Amazed at how good the photos looked on the iQOO.... I have both the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the Galaxy S23 Ultra, and while I prefer the S23 as a phone overall, the iPhone takes the better pictures. When looking at the pictures on a big, hi-res screen the Samsung may have the bolder colours, but the pictures look oversharpened and noisy while the iPhone just "gets" textures much better, the pics seem more like "real life". That oversharpening is something I did not notice on the iQOO, the pictures looked very beautifully rendered, and in the samples provided I preferred them over the iPhone pictures because of their warmer colours (the iPhone might do that too with a different colour profile though, possibly). Second comment.. I keep looking at phones but the Nothing Phone 1 seems to have ticked every box for me at the moment. I know the internal camera app is a bit pants, but for normal selfies and portrait images I think its fine once edited. To get the best from the camera in the Nothing Phone 1 I am using 'Open Camera' which is so good it shouldn't be free! I have maximized the selfie camera with it and ALL of my UA-cam videos are made using the selfie camera. After watching one of your other videos yesterday I am tempted to try recording in 4K using the main camera - but it is nice seeing where I am ''in view'' while recording the videos. What else? I have created and released music using the NP1 and FL Studio mobile app, and more recently I have been filming mini-vlog videos for studios while I'm out in Atlanta, and doing all the editing with CapCut and the NP1. The only thing I would probably change is the 8GB up to the 12GB model for the editing side of things, but in honesty it is a great piece of tech and it costs hardly anything. I've had friends say they want to buy an NP2 but after playing with mine they are sold! I like your Zenphone 10 review and it is tempting with the better processor and smaller size, but I've also toyed with the idea of an S22/S23 to save carrying the Beam with my XReal glasses. You influenced me to spend money haha! But I love the XReal glasses they are insanely good. Back to phones... I'm not sure what a good upgrade phone for me would be - asthetics plays a role, but I wont ever go back to Apple because the price is ridiculous and whenever an iPhone user looks at my phone they lose their mind. They have never seen a mobile phone 'reverse charge' their expensive ting before.. I visited the store in Soho before flying to Atlanta and nearly EVERYTHING was sold out! Carl Pei is a genius.
I am going to upgrade from a Samsung Note 10+ to the Samsung S24 Ultra! So I should see some serious improvements. I have been waiting for a form factor change, but now I am having problems charging my Note so it is time to bite the bullet!
Reminder: Total Antutu and GeekBench GPU are NOT cross platform comparable, as they test different things. The ones that kinda count as cross platform comparable are GeekBench CPU and 3DMark.
Honkai is amazingly optimized. Played it on my Oppo Find X5 Pro (SD8Gen1) and it was running 60FPS all the time, with all graphics MAX although the temperatures were really high (above 45°C), and it was using between 50 to 90% of the GPU so unfortunately I had to uninstall it, because it was also sucking the soul out of my battery even if it was running great 😂
"sucking the soul out of my battery" hahahah so funny. the gen1 is known for overheating although it performs very well. i was gonna get the realme gt 2 pro because of its new processor, great cameras, and display but i changed my mind after discovering that its processor overheats. it was an unfortunate outcome but im very glad i dint get it because there is now the realme gt5 pro which is far far better and cheap to buy. i suggest you get get its if you after a budget flagship phone.
@@CharlesOkwara I'm not after any device for the next 3-4 years. Spent a lot of money on this device because I got it at release which I own for almost 2 years already because that's what was the best for me back then. Although the heating issues with very demanding games, like Genshin of Honkai (which I can play on my laptop), this phone runs smooth like brand new and always gets between 6 and 8h of screen on time (with 120Hz always enabled) if I'm not playing top AAA games. So for me no other phone for a long time, and the design is beautiful also, it doesn't gets left behind, if anything it will start to feel timeless. Cameras still going very strong which I use for editing videos and photos with family, and the 50W wireless charging compensates many times when needed.
About all complex game can run on nearly 60fps, what is playable, any extra 20% just make it smoother, but have nothing to do with the "playable" thing, because it was already over the playable treshold.

