent is different (if you manage to snag an old and a new product to compare their labels)... the taste can vary drastically between the old and new product. Clearly the colouring agent isn't necessarily tasteless colouring and can be a key component to a products flavour.
I highly doubt that Apple discontinued the flaps on the charger because it was causing damage to the cord!
