This is a sign for anyone that wants to ride it but is nervous of the unknown. DO IT. when i came off the ride i was almost in tears with how beautiful it was. you don’t feel the drops in your stomach at all. the ride is so seamless. i can’t believe i almost talked myself out of riding it. DO IT. don’t be scared, you’re stronger than you think.
@scoldedegg • 11 years ago The ride is really beautiful and very well done. It's more akin to soarin than a Rollercoaster if that helps. If you are concerned about being claustrophobic try the test seat first.
@@shannonb3351 I’m not worried about claustrophobia but this is making me feel better. Are you SURE that you don’t feel the drops. Because I do not mind soarin
Definitely worth going on. Don't fear the warnings they give you while waiting in line about fear of heights. This ride is the most amazing ride I've ever been on. Best ride at Disney World
This is a perfect POV. I am a parapalegic that now has also had open heart surgery. It is very hard to know what I can and can't ride. I have to look at if I can transfer and now if my heart can handle the stress too. When I first was injured I didnt have the heart problem. I wanted to see what I could Handle so I rode Space in EPCOT. I have been on it before I was injured and it wasn't anything that was a big deal to me then. Afterward though is a completely different story. Without the ability to use my legs and tihhten up my muscles in them, there was no way to push ghe blood out of them. Needless to say, it felt like my (very health) heart at the time was pumping dry and felt like it was about to beat out of my chest! It was the scariest thing I ever experienced and I had to do everything I could to breath and slow down my heart rate. I was on the verge of passing out and fought tooth and nail to stay conscious. After that I knew I had massive limits on things that I previously thought weren't a big deal. I was able to ride The Mummy (at Universal) with no problem though, but I needed help transferring. Dinosour was ok too, but I constantly had to be aware of my legs that they didn't fall out of the ride. So, now with my heart failure, I need to actually see what the ride looks like before I ride it. These types of videos are such a big help to me and I want to thank you for posting it. I may be able to transfer into this Flight ride with a little help and it would definitly lock my legs in nice and tight (Harry Potter makes my legs seem like they are going to break at the knees and I have to try to hold them as much as I can). But with the visuals and rapid drops, I'm not sure how my heart (through adrenaline) could handle it. There isn't continual or massive G's in the ride so my blood isn't a worry. But anyway, I'm sorry I rambled but again, I wanted to thank you for this great POV, it helped more than you can possibly know!
It seemed to me that my Banshee had an affinity for swooping under things. Perhaps as long as you are warned of all these things you will manage. Flight of Passage, Soarin’ and Seven Dwarves Mine Trine were the only thrilling rides I chose to ride during my March trip.
My should had finished healing from a disclocation earlier in the year 2017 when me and my family went to disney so it was helpful to see before we went how some of the new ride vechiles operated. This was a breeze for my shoulder and did not aggreviate it at all for me.
this is Mandy, I am blind and have never rode this ride. Can you please tell me what it is like? I can see light, dark, and shadows. No movement though or colors. Would I be able to feel anything? or see any lights of some kind? I can only see bright lights and if they're up close. 5:10
People who haven't ridden this: The coolest part to me is that in between your thighs, you can feel the banshee breathing. It pulses and feels like breathing under you, and you can hear and feel deep intakes of breaths when it prepares itself to swoop. Other feelings like slight vibration that feels like it's scraping along the ground when it takes off, and pumping up and down to mimic its wings pumping to go straight up. And the wind and water in your face!
This ride was the single greatest experience of my life. ...Okay, second, behind my wedding :P But seriously, I'm surprised at how much vertical movement there is to the link chairs. It certainly explains the "drop" feelings when you soar into a dive. Thank you for sharing, this satisfies my curiosity as to how the ride works!
Thanks for the POV! Went on it a few days ago (it was breath taking) and the door appearing in front of me in the end had my mind blown, it looked like we never left the room. Now I know it was an amazing trick of lighting. No other article answered this question for me until this vid. Once again thank you so much for this!
That door was pretty amazing... I agree. One moment you feel like you're sitting right in front of a wall, the next moment you're teleported out, only for the wall to suddenly appear again. It's always interesting to get these "spoilers" on how it's done!
Im so confused now how the ride actually works- I assumed each individual seat moved on its own but this makes it look like the whole room moves. I noticed when I rode it that its multiple chambers all watch the same screen (Part of why the line is so long) like Soarin but I didnt think the whole thing moved. Id love to see how this all works!
