Not really sure how many among my subscribers are familiar with this animated series...but if you don't know Avatar: the Last Airbender, 1) under what rock have you been living all this time? and 2) I would seriously recommend it to anyone. It's not even remotely a cartoon for children only, and is made of three seasons of amazing storytelling and character development that could outshine lots of live-action tv shows.
In the midst of all the awesomeness, this fellow here is the very best thing about the show in my opinion, and one of my favourite characters in the history of beloved characters. How could anyone not love the OG Redemption Arc Boy™? A video about him had to come sooner or later; I was just waiting for the right song...and when I found one that actually repeats the word "fire" 36 times (I may have counted) how could I resist really? xD

Someday I need to come back and write a full essay on why this Zuko tribute is AMAZING. Right away you blend the story with the lyrics flawlessly. "Almost thought we'd made it home." Zuko had thought he'd made it home, but it didn't feel that way. 0:18 "dry your tears" is beautiful. 0:44 "You're ashamed of what you've done" is SO Zuko! You can feel his pain here. And of course how could "crying cuz your father's wrong" NOT fit Zuko?! Honestly I just want to highlight every lyric of this, because your parallels are stunning and so deep, but I'll finish with 2:05 "crying cuz your father's gone" You showed Iroh! This is too beautiful! I could compliment this forever. Every *second* is *GOLD*! And I mean it. This is so complex, and there's so much depth. This is on par with the best fan edits on all of UA-cam! You have huge talent.
Believe me, this comment is already GOALS to receive! It's hard to explain how gratifying it is when you see all the thought you put behind lyric matching (and I tend to lose a lot of time thinking about it whenever I edit, lol) truly reaching someone who watches the final product. It makes me so giddy that you noticed all those little details! (And especially that nod to Iroh as Zuko's true father figure in all the ways that counted, because that was totally my intent and I think it's a relationship that a Zuko video cannot possibly overlook.)

Gosh i just finished the whole 3 seasons and wow! it was wonderful! i really love the zuko character! he is complex and yes he sometimes make the wrong choices... but he does have reasons for his confusing actions and after all he actually finds the answer!!

This always has been one of my favourite songs ever and when I saw your video long ago my jaw dropped. Because it was SO fitting to baby Zuko. I think I never commented on this, but this is a real masterpiece ❤️

Charlotte Torres I totally love Iroh too and his amazing tidbits of wisdom - and, as crazy as it may seem, Azula as well. She is a total b*tch but also very complex and sassy - reminds me a bit of someone we cannot hate no matter what from another fandom, actually...^^

irydionlover93 Asides from his undeniable wisdom Iroh's relationship with Zuko was one of my favorite aspects of his character as well. From the beginning you can just tell that he really loves his nephew and sees good in him. Not to mention that Iroh is very funny too!
Oh Azula is definitely one of my favorite characters (after my favorite blazing duo :3), she's just so clever and sassy with an extra dose of badass! Oh I think I have a good idea who you're referring to X) Is it perhaps our troublesome Clarence? In general when it comes to characters the complex ones, the antiheroes and the comic reliefs are the object of my favoritism, which puts Sokka as one of my faves as well, he's hysterical and doesn't need a bending power to show how awesome he is. Aang of course is also one of my favorites, wise beyond his years, holds a deep spirituality and keeps loyal to his roots and teachings. (hence not wanting to kill Ozai, who is voiced by Luke!!)
Yess it's amazing that we have so many fandoms in common! I took a look in your channel and saw Lord of the rings and Final Fantasy somewhere XD One is my main fandom and the other brings me a surge of nostalgia. :") I found my double!! ^_^ I hope you can make more vids soon, especially with fandoms like this one that seem to be forgotten, LOK might come nice in a mix between the old gang and the new one. Charlotte Torres oh, I adore their relationship as well! Toph was totally right to say Zuko was very lucky to have Iroh. He was his true father, as Zuko became like a son to him, and that's just touching in the extreme because they mend each other and are both the better for it

