I remember this awsome oldsmobile, diesel, they sound like huge locomotive awsome sound,
I bought a car just like this from my Grandma, Mine had the white top though. I still miss this car.
BEAUTIFUL CAR !!! THE WOOD GRAIN LOOKS JUST LIKE THE 1990 CADILLAC FLEETWOOD MY PARENTS HAD !!!
IKR 🙋🏽♂️ Have Da Same ☝🏽🤞🏽✌🏽
MY PARENTS ALSO HAD AN ‘83 DELTA 88 BROUGHAM …BEAUTIFUL CAR, AS WELL !!!
I have always really liked these 98s
I had a Chevrolet Silverado and a cutless wagon diesel..... few problems, enjoyed them very much
I am surprised you had a diesel Cutlass with no problems.
I love these!
I had one that wasn’t a diesel, and I loved it.
-so smooth, quiet, comfy!
Sadly, wife with early onset Alzheimer’s got rid of it.
I’d die for this diesel.
Patrick Flohe I also had one that wasn’t a diesel.
I wish they still made that car with a gasoline engine! I had a diesel and it was a great ride. Smooooothe!
I knew someone who had a diesel Buick Electra from about the same year. That car went over 200K miles and finally blew a head gasket. Diesel fuel is cleaner today than what it was back in '84. You almost never hear of water in diesel anymore. One problem in '84.
@Collen Flarity Ah yes because I some additive to my diesel fuel in my GMC Duramax truck. This 80's era of GM diesel's also didn't have a fuel/water separation method. One reason people had issues with them.
BEAUTY!!!!!!!!!
Love the color!!! My dad had a 83 and I loved that car. Sad day when he traded it for a Cadillac 😕
My Aunt had an 1984 with the gas engine. In 1987, my Uncle 'upgraded' her to a Cadillac! Oh, she wanted her 98 back! Sad day when the Olds beats the Caddy.
beautiful car!! Rare... I collect these and have 4 of them... To die for!!
My Dad had a 1983 back in the day. Are any of yours diesels? I would want to LS swap it ASAP.
@@seanthompson8071 I only buy Diesel ones. All 4 of mine are 5.7 diesel...
DEFINITELY!
Looks like it has the later DX block, too.
The first car I owned in 1978 was a 1972 Olds 98 two-door coupe silver and black.
Great car. So smooth riding and quiet. It was somewhat underpowered with the 307 cubic inch engine, but good on fuel. If I set the cruise at about 114 km. per hour, (70 MPH) I would get 31 to 32 miles per gallon on the highway.
Beautiful Olds! I have the Custom Cruiser with the 307. Same color as this one! With 68000 miles on it! Great cars!
WOW!!! A dream car of mine! Stunning car and amazing condition!
My family had an '84 Buick this color..always thought it was beautiful..wouldn't have bought a GM diesel on a dare, though.
I love the car. I'd want gasoline engine instead tho. Didn't realize it was diesel until mentioned at end of video. Oh well...rest car is Beautiful! My mother had a triple black 1979 Oldsmobile 98 Regency, 350 V8. In 1984. I loved it. Drove so good. Lady next door had a white, with burgundy interior, 1984 model, like this. Wish I had one of each.
I still have my white one. And if you still have yours, hold onto it for dear life!
❤ what a great way to ride, unfortunately the front wheel drive ninety eight didn't quite measure up to original chassis and olds engine.😅😊
I used own one just like it exactly. With the 5.7l Diesel in it. Mine had the moon roof, and all the options. Actually, I even owned 2 of them. I owned a '78 98 Diesel Regency that was loaded too. Both were 4 doors. There's a lot that you have check out IF you buy one of these Diesels. I used to do nothing but work on the engines, when I had mine. It would be too long of a list for me to go into the issues here.
You'll need to become familiar with Diesel engines, and problems associated with this engine for sure. Or find a diesel mechanic who is familiar with this particular engine; because, a lot of the newer diesel mechanics don't know what their doing on this engine. They only are used to working on the Duramax, 6.5 Diesel, or other major makers etc. The older mechanics understood these engines (the 5.7L 350 V8 Olds); however they are long gone! Retired, left the field.
And, you'll always be worried about Head-Gaskets blowing. Because, of the weak GM factory head bolts, overheating, failed Fel-Pro gaskets, and other issues. I know, I did 3 diesel head jobs myself on that engine. It's a lot of hard work!
There are little things you don't do with those, that people think you can do with gasoline engines. Which is not so.
At any rate, be prepared, to begin a Hobby If You Buy One.
I watched the entire video, waiting for a start up of the diesel. Disappointed.
This car was not started in the video, to be clear with you guys! If you would like to hear it run, let us know by emailing sales@uniqueclassiccars.com .

Damn thats a sweet ride😮
I had 1981 Delta 88 Royale Brougham, 307V8The one shown has 350C a/t
This used to be our car , exact model 1984
Beautiful
Never understood why GM didn't have GM Diesel whip up a line of diesel engines for their passenger cars. They would have sold like hotcakes.
Do the opera lights work??
Vilma had the same car!
Why don't they make cars like these anymore?
A diesel? I didn’t know any of those were still running!
Well this one was never started, 🤣
Do you still have this one?
Is this vehicle still available.
I suppose she’s long gone by now…..
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! Not the Diesel!!!!!!!!!
Handled well- last large GM with a frame (vs. unibody). Not a heap, but came with a 302 c.i.- dog. Oh! it's a diesel. One cold item. Terrible.
307CI
Had an 81
Diesel no thanks
