    I use copper tubing for spacers, cut to length, then cut in half. Tap with hammer to form handle bars. They act like a crush gasket when torqued. Aluminum tubing works okay too.

    Maybe go for a 24mm nibbi, that size jump from 22 to 26 is too much probably. A mikuni 26mm usually comes with a 190 main jet and 22.5 pilot jet btw. That might also not be your ideal carb.

    The X18 comes with a 22mm carb for a reason. 26mm is too big for a 125. Also, the screw on the intake side is your fuel screw. The screw on the filter side, next to your idle screw, is your air screw.

    I did this just today . I used the 108 jet and switched the do dad for the other one that came with it. I had the same air leak used the stock plastic thing and old gasket no leaks and twisted the air a bit now it runs good . way better than stock. snaps up good and quick no pops coming down and it idles prefect.

    The nibbi carb is for advanced racing engines for more prep to the power band. The carb will show big torque gains with a cam, exhaust, and port matching and tuning. This would only be needed if you where actually racing in the 125 classes. Other than that I would stay with a mikuni for better fuel economy.

    • @xaviermccloud4586
      @xaviermccloud4586 3 роки тому +4

      Meh these are pretty adjustable. I'm new to engines but it's obvious if you have the ability to adjust fuel and air, you could theoretically hook any carb that is compatible, up to whatever bike/ lawn mower engine.

    • @cycletechperformance9581
      @cycletechperformance9581 2 роки тому +9

      The Brand of carb has nothing to do with if it's a "Racing" carb or not. Mikuni Carbs have been used in the highest forms of racing and not just motorcycles for a long time. The Carb is spec'd and sized by its venturi Throat size and its jetting circuits and if its got an accelerator pump, idle air cutoff, TPS, ext ext. The "Nibbi carb is for Advanced racing engines" for more "PEP" to the powerband" comment along with Mikuni is for fuel economy is completely Inaccurate.

    Mikuni is really the “gas economy” way, a Nibbi is more 125cc racing classes via track days but I will say harder to “fine tune it” correctly if not it’ll confuse the idle via rich or lean, a Mikuni it’s easy to do no “fine tuning needed” just my opinion. 💯

    Hey bud , I ran into the exact same carburetor issues as you and I have a solution that makes my stock Apollo agb37 go 58 mph. Run the t-bolt racing intake manifold and 24 mm flat slide carburetor. I'm running second from the top slot on my needle. #38 pilot, 105 main jet. not only is the bike faster in top speed but you can go super slow in any gear. The drivability is excellent. No bog no cough. You can go from crawling to full throttle in deep gravel and not miss a beat. 26 mm carburetor is too big for 125CC. Flat slide carburetor seem to get a little bit better top end than the round slide carbs do. I tried running a nibbi 26 mm flat slide and it was just too big. Ended up buying a off-brand MAIKUNI 😂😂 and I have my Nibbi 26mm in storage until I go bigger in displacement on this bike. You should definitely try it I guarantee the results are night and day better than a vm22.

      @@TynkaTyme and woth the stock filter and the hose on I have my throttle pin on the 4th spot and it runs decent when warm but when cold it will idle bit if I touch the throttle it dies immediately. Until it get fully heated up I have to let it run. Takes like 10-15 minutes before I can ride it every time

    • @TynkaTyme
      @TynkaTyme  2 роки тому +1

      @@ViaticalGenie4 that hose isn’t causing it. Your aftermarket filter is allowing better air flow than your stock filter.. just need to adjust your fuel screw on bottom of carb to get the adjustment right for the larger volume of air it’s taking in with the new filter.

      @ViaticalGenie4 2 роки тому

      @@TynkaTyme yeah I adjusted it from closed until the screw fell out with all 5 throttle pin settings and couldn't get it to stop stalling as soon as I touched the throttle but as soon as I put the stock intake on and had the pin in the 4th setting I was able to ride it. Still needs more adjusting but I'm gonna take it to a buddy who own a shop and see if he can figure it out. There might be something else wrong.

    You won't see any difference from just a carb as far as top end. Now if you did some work to the head valve springs cam head work now you would benefit from the 26 mm carb nice video tho.

      Thanks Joseph! Yeah, easiest way to gain speed or torque would be gearing. I made this video to show people a carburetor isn’t the magical cure for speed. Everyone things a bigger carb is the ticket to going faster when that’s not the case. Thanks for watching!