Oh the scene when Toph talks to Zuko about Iroh is one my favorite moments of them, even if both of them are not there. It’s awesome that we share love for troubled/complex characters, they just offer so much more to think about and love too! ^^
About LOK , I haven’t finished the seasons yet but I do agree about making Aang seem like a bad father. If anyone from the gaang was to be portrayed that way Aang was the last one I expected to fall there! Not sure what was the creator’s purpose with that. In general I’m enjoying LOK very much for now, but the new gang doesn’t emit the feelings that the old one gave me, maybe it’s because of the lack of characterization from the other members (ATLA gave very rich backstories to every character) but oh well, at least we have something that retains some vestiges from the original (and always best) series.
Oh but I found those videos very nice! There’s no need to be embarrassed, though I get ashamed from my fics with good reason lol When one is new in a certain area you start from somewhere and then get better and better. Though I still found those old ones to be very nicely done and was absolutely psyched as they represent two of my much beloved fandoms!^^ Erasing them would be like erasing a good part of your progress and creativity. Oh I trust that you’ll do great with whatever you commit yourself of doing, I hope you can give life to those videos you were planning to do, especially when they have to do with LOTR! Very curious about who are your favorite characters. :3 Hahaha well some things never change do they? But meh, chatting with you is always great. ^^

So where are you with LoK? I hope I haven't inadvertedly spoiled anything for you D: I too caught up with the seasons not too long ago, it was about time, I figured ^^ I really tried to put myself in the mindset of avoiding comparing the two shows, as they are very different despite exploring the same universe, but I have to agree with you on the new gang not giving me the same vibes as the old one...I just, I don't know, I appreciated that they focused a lot on Korra and made her journey a very complicated, not predictable and heart-rending one, but that way I felt they never scratched much more than the surface with Mako, Bolin or Asami - especially Bolin I think. I found Tenzin and Lin got more character exploration than the other members of the team, and I ended up liking them and being interested in them far more than the youngsters ^^
Aww, you are really too nice ^_^ but it's true, I guess they show how much I learned since I began this hobby, so I think they'll stay where they are (and I'm kind of attached to them even if they're terrible and I know it xD). This is such a fantastic tribute to Zuko, definitely one of my favourites. You did such a brilliant job displaying Zuko's character development, layering it with some of the shows most iconic quotes. ive seen watching this on loop wow its just so good??? first of all song choice is perfect its just so appropriate. and you can TELL the thought that was put into the clip placement its just ahh *chefs kiss* 10/10. id list specific moments i liked but honestly i dont think i can narrow it down fron "the whole thing"

laurenmcquilty this series IS epic! I recently finally finished watching its sequel, Legend of Korra (which tells the story of the next incarnation of the Avatar after Aang), and it made me so nostalgic for the old characters, they are still the best to me

HA HA He is SO good as the Joker there is this one line he did in one of the cartoons which is similar to a star wars line the joker was dressed up as a dentist and right before he tried blowing up the building he goes "may the floss be with you" ha!! NO WAY!!! that is so cool he also does Arthur and George's voices man he is GOOD!!

I like how you put the lines of Zuko talking about his nation and generational truth/belives they had being a lie,showing that his fight is not only personal,but about the future of the empire,its people and the generation as a whole.

It's super ironic since I rewatched the series (for the fourth time, dear God) just last week (during school shhh) and this is like the third? fourth? video that's popped up in my sub box about it xD
SunnyVids aww, well, at least it means there are still people vidding ATLA! :) I was in a huge nostalgic mode (hence this video) bc I finally finished watching LoK recently and, while I liked it (and some arcs in particular), the Krew wasn't as compelling overall as the old Gaang to me, and I ended up missing them lots! Also I've finally downloaded the English eps and I too have now an excuse to watch it all over again with the original voices :3 (whenever I watched it in Italian before I was always unsettled by the fact that Zuko's voice is the same as Arthur Pendragon's...xD)

As a side comment, I notice many of the audio voiceovers are muffled. I think you’re using audio gain in the video program itself and that’s what’s causing it. To fix this, get a program like audacity (it’s free) and amplify-edit the audio individually with clipping so it doesn’t overpower and make the static sound. Then re-save and add the sound clip back into the video editor.

I actually know Audacity, just never really had the time to experiment with it much (and sometimes I confess I'm just tired of fixing details in edits, so often voiceovers get the short end of the stick there 😅), but I'll definitely try looking into it more! 5/10 Avatar: The Last Airbender, I analyzed that Aang did not dominate the 4 elements, at least they are known as dominating Water 🌊, Earth ⛰️ and Fire🔥, besides the only thing I would have wanted in this series that the Fire Lord and Azula had been eliminated to be Better without they.

LoK probably has the better villains, but ATLA's supporting cast (and Zuko most of all ♥) felt a lot more memorable to me than LoK's (where I felt way more attached to the older gen like Lin and Tenzin than the youngsters xD).
For a direct ATLA sequel like you say, at least there are the comics -- and they've focused a lot on our favourite Fire Lord so far :)