Hey.. You have some issues in your video.most of the time you mention IQOO 12 with SDG2 when instead iy should be SDG3. Please correct that.Looks very unprofessional....
You can't compare OpenCL/Vulkan scores with the Metal score in terms of numbers. The performance doesn't translate based on those numbers irrespective of the game. And just so you know ; all GPU dependent apps on the iPhone are built for Metal as that's the only graphics protocol it supports. So Idk why you made it sound like some games on the iPhone don't support Metal and would run better if they did.
Isn't he referring to support for the latest Metal update? Not all games have been optimised for that, so expect games to improve gradually on iOS. The real take is that software matters so if Metal. Vulcan then GPU benchmarks do not tell the whole story, which is obvious if you have seen many gaming reviews.
while yeah, kinda true, youre comparing phone 2-3x the price with still mobile games against portable home console hybrid device running actual console quality games, and I know it struggles with many of them, but you have to make apples to apples comparison to get some actual result worth looking into. (btw I really hope Switch 2 is big improvement tech-wise)
@@ondrejeder8816 True its kinda not fair comparison but the fact that Switch is a Gaming console who's primary role is to play games cant do that properly. Meanwhile we have phones who have completely different priorities, run AAA console games like Resident evil village. @@Thetechchap I understand the global Iqoo 12 release is after the S24, as Samsung gets first dibs on releasing in the West. It is China only, like the VIVO X100 Pro and Xiaomi 14 Pro.
@@andyH_Englandwhat do you mean by global launch ? Here in my country (SEA region) has already got an official launch for this phone today, and we can start to preorder this phone next week
It is because that is what you expect with AAA games. Your gaming laptop will die after an hour with a battery that is 10X larger. So, of course, creators realise that most people have common sense and know you must use a power source. In due course, they will improve and be optimised, but you have to be realistic.
It's annoying that geekbench is always changing their versions. I can't relate to 2200 single core I got used to geekbench 5 and that sounds slow now...
Maybe He mean First smartphone equipped with SD 8 Gen 3 for Global market While Xiaomi 14 series is exclusively in China. I don't know when this phone wil debut globally I hope this Idea is right 😅
Charging speed comparison: iQOO 9 Pro = 18 minutes iQOO 11 Pro = 12 minutes (200 Watt charger) iQOO 12 = 28 minutes I don't understand what kind of upgrade is this
Samsung hopefully will give the UK market this chip in their S24 release. Maybe with a custome one if they do. If they go back to the Exynos chip, it will be the S23 ultra for another year (yes, Samsung fanboy here😅)
We've improved enough in multi and gpu. The biggest bottleneck in gaming has always been single core. The cpu literally cannot keep up with the gpu so having a 60% gpu increase isn't going to do anything. 12% increase in single core is really not much of an upgrade
As someone who still uses an iPhone 8 Plus daily, i think any new iPhone would suit me unless it’s a mini since my screen time I’d say is above average, so perhaps an iPhone 15 Plus, still unsure though 🤷♂️
I would suggest that every number you tell in the video you would flash the numer on the screen. Sometimes hard to understand and have to rewatch it multiple times and still dont get it
The custom 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy was basically an overclocked version, with perhaps a 5-8% boost over the base 8G2. I'm more interested to see how Samsung utilise the AI performance
my eye to be honest is just on a used s23. i fell into the Samsung ecosystem and i think it's pretty nice. i like the features that we get a couple years before stock android and ios get them.
The Processor here isn't running at it's full potential tbh Idk why this happens with IQOO but it's geekbench scores are lower than the Xiaomi 14 Pro which is able to Consistently score more than the iPhone 15PM in Multi core and has a stability of 80% in 3D mark
The main question is - Does it shift colours at an angle? I have made a terrible mistake buying the Oneplus 11, just to have horrendous colour reproduction due to immense shift at even the slightest angle.
@@mit6089 Unfortunately, most upgrades nowadays are miniscule, so I know everything else will be spot on.

Hey brother...love your videos.....can you suggest me iqoo 12 or iphone 13 pro max....which one is better for gaming and day to day use
I know you are afraid of lawsuits , but performance is all about Emulation, that 20% more FPS can make a game playable
About all complex game can run on nearly 60fps, what is playable, any extra 20% just make it smoother, but have nothing to do with the "playable" thing, because it was already over the playable treshold.

I literally came across mobile gaming when i sold my ps4 before being able to get a hand on PS5 when the shortage was around.
I was blown away. I ended up switching to samsung for serious mobile gaming, now have the Zflip 5 and damn, its so much better in my preference vs console. Theres a lot more games, has its own wifi signal, can play xbox gamepass, controller support and just more convenient. It runs better also. I also bought a hdmi casting device if i ever want the console experience aswell. Android has an endless amount of 3rd party support.
"Doesn't perform that well"

Meanwhile Nintendo Switch actual console struggling with 25fps😅😅
while yeah, kinda true, youre comparing phone 2-3x the price with still mobile games against portable home console hybrid device running actual console quality games, and I know it struggles with many of them, but you have to make apples to apples comparison to get some actual result worth looking into.
S23 ultra still beat the new iPhone 15 Pro Max tho
It certainly could be.
Why is no UA-camr mentioning that console games on iPhone drain the battery in 40 odd minutes?
Because that's a downside and apple can't have those.. damn media bias
It is because that is what you expect with AAA games. Your gaming laptop will die after an hour with a battery that is 10X larger. So, of course, creators realise that most people have common sense and know you must use a power source. In due course, they will improve and be optimised, but you have to be realistic.
@@andyH_England Can't they still state that in the video though?

iQOO 9 Pro = 18 minutes
iQOO 11 Pro = 12 minutes (200 Watt charger)
iQOO 12 = 28 minutes

You compare pro with standard, and flagship chip is expensive
I expected the graphics performance to be better but not by that much damn!!
Bro can you please give your review about the Lenovo Legion Go handheld
As someone who still uses an iPhone 8 Plus daily, i think any new iPhone would suit me unless it’s a mini since my screen time I’d say is above average, so perhaps an iPhone 15 Plus, still unsure though 🤷♂️

What will you really need 3 million antutu score for anyway?
Tom, how much of a difference are you expecting in performance, battery and efficiency for the 24 series compared to the IQOO? Prediction? :)
The custom 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy was basically an overclocked version, with perhaps a 5-8% boost over the base 8G2. I'm more interested to see how Samsung utilise the AI performance

The Processor here isn't running at it's full potential tbh
Idk why this happens with IQOO but it's geekbench scores are lower than the Xiaomi 14 Pro which is able to Consistently score more than the iPhone 15PM in Multi core and has a stability of 80% in 3D mark

The main question is - Does it shift colours at an angle? I have made a terrible mistake buying the Oneplus 11, just to have horrendous colour reproduction due to immense shift at even the slightest angle.

I've got one and the display imo is very impressive , and has no colour shift . And why would you be looking at your phone at an angle anyway ?
@@mit6089 Unfortunately, most upgrades nowadays are miniscule, so I know everything else will be spot on. However, the color shifts on a small tilt, even to the point where there's a discernable colour mismatch between the top and the bottom of the phone on a straight angle. Most people don't see it, I do.
