That’s me too! I often get nervous even then. It helps me look at the needle or at least the doctor or nurse who’s administering the shot, and inform them I am a bit nervous and that it helps me to count to three, so I know when they can inject it. It helps a lot. 💕 I’m hoping that I can also learn to look away from the needle.

I understand how they feel about getting shots and I used to be like them, until something changed in my life that took place in November of 2013 and I found out that I had diabetes!!! These kids should be lucky that they are not like me... because I have to give myself a shot 3 times a day in my stomach and I have to prick a finger 2 times a day for my blood glucose meter!!! This might be hard to believe... but I want to help kids, teens and even adults that is scared of needles by comforting them as they get it!!! The boy was a true camper and took the shot... but seeing the girl crying before, during and after the shot is the kind of ones that I truly want to help!!!

Oh for sure, when I was younger than them I would have melt downs DAYS before my appointment and my dad would have to cover my eyes I’m in my 20’s and I just can’t look when I get vaccinated or when they put the needle in for blood daw

It actually doesn’t hurt that bad. I got the two Covid shots and the booster. Only for the booster it hurt for 1-2 days after that it was fine.

I was 27 when i got mine. I've always been scared of needles, so looked away when mine were done. Like Kian, because i didn't look at the needle i didn't feel much, and I'll be honest, i was petrified, and I'm an adult. He (both of them tbh) were very brave kids. Cheers from the UK

Please, by all means, try to refrain from showing your kids crying. I would not like a camera in my face if I was getting a shot. If your kids are okay with it, then it’s fine. But ask first. Also, I’m proud of your son! He was so brave with not crying and he tried to make his sister feel better!

I wasn’t nervous when I got both my shots. I don’t usually flinch when it comes to needles. I’m pretty brave. I was not brave when I was younger though because I cried a lot. But now since I’m 20 years old I don’t get as emotional.

I handle one of my shots at Walmart it was on my left shoulder and my hand was a fist, and then I close my eyes and my mouth was shut tightly, and I didn’t even cry not a single dot of a tear came out of my eye I was so brave, but for my little brother, that was a no no for him, he would cry he yells at the doctor

I remembered crying and possibly screaming over needles when I was so young lasts till I was 10 when I stopped crying over them but really painful that I remembered getting my flu shot on the chest then on the arm one time and then one of the other shot on the leg pretty painful too and also crying over eye drops when I was so young had to hold to my mom because it stung so I understand why kids do it I used to do it but the trick is not to look at the needle mainly had to held onto my mom so that I could calm down and plus I have autism and sometimes with that disability couldn’t help it

I have a tip for needles! If you look at the needle it will hurt more. and if you just get it done really quick you will know what it will be like when you get your second vaccine or booster etc etc. Hope these tips help!!