It's essentially both of those things. Each seat has an independent motion base under it (think an incredibly minimized version of the Star Tours sim's tech). Each row of seats is mounted to a platform that has vertical motion (the dropping and rising that you're seeing here). Both of those aspects combined, along with the 4K 3D projections gives you the illusion that you encounter in the ride.
I think there's two groups in different Chambers looking at the same screen. And another on the other side. I think that's how it works. I went through training on the ride, but still couldn't fully understand it. My instructor was bad at teaching and always took long breaks. All the staff on Flight of Passage were really rude to me. When I said good morning, they would just ignore me. They were all empty shells. They would either blankly stare at their cellphones in the break room or have geek talk about theme parks.
From what I understand (Very rudimentary understanding based solely off of leaked floorplans and behind the scenes photos), There's three levels, with a few groups on each floor. So yeah there are definitely multiple groups of people viewing the same screen.
Rode this in September 2019 & was blown away this ride is so cool such an amazing experience, waited almost 2 hours but definitely worth it, it’s a must I couldn’t stop talking about.
You shouldnt be scared. I felt the mist from the ponds splash on me. Riding the banshees we’re definitely worth the wait. Especially when we went straight down. The most free I’ve been that whole day at AK. Best ride!
or just think this is another dumb simulator ride. Out of all the 3d simulator rides I've been on this one was awesome! And no I didn't get fast pass. They filled up too quickly. But the 2 hour wait was so worth it. The queue line design is incredible. It gets better as you get closer to the ride's preshow and the ride itself was just amazing! With this kind of movie with tons of cgi there's really no other way you can do this kind fast paced ride with practical effects. It's like Soaring on steroids.
Just got on this ride today. IT WAS AWESOME!!! Made you really feel like you were actually there. This ride is way better than a roller coaster to me. I initially didn’t wanna go to Disney because I thought it would be babyish, but they have a lot of cool stuff there. I’m going back to Disney World again for sure!!
It's funny, when I was in Disney a couple months ago, we got off this ride and as we were walking down the steps after the ride everyone started chanting "SIVAKO!!!!!" It brought me happiness and I started chanting along with them
in all my 62 years i have never enjoyed a ride so much, ok so i did sit with a pilot on landing from jersey to gatwick once, but this was equally thrilling. its not scary, it doesnt jolt its actually very gentle, you just have to let your imagination go and feel the banshee breathing between your legs and trust your avatar!!!! it really is the best ride disney has to offer
My first time! Worth getting up at 5:15 AM to be close to the front of the line at the 7AM opening. The combination of 3D immersive video and flight simulator coordination is absolutely amazing! Definitely the best ride experience at WDW! 👍👍👍👏👏👏
THANK YOU! I have been saying for ages that you are actually dropping and moving on flight of passage and no one believed me! This proves it 🙌 amazing ride!
I was at animal kingdom and went here I was mind blown how good it was.It also had that funny feeling in ur stomach. But the ride took 2 hours but it was worth it.❤️Watching this again makes me scared😂 I stared holding so tight bc I was scared and it was so realistic I started sweating
When I stepped on that Tron lightcycle and got to soar over the magnificent Globnar trees, I felt more joy in my life than when I first saw the face of my newborn son. Tears.
I am assuming you have never ridden this. But if you have and still have this opinion, there are tens of thousands of people who are "easily impressed" who would disagree with you. But, to each their own. I dont judge.
everyone who's scared i just got off and the ride was sooo fun!!! I'm a HUGE wimp but this ride was super cool and i didn't get the stomach feeling once! The "drops" are hardly noticeable and it was just a really fun ride! I hate the drop feeling and i've been on rides like big thunder, seven dwarves, and space mountain but this ride is so much less intense then all of them. It's a really fun ride and It's not 1 Bit scary!!!
this ride has set the standard for all rides to compare to it is by far the best ride ever not even the best coasters in the world compare i often say that i hope heaven is somewhat like this ride!!!!!!
Omg I loved that ride! The line for that was WAYYYYYY TOO LONG..and only for a ride that is 6 minutes!!! It TOTALLYY wasn't worth 3 hours of waiting (yes I'm serious)but I totally enjoyed this ride.
