I was in Vietnam last year for one month. It was dirty and the locals were very ill-mannered. I travelled the entire country by car. I recommend one of the provinces in the Philippines. I’ve visited Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Taiwan, Philippines, Japan and Korea. Most women in Asian countries aren’t any different to the west. It seems that way initially, but once you spend enough time there you will see it’s no different. Western men are willing to sacrifice on looks and social class with Asian women, in the hopes that they will be more humble and modest. But I’ve seen the opposite these days in Asian countries. Even below average women are incredibly arrogant and dismissive. Because there’s a ton of local after them, so their egos are through the roof. They will only seem interested in foreign men because of money. All that most Asian women care about is money, they are looking for a provider not a lover. A woman must first have her financial needs and comfort provided in childhood. Otherwise she will spend the rest of her life in survival mode. She can’t think about love or having a healthy relationship. Many of these girls work everyday and can’t even afford 2 meals a day. They see foreigners coming to their country staying in hotel rooms, and they become very envious and resentful. Although they may try to hide that from you. I recommend European countries, where most of the women had a decent upbringing. A person must have something of value to know how to treat something of value. Hope this helps.
Bud, if you think Vietnam is dirty compared to the Philippines, you haven't traveled much in Vietnam or the Philippines. Most of the Philippines is straight-up slums. Also, Vietnamese have a very low tolerance for weird, old, fat Westerners looking to do the same as they do in Thailand and the Philippines. It's their country, not yours. They dont need you. Vietnam's GDP is growing 7-8% year over year. Compare Manila to Saigon. 🤣
I was having a 2-course dinner for two (beers&coffees included) in the capital of Ukraine, Kiev in 2017 for 5 EUR and the restaurant was right in the centre. Now they have artificially racked up all the prices cos money is flowing in like crazy from abroad because of the war which seems to me like total insanity. But after this covid-show it's been done everywhere, prices shot through the roof for no reason whatsoever.
I am in Hanoi right now. Yes, it is cheap, and the food is delicious, but it's dirty and people are ill-mannered like in China. It's actually very similar to China in many ways. Loud, animals treated like disposable items, big smoking culture. I honestly had a better time in Thailand. Thai people are very polite, very nice and considerate. They have Japan for model, while Vietnam has China for model.
Vietnam is 25 years behind China..... Hanoi used to be part of China.... so many of the people there have Han DNA. The holidays are the same and even the KTV songs have been translated from Chinese into Vietnamese versions....... China is the big dragon.... Vietnam is the little dragon....
I got two side hustles besides my main job rn as a electrician. I run large websites in my country with affiliate marketing, writing about lights, electrical guides and take pictures while im doing it professionally. I wish i was a plumber and a carpenter or a mechanic aswell. People search theese things. I used to make a lot on affiliate, but it has dropped quite a bit. Not really sure why, maybe the cookies are not as effective as before or something. But anyway its an idea.
I've decided for Portugal, close to home (🇸🇪) nice weather, close to Mediterranean. Kind christian people, good fishing all the way up north of Norway. Great wine, legal doobies. Yearly cost of living $3500 including everything but not marinas $300/month
Aren't American retieees pushing up the cost of everything in Portugal? A few months ago I looked up videos about the downsides of Portugal and in the comments on most of them it was locals saying "please don't come here" you are messing up life for the locals. My Portuguese neighbor (i'm in the US) also mentioned that there's big problem with Brazilian crime.
Saw this video months ago, it’s one of many videos that encouraged me to live abroad. I’ve been in Colombia for a month now and I’m loving it. Vietnam is on the list and I’ll be visiting soon, by visiting I mean living there for 3-6 months. 😎🤙🏻 living a life that’s worth living!
Love it. I escaped the high priced US matrix (used to pay $4500/month rent for a box in San Francisco!!) and live in Costa Rica now, got expenses down to under $2,000 a month which is not a very high bar. That includes a child support payment too (you gotta really pull out fellas!!) so can be done for cheaper… (PS: love being a father and being in my daughter’s life, some expenses are worth it…)
Having grown up in Costa Rica and now living in Thailand u can live like a king on 2k usd a month here. Also Costa Rica is insanely gentrified by u wealthy Americans comparing prices to California.
Rent is high because wall street wants returns right away. They want 20% a year, nobody investing in a REIT or construction upstart is happy waiting a decade to get 10%.
I was in vietnam for 3 months. Hanoi and it was best destination i ever was. Its cheap, food is EXTREMELY delicius, once you show some aprecition(learn their language and culture) to locals they very are chill and welcoming. There is junk everywhere, they need to do better with cleaning streets and higiene. There are days when you need to be fully covered up because of extreme polution / Ozone dmg. Comunism there actualy created amazing infrastructure and is actualy falling a lot. nobody cares about comies and ECONOMY is booming! Amazing destination and culture i always think about to coming back or living there.
