Vaseline or petroleum jelly, for the crafter: put a smear of it around the threads of your glue jars, like Mod Podge, so that the lids will come off easily as you use it, nothing worse than a glue jar (bottle, tube, etc.) that won't come off.

20:26 okay, I'll take you up on that and put one here, which I've found extremely useful as a parent.
If you look at most standard baby onesies, you'll notice they don't have sewn up shoulders, but the fabric covering the shoulder area is formed by two flaps of fabric instead. These are meant to be used if you have extra squirmy babies, or in the event of a diaper leak. When that happens, you can simply insert two fingers on either shoulder and pull outward to expand the neck of the onesie, which you can then slide down the baby's body rather than pull it over their head and risk getting their face or hair dirty.

I read the comments just to make sure I wasn't the only person who knew this... because the sizes of pennies and dimes are so close, the ridge helps the blind determine the difference between the two. 5:20 the tab wasnt always like we have today the earlier cans had removable strip which you pulled off with the tab which left a pear shaped hole in the top of can & a lot of ring pulls discarded into waste thankfully beverage company realized this & re designed the can tops to have the tab pivoting & pushing the strip inward

Also, if you're like me and a lot of other guys you have had the painful experience of getting one or more hairs of your moustache caught in the pop top tab. But there's a very easy and quite effective way of stopping that, just remember that after pushing the tab back down against the top of the can simply turn it to point sideways it doesn't matter what side but it's really quite effective and I have no idea why it is, but I'm not going to argue against it.

Petroleum jelly is not a moisturizer. It's a sealant and a lubricant. Melting it into leather allows it to penetrate into the pores of the material and create shine and suppleness, and semi-waterproofs. Same with mineral oil.
However, rubbing petroleum products into the skin does nothing but seals them with a greasy topcoat, clogging pores.

I thought everyone knew why lorries/trucks has there wheels raised when not carrying much weight but then again I come from a long line of petrol heads haha it’s in my dna 🧬 😁😁 and my favourite use for Vaseline is you get a dry cloth and rub it onto your windscreen, rub it until the windscreen becomes clear and the next time it rains u will see that you won’t need your wipers half as much as it acts as a rain repellent. It works perfect and doesn’t make your windscreen greasy or anything like that. There you go people there’s something else you have learned today 😁😁👍👍💯💯❤️❤️

Also, if you have soap scum on your shower door that won't come off - rub vaseline on the glass wipe off any excess and you won't see the soap scum. The vaseline changes the light reflection, hiding the soap scum. You can do the same thing with mineral oil.

Coin ridges were originally made so you can easily differentiate them from one another while still in your pocket, "shaving" was not a factor since many would shave the face of the coin as well. Non-serrated coins were made of expensive metals to like zinc, nickel, copper and even silver.

      @NASA_astronautHammockStepMom 3 роки тому

You know it! . I rinse the tops with dishwashing soap and hot water, then spray w/ 91% alcohol. Rat urine & feces and other debris is everywhere in storage warehouses not to mention them being handled by people. Warehouses are often sprayed with insecticides. People can get mouth & lip sores from dirty drink cans. It even contaminates the contents in the can when pouring into another container.

@@Minnastina every phone can last that long if you don't install OTA updates and don't do processor intensive tasks.
Processors and RAM sticks can easily last more than 10 years. If you are assembling a computer yourself you'll find that these components have very long warranty periods.
The problems with smartphones is that companies practice planned obsolescence. They slow down phones with OTA updates.
And after 3-4 years the processor starts feeling outdated and you can't do heavy tasks anymore.
But for parents and average users, this is not a big deal. And smartphones like PCs, can last pretty long.

1.) In some outlets that are with 2 round holes (European ones) there are 2 metal prong like things, one at top and other at bottom of the socket. My one friend told me that those inconspicuous 2 prongs are for grounding if suddenly very high electrical surge happens.
2.) On dip pens (ones that you dip into ink) the metallic flap (I think it is also called as hood) over hole of nib is there to catch and to ink up nib for longer writing, hence why when flap is taken off, nib doesn't hold ink for long writing or inking the drawing.

For the hook at the tip of a tape measure, you didn't mention that the reason it can slide back and forth, instead of being in a fixed position, is so you can measure both inside and outside dimensions. The distance it moves is exactly the width of the hook. If you look closely at the end of the tape, you will see that the numbers do not go all the way to zero.
If you are measuring an "inside" dimention, such as from the inside corner of a wall, the zero point will be on the outside surface of the hook.
If you are measuring an "outside" dimension, like say the length of a piece of wood, you place the hook over the edge you want to start from, so the zero point is the inside edge of the hook.
The hook moves so that the edge you want to measure from is in the correct "zero position" relative to the numbers on the tape.

There is also _ANOTHER_ little trick about *MOST* Measuring Tapes that I've _NEVER_ heard mentioned, & its for the _EASE_ of Measuring say, wall to wall in a room _WITHOUT_ having to bend Your *TAPE* up against the opposite wall, & all you have to do is simply put the start of the tape touching one wall, then, ( _WITHOUT_ bending Your tape ), Simply back Your Tape _Against_ the other wall, lock the Tape & take note of the _measurement_ ( up to the Tape ) & *ADD* it to the _TAPES MEASUREMENT_ Which *SHOULD* be written on the base of the TAPE itself..

Extra uses for Vaseline. 1). Smear a little bit on the nose of your long haired cat. They will lick it off and have less issues with hair balls.
2). If your pet comes home with a tick smear Vaseline over it. The tick will suffocate and fall off

Yup I also noticed that. I kinda think that some videos, like older ones possibly were recorded with different microphone, ofc if Be Amazed channel has only one narrator, because I remember few videos where same narrator's voice sounded different in each part of same video. If Be Amazed channel has more than one narrator then this explains why the narrator voice varies in multiple videos. But again, this is just my speculations 🤷🏼‍♀️.

I'm sure they made enough money to have hired more voices by now.. I think they should do some with the voices conversing or adding to what they are talking about.... like the coin thing.. that is so the blind can know the different coins easier. The sizes are similar and the ridges help determine quicker... would have been a great side note for a separate voice... come on guys! @be amazed

Funny thing I actually knew about the microphone (before seeing how smart it is!!!) and the thing is the holes on the right side of the charging port (at least for iPhones) is an audio output and so is the line that you see at the top to the right of the microphone circular hole. I have known this for a while, so when I’m trying to compose music on Notation Pad (and just so you know it is not a good app to get), the way I listen when there is a lot of noise around me like in a cafeteria (most common example), I have the sound waves from those two places pointed at me with my hands by covering them and angling my hands so the sound waves bounce and focus more towards me. You all should try it!!! It’s a great feature of sound!!!

Another reason why some coins have ridges while others don't is to allow similar sized coins to be told apart by feel. Cents and dimes are very close in size and so are nickels and quarters. But cents and nickels have smooth edges while dimes and quarters have ridges. Differences in edgings are used in other countries as well to differentiate different denominations.
There is another use for the tabs on the cans. Ever notice how the open cans attract bees or hornets at picnics? It can be bad to pick up a can take a drink and find there was a hornet inside the can. Great way to get stung on the lips or inside the mouth. Reversing the tab reduces the opening sizes and makes it more difficult for them to ender the can. Do practice caution though as the reverse tab is NOT foolproof and they will still sometimes get in.

For the tape measure there is a third use for the metal part. if you notice how the metal at the end Wiggles a little bit, it is not a defect, it helps you get an accurate measurement whether you're pushing the tape measure into something or pulling away from it!