This is not completely like soarin..only in some ways. Soarin lifts and tilts u slightly upward into a screen. Flight of passage starts u off feet high in the air and the entire platform actually moves and drops you.
just recently i looked up and realized ur in a giant theater almost like soarin. i was so surprised. this ride deserves all of its long waits because it actually feels likes ur in the movie it’s great
I swore I would never wait in line over an hour for a ride and that was really pushing it. Rode this first thing and later that day we went back and happily waited in line for 90+ min to experience this again. It is just a ride but it makes you feel like Pandora is your reality and you're sad to have to return to your actual reality.
I can see a way to cut down the 5-7 hour wait drastically by removing the 10 minutes of preshow that really dragged on too long. 10 min of preshow for the 5 minute ride. that's silly.
There are I think 4 chambers total, but even if it's just two, cutting out the 10 minutes would allow 8 more GROUPS of people per hour. If each chamber holds 8 people, that is 64 MORE people per hour that can ride!
The preshow video content is dynamic , if there is a ride delay and they are not ready for the next group , there will be a malfunction example of the genetic scanning system in the video to give them time to get things back in sync for the next group.
The ride itself cant support more groups due to the length of the film experience itself (4:25) plus the short time for the riders to disembark and for the Disney cast members to reset and check of the ride vehicles for the next group. , the queue is a lot more interesting then simply standing there idle to wait for the next possible ride loop , the queue designed in to be part of the ride experience as well and explains aspects of the content..
Seeing how when I first saw the film when I was 10, I was absolutely fascinated by the creatures the Avatar’s rode on. I would’ve loved to experience that, and seeing it’s now possible through 3D simulation this is definitely something I experience one day. I have to.
What’s even more amazing on the ride is that your banshee “breathes.” The seat heaves in and out and simulates the animal breathing. Not a big deal but I was astounded on the ride. Not to mention that the ride cue and the entire land is so incredibly immersive. It’s definitely worth the money and is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I’m not even a huge Avatar fan, but the Pandora land was one of the best things Disney has done in the parks in a long long time.
I’ve been on that ride, and if you plan to go to Disney that is literatly the best ride there. Usually it’s a 1-2 hour wait but it’s really worth it😍. That’s why you should plan to get fast passes like 3 months before you go, so you can get on the ride in 5 minutes
Eman Albana This is in Walt Disney World in Florida. They have so many different and amazing rides. This is their newest. I hope you can get there one day. I know you will love it.
Jane Usero O.k thank you very much about nice adventure rides you give it to me and all the details for your park, because maybe this year I am going to visit America, so I hope to coming to your nice parks and activities
Dont worry. My hubby gets motion sickness and only one short part made him a little queazy. If you find it starts to bother you, just close your eyes. The movement is so smooth, it really shouldnt bother you. You will regret it if you dont try.
Frank Conti 😂 My hubby gets motion sickness too. But he was good for most of the ride. Just one short scene made him a little queezy. He just closed his eyes for that part and was fine.
well, you get a warning pamphlet that gives you all the warnings and details about the ride when you get on line. And not to mention there are warning signs at the queue's entrance.
I've just seen the commercial for this and my curiosity brought me to this really great video that shows people how the ride moves and things you could expect to be a part of. I imagine sensory overload is what makes this ride so cool and something you have to personally experience for the thrill. Thanks for sharing this!
It definitely is a sensory overload ride. Its stunning, amazing and exciting. I went on it again about a week ago and filmed the screen from the seat so you can see the scenes. I will be posting it in the coming weeks.
Thank you for this. It is so hard to find videos that show the actual process of getting in/on rides. I am trying to decide what rides I think my mother can get on before we go to Disney.
i almost chickened our riding this ride but i’m so glad i went on it. avatar is my favorite movie and i can say when i got off this ride i cried cause of how amazing this experience was

Christina Rizzo thank you. It is an amazing experience and, as you can tell...my granddaughters favorite.

There actually isn't a lot of motion in the ride vehicle. The visuals fool your brain into thinking you are doing all that swooping and diving.

How?

I felt motion sick just by watching this video LOL

The ride itself cant support more groups due to the length of the film experience itself (4:25) plus the short time for the riders to disembark and for the Disney cast members to reset and check of the ride vehicles for the next group. , the queue is a lot more interesting then simply standing there idle to wait for the next possible ride loop , the queue designed in to be part of the ride experience as well and explains aspects of the content..
@@allrock1238 Oh, I always thought that was intentionally scripted, as every time I went on the ride, the genetic scanner would need to be reset.