It’s temporary. China went through that stage 15 years back. I live in both countries, and you need be very careful. The water quality in Vietnam is getting like chinas, and cancer is spreading. Lots of corrupt Chinese companies setting up in Vietnam, and will get much worse. Corruption is rampant, and street food is a major risk of gutter oil in both countries. If you want to eat safely, you have to pay premium for imported from Korea, Australia, etc. easier to do in Vietnam, compared to China (but it’s expensive regardless).
Believe it or not, the locals do a good job sweeping the sidewalks where they live and keeping them clean. The real problem is that dumping and littering is common place. If there is an unused lot, someone is bound to dump garbage there. People don't think twice about throwing plastic cups into the streets. Recycling bins are non-existent. If there are fines for littering and dumping, I'm sure they are rarely enforced. It's a pity that the Vietnamese are not more mindful about environmental issues. Maybe in time that will change.
Bro, if making a 1000$ a month on the internet were "ez", then everyone in the 3rd world would be doing it. There's literally millions of indian and chinese dudes, that are most likely a lot smarter than you, trying to do the same thing. With that said, if we get realistically for a second, you can get a blue collar job that pays boat loads of money and retire a lot earlier than most people. At least for now, with AI coming in, there's going to be a lot of white collar workers that will have to switch to blue collar work, which is going to oversaturate the market and tank wages.
i think if you want this lifestyle you cant really make that happen anymore like that easy. you have to atleast put 5-15k in your own product design and marketing (that you can outsource for example in india) and sell it in your market like North america and EU. and also luck
My favorite part is the nice big gym with absolutely no people in the middle of the day. Here in LA you have to practically bump shoulders or turn sideways just to get around all the people at every single gym.
One of the things is he’s young and not looking to retire there, from what I’ve read, they don’t have a retirement visa in Vietnam and make a “ visa run”🏃♀️ every three months, leave for a day or two and come back and start it all over again. So that kinda puts it on even par with the Philippines as far as overall cost and the Philippines has retirement visas and Thailand does too , Cambodia has a retirement visa program (1 year with renewals every year) . As far as women go, like the host said hundreds of times , especially for us older men, go get in the best possible shape you can before going whatever you choose. Like someone said here , All women, wants a provider, even if she isn’t relying on you, just the ability to provide, just in case ( lost job/wages, having your baby) and if you’re planning to retire or live in a particular country, look and dozens of content creators and look into the place and research. For me after looking at the situation ( for me ) it’s probably the Philippines but because of the visa requirements/ situation in Vietnam.
I'm looking at getting a retirement visa in another country, so I'm looking at different sites, including consulate and embassy sites, to see what the minimum age and wage requirements are. I'll be turning 53 in December. I spent a summer in Colombia in 2017. I may not choose that country because there are better options, even cost-wise. At the most I'd go to a McDonald's or a Burger King once a week. To be honest, even when it came to burgers and fries, the local options were a lot better. I ate mostly Colombian and TexMex there, including a lot of street food. Nowadays we have the internet, so we can make money remotely. Success won't happen overnight or even with the first way you try making money online. The sooner you can start, the sooner you can get free from the rat race. You don't want to wait until you're my age to go somewhere else. Who knows if Social Security will even be around in 10 or 20 years. Best to leave America before turning 35 if you want to start a family.
love your content bro! this guy living in Da Nang is describing it accurately, there's plenty of cities like this in VN. Hoi An is nearby, which was Bourdain's favorite place and also the capital of bespoke clothing that can be made within 24-48 hours for a good price. Name brand fabrics are also available
I went to Vietnam 8 times in 10 years. Fantastic place, people and food. Women love it, men love it, couples love it. Nothing like the Thai experience. I found a new heaven in Tanzania, but I definitely will go back to Vietnam in coming years.
@michaelp9707 Wealthy and happy. Women want you. You can live free, take or drink what you want and then drive home, live like a rockstar. Everything is cheap, expat project wages high, people avoid confrontation culturally and it is a beautiful country (Indian ocean beaches, Zanzibar, Serengetti, Kilimanjaro, the fertile Mbeya region, a nation definitly open for business (you can smell the opportunity, like SE Asia used to feel). Plus, I married a traditional younger woman who is off the scale beautiful (family asked if she is a model). Before that, if I wanted, I could have slept with "10's" daily and still could if I was so inclined. I was in Switzerland and the UK for Covid then came here. The difference was stark. So much easier and free here. The best private boarding schools here are about 4k USD a year, for everything (not the international schools). Your business networks suddenly become a higher level, I know A list local celebrities, heads of national public departments, and people connected to the President. Can't do that quickly as a regular person in the West. The regular problems of Africa exist, but I love living outside the West. The biggest plus is the mentality and attitude of women towards men, when compared to the West. I do miss Vietnam though.

