  • He Transformed the Most Dangerous Place in Lagos, Nigeria is a video about me visiting Oshodi which is home to one of the scariest places in Nigeria where area boys live, and showing you how it has been changed to a classroom through the game of chess by Tunde Onakoya.
Oshodi has been known to be one of the scariest and dangerous places to visit for a very long time and it's amazing to see the transformation happening and I will love you guys to support the mission.

I got really touched with what Olaoluwa said when he was asked what he wanted to become in future. He said " I want to become a soldier so I can fight for my country".

Dear TAF, please can you do a different story about this Oshodi bus stop /terminal.
Oshodi is gradually returning to what it was (ROBBERS DEN) before BRF came and cleared it but lately it's getting real bad again.
This young boys needs to be re-engaged through games as this.
Our government with the biggest and largest fund has not thought about THIS.

When the young dude was asked (by Tayo) what he wants to become in the future, and he responded that he wants to be a soldier and fight for his country. Tears literally run down from my eyes😭
This boy’s heartfelt concern is the insecurity in the country. He has seen a lot in His 6months under that bridge. So many injustices and inadequate security many citizens of Nigeria 🇳🇬 are facing on a daily basis. GOD BLESS HIS HEART and TAYO AINA films ❤️💕

@abs po That’s exactly what I just said, but you just decided to make an extended paragraph saying essentially the exact same thing as the message I sent prior. But we’re definitely not spoiled. Just because some people have opportunities doesn’t mean everyone has the same opportunities just because they live in the same country. A lot of people are less unfortunate then others.

Chief Obafemi Awolowo gave us all free education, but the education system in Nigeria is almost collapsing due to private institutions around the country. I hadn't even finished watching the video, I was already impressed by this man's mindset. It's true that one man or woman can make a difference. This is indeed inspiration. I know about Oshodi very well. But this man is reversing those experiences with the introduction of Chess. Masterpiece.

Most of us Nigerians or African see problem and ignore it. But, some like Tunde Onakoya see problem and look for a way to help in whatever way they can. It’s really refreshing to see what this young man is doing. He is changing lives because a lot of kids that could have turned to crime are getting engaged. And chess is not just any game. As Tunde said, it is a game of strategy. This means all these guys playing the chess can develop a lot of mental strength and intelligence that can help them to be useful and valuable in other areas of the society. They could even go on to represent Nigeria in international chess tournament.
As for you Tayo, it’s great that you came up with this unconventional content. You are a very creative and intelligent young man. Keep up the good work brother.
Ive already jumped on the gofundme link to donate. This is a good course that must be supported.

Impressive!! People think you have to have boatloads of cash or a big project to give back to the community.
You can see from some of the young men interviewed , Just merely 'seeing' them and treating them with dignity and respect goes a long way to getting the best out of them. Not the money you 'throw' at them. Weldone Tayo for this inspiring video👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾

The high population of traffic through Oshodi everyday naturally makes it a urban milieu for hustling, opportunities and crimes as well. Many first time visitors from outside Lagos coming in on road will likely land in Oshodi. If you are not lucky and street wise someone might take advantage of you. Poor physical planning, traffic congestion with Molue yellow buses, poor waste disposal system, unfriendly police etc made that side of town a nightmare. But things have improved starting with Governor Ambode and continued. Great to see this human side of Oshodi. Let's hope the government can see this video and work with civil societies to make Oshodi a better environment.

Thank-you Tunde for helping these kids, and Tayo for showing us their plight, so more people can find ways to help them. Getting these kids of the streets by having programs like basketball or soccer camps, music camps where they could learn to play an musical instrument, could all help as well, as can art camps where they could learn to paint and make art, skills which can help them to have a creative career, contribute to society, and help themselves
to be able to have a better life.

My gosh- this is extremely great to hear about; it’s showing the slow, yet burgeoning progress that Africa is going through. Africans’ around the diaspora are done sitting around doing nothing about their deplorable conditions anymore. Even though I’m from America, I still feel a burning pride in me witnessing progress amongst our people. GO NIGERIA!!! 🇺🇸 🤝 🇳🇬

Africans have never sat around "doing nothing about their deplorable conditions". They have alway fought to move forward and survive to fight another day. Through wars, famines, coups, mass genocides and rapes, they have done the work to move forward to get to where they are today. What a disrespectful statement