The Pandora is a beautiful world filled with a lot of creatures and also avatars
It sure is. My granddaughter fell in love with Pandora on our first visit. She wants to be a na'vi. 😁
I remember going here in Florida and it was my favorite and the Mount Everest
My whole family rode this but I was sat outside alone on a bench because I felt like I was going to pass out :( so thank you for this!
I REMEMBER THIS RIDE😍😍 I loved it
I've been on this it's sooooooo good!
Best ride in the world, from England
Nice video! I feel the same way ... "no, no, no" when it is over!!!!!
I love the Avatar ride in Disney World. I went on it and it was fun and exciting.
I went on this ride before it was really fun and cool thumbs up if ya
Want to now more
It’s amazing when the big banshee poops on you, and when after you linked with the banshee, it exploded.
Espectacular 😍😍😍😍😍
Absolutely the best ride ever!!
Exactly what I wanted to see . Thank you !
You are welcome.
Other POV only show The screen this showed the movement of the ride showing to riders how much turbulence there is. The best POV I have ever seen!
Thank you.
@@janeusero7631 your welcome!
I’ve been on that ride, and if you plan to go to Disney that is literatly the best ride there. Usually it’s a 1-2 hour wait but it’s really worth it😍. That’s why you should plan to get fast passes like 3 months before you go, so you can get on the ride in 5 minutes
Wow I love this kind of ride to adventure, this is in which country, I hope in future to visit your country so can I ride in this kind of ride
💪👌👍
I rode Flight of Passage last week, and it was like the room was moving around went it felt like I was flying with the big screen.
Best ride at Disney world!
I agree!
This is such a great video! Thanks for posting!
まさにこのような映像探してました!
I feel I would get motion sickness from this but I want to do it soooo bad!!
FluffPup me too :((
Dont worry. My hubby gets motion sickness and only one short part made him a little queazy. If you find it starts to bother you, just close your eyes. The movement is so smooth, it really shouldnt bother you. You will regret it if you dont try.
Jane Usero Thanks sooo much for replying I was hoping you would see it and say if anyone had motion sickness you knew and went on it
You MUST ride it. You won't want to close your eyes.
I just went on this ride two days ago and it was great can't wait to do it again
This ride has to be my favorite of all time honestly
Mine too.
I already rode this ride so much! It’s amazing!!
Motion sickness just watching this ✨🤮🤢
Frank Conti 😂 My hubby gets motion sickness too. But he was good for most of the ride. Just one short scene made him a little queezy. He just closed his eyes for that part and was fine.
well, you get a warning pamphlet that gives you all the warnings and details about the ride when you get on line. And not to mention there are warning signs at the queue's entrance.
@@janeusero7631 my eye not good for 3D moive called #Avatar 🖖🏻 and I'm loving this it without 3D classce
@@isabelsummers8017 Here is a video of the screen. It shows you better what you see on the ride.

The girl at the end "NO NO NO NO" when it's over xD so relatable
That was my granddaughter. She is now 14 and still hates when it ends. 😁
I just did it 2 hours ago loll
Nassima Khnati Pretty amazing, isnt it?
Omgggg me and my dad rode this
Worth the 105 hour wait
Thank you for this. It is so hard to find videos that show the actual process of getting in/on rides. I am trying to decide what rides I think my mother can get on before we go to Disney.
Gahhhhh, this ride was AWESOME
I love this ride it’s amazing
Great video Thanks for sharing
i almost chickened our riding this ride but i’m so glad i went on it. avatar is my favorite movie and i can say when i got off this ride i cried cause of how amazing this experience was
It is a beautiful experience.
Yasss this is what I needed this was an amazing ride I loved it !!!
Watching this while in line.
日本人いませんか!
I think I’ll fast pass this ride when I go for my birthday this year
I highly recommend it. I always fast pass it. I think our next trip, I might do the standby once. I have never seen the regular line.
I miss this ride I have gone on it but Corona now I can't go 😨😢😢😢
I know. I miss it too.
MOST GORGEOUS RIDE EVAAAAAR!! =3
I don't like amusement park rides I'm just here for my science project lol.
Clever girl! Seeing through the tricks some...I approve.
I would love to go on this ride ad the river journey,,, so good,,, we need to na'vi to look after our planet.
It was so cool to see the POV. However, the screen thing that covers teh belongings kinda covered the camera. This was cool tho.
ua-cam.com/video/24OrXb7vsaw/v-deo.html
This video will show you an unobstructed view from the seat.