$1000/month is what I pay to live in Missouri. I own my house, my farm, and I'm debt free. Food, utilities, insurance, taxes, all that is about $13-14k a year, all told. I have a farmer grow crops on my land and my share of the profits is about $13k/year. My money I earn from work is pure profit, and I'm working on getting a remote job now that'll double my income with no more work than I'm already doing. I'm 41. You can get here, in the US. Cut costs, save, buy dividend stocks.
No doubt, you're right....my buddy has his condo paid off and no debt living in Florida. He has about 1.5 mill saved, yet he wants to live in Thailand because it's cheap.....crazy
Looks like Da Nang is the next place to be ruined by foreigners and clown influencers moving there and telling everyone how amazing and cheap everything is. In less than a couple years the prices with be 4x what they are now and the place will be unrecognizable. Videos like the one this guy made completely ruined Bali in a span of 2 years.
Good video. Just FYI ...... Thailand is NOT played out as you claimed. The videos you have been watching about the SexPats in Pattaya is NOT Thailand. Such videos represent literally 1% of reality over there. Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Philippines all have their virtues (Geographic Arbitrage Opportunity) but they also have their seedy areas. Keep up the good work.
Another point: Infrastructure. It is VERY important that the country you go to have adequate structural infrastructure and medical infrastructure. It is no joke when a Typhoon rolls thru your area. Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines have very good infrastructure in their developed areas. Even the Philippines has a Global top 10 Hospital (St Lukes). You will pay thru the nose but you will be alive.
Add $150 per month for electricity. Air con. Not everyone likes perpetual sun and heat humidity. If you like winter or burn in Sun, the sun is always directly overhead. Always 95°F It is never cool. Ever. No seasons. Rainy season and not so rainy season. You will need to run Air con constantly if you dislike heat. These guys who say "heat not too bad I use fans alone" you will roast alive and melt. Add +150 more per month just for electricity to run your a/c units.
I lived SEA. 2:35 Moto. Traffic in Vietnam is legendary, chaotic, and dangerous. If you are over 50 yo you WILL get hit and break bones. Too dangerous. Get a small car. Motorbikes are for the young guys.
I fell on this channel randomly a few months ago and must say I like it. This dude tells it like it is and that's refreshing even for a 61 year old fart like me.
Great video review about Da Nang Vietnam--looks like a great place to visit & retire to. I also really like you demonstrating one method for making money online using AI for T-shirt designs. Many of those designs looked cool & I could see myself wearing them. I think not knowing the "how to" of money making online holds a lot of people back from making the move overseas, especially when they don't think they have any marketable skills. I started my investment hobby about 2 years ago (high yield dividend stocks) and added to that stock options trading during the last 11 months and now make enough from that to live overseas. Now I just need to get my health back to normal & make a long introductory trip (6+ months) to the Philippines and possibly other SEA countries before making a permanent move to SEA.
Just got back from Da Nang. By far the nicest city in Vietnam. Not too busy. Not a party town though. Very nice beach. Good food. Safe to ride a motor cycle. Nothing like Ho Chi Min or Hanoi. Also the Airport is like 25 minutes to the beach.
Thanks so much bro for all your awesome videos... i am so excited to plan. I quit drinking smoking weed and cigarettes, and i am now in the gym and working all i can. I must get away from the USA

I’m in Danang now and my place is absolutely insanely nice for $600 per month. Plus I took my date to a nice sit down restaurant for lunch today. I moved to Vietnam two months ago. I want to move to Da Nang to live. It’s an expensive city though. Compared to other parts of the country. I pay $400 AUD per month in a 6th floor serviced apartment with city views in Binh Duong province. Best country on earth. White dudes are gods here.
Reminds me of the prices in Rio de Janiero years ago. They had a local beer that tasted better than Bud Light for $2 per six pack. A 4-5 course meal in a fancy restaurant would only cost $20.
dude, I just went, it's epic. The attitude of the girls is bad some of the time, but man beautiful beach, taxis, wifi, has all you need. My favourite thing is all the hotels along the beach, which essentially double as coworking spaces.
Thank you for sharing these foreign cities where we can live very well with little money. I'm watching them with the idea of where to retire. Meanwhile, I am looking into making money online, at least some money, it always feels better to have some money coming in.
You also need to factor in the cost of keeping your business U.S based while residing elsewhere into your costs. This lifestyle only works if you're making U.S currency to offset cost of living in another country
And that's the way to go ... if you're smart. Living inVietnam for 6 years, created an offshore business in Dubai (total cost 7000usd), for residency and bank account in UAE... Zero Tax... My money made on Internet goes to UAE, I wire what I spend monthly to my vietnamese GF bank account here, and live using that cash to avoid unnecessary paynents wuth my UAE card here in Vietnam
Getting a cheap motorbike is easy in Vietnam. You can pick one up for a little as a few hundred dollars. You can buy a new one for $1000. However, if you do buy a used bike be careful not to buy one that's stolen. Also, there are many cheap Chinese knockoffs that you should stay away from (the "Honda Win" comes to mind). These bikes are not only unreliable, they can be very expensive to repair because replacement parts are hard to find.
It is unfortunately very hard to get a long term residence permit in Vietnam. That is part of why it is so inexpensive. You also have to factor in political risk since Vietnam is nominally still communist. The current Vietnamese government is pretty solid overall, but the lesson to take away from China post-2012 is that the centralized and opaque single party structure in nominally communist countries centralizes risk. All it takes is the ascension of an incompetent leader or a true believer ideologue ike Xi Jinping for political conditions to rapidly get worse. Also factor in the increasing pollution levels in Vietnamese cities due to heavy manufacturing moving there from China. I think the Philippines, Thailand (less than 6 months per year to avoid the new large capital transfer tax), or Polynesia are better places to live long term, though Vietnan is worth a tourist visit.
vietnam is clean .... between 10pm and 5am , after the streetcleaners did their job till the first shops open. the rest of the time its trash and noise everywhere
It’s true I don’t even eat local food here and spend like $15 a day max some days less. If you eat local food you can probably get by on $5 a day. Thailand is still cheap, just don’t live in Phuket and you’re fine.
Only difference between Legion of Men and more traditional Men is he's a city boi. A country boy, although still dealing with the delusion of wo0omen, lives way differently. It's easier out here. My mortgage on 1 acre, full house Generac, city AND / OR well water...less than $500. 50 mins from Raleigh. My only issue with Legion is he's just looking for that kushy city life. Probably can't hunt, fish, or forage.
DaNang isn’t what it was, 5 years ago. It’s growing very fast! Way more Russians since the War and Indians have taken over from the Chinese. There’s always been a ton of Koreans though I wish UA-camrs would stop promoting all these hidden spots The more I hear of DaNang Vietnam the more I’m staying away. It peaked before the pandemic.
Google has been playing around with their algorithm which could be the recent bad issue that you are experiencing.
I was born in DaNang. This was a fun video for me
I've decided for Portugal, close to home (🇸🇪) nice weather, close to Mediterranean.

@@eagwrevbrew43so Thailand is cheaper than Costa Rica?
@@bigbrother4ever most definitely. And Thais share a very similar Pura vida mindset.
You're right I come from the school of thought that says if it was that easy everyone would be doing it.
i think if you want this lifestyle you cant really make that happen anymore like that easy. you have to atleast put 5-15k in your own product design and marketing (that you can outsource for example in india) and sell it in your market like North america and EU. and also luck
I absolutely love that veggies/fruit market
I have lived in Da Nang since early March of this year and I have no plans to ever return to England. Vietnam is an absolutely fantastic country.
How do you get a visa to live there?
DaNang is paradise, can't wait to go back one day. You can also take a bus 1hour to Hué, which is also very interesting.
Don't forget Hoi An 😊

I was thinking of Thailand for retirement to save money but this is a game changer!

I went to Vietnam 8 times in 10 years. Fantastic place, people and food. Women love it, men love it, couples love it. Nothing like the Thai experience. I found a new heaven in Tanzania, but I definitely will go back to Vietnam in coming years.
Why is Tanzania Heaven?

Looks like Da Nang is the next place to be ruined by foreigners and clown influencers moving there and telling everyone how amazing and cheap everything is.

Its a lot cheaper to make your own food with those prices on buying food.
