- This soulful song is from the movie "The Jazz Singer" released in 1981. When talking about the movie's soundtrack most people mention the "hit" songs like "America" "Love on the Rocks and "Hello Again". Who could not love these amazing songs? They are absolutely wonderful.
But I also have a real soft spot for this one - a deeply meaningful, romantic and emotion-filled song.
As always, I have tried to use images that I feel are in line with Neil's unique lyrics and singing style. He feels his songs when he sings them, and makes the listener feel them as well. So, in a way, as the person who puts the video together, I try to put in some of that feeling into it all too, mainly by taking the liberty of using his own pictures. I hope this will come across when you watch the video. I have also used some (unfortunately blurry) footage from the video of another of Neil's beautiful songs "This Time" as I found it a really good fit for this song. I do hope you will enjoy it.

Neil Diamond may be the most talented, all around musical artist of our time. Amazing songwriter, singer, performer, and from interviews, clearly a humble, gracious, kind and really nice person.

Hello Nas, I'm so glad you did this! It is beautiful. Very tasteful and it illustrates perfectly the sentiment of this beautiful song. You're right. One tends to overlook this song among all the others in The Jazz Singer. But since you brought my attention to it I've listened again and again and it really gets more beautiful every time I listen. It gives me a similar feeling as Signs. I believe it's the combination music/voice. The lyrics are very poetic too, but the thrill I get comes from that specific voice singing those specific notes. I always like the songs he wrote with Gilbert Becaud of whom I have almost every record.
Your video accompanies the poem with precision. I don't have to dissect it to you since you put it together yourself and what matters is the impeccable final result.
I must say that with this video of yours, this song is now one of the 5 top ones . Signs, Brooklyn Roads, If I never knew your name, I am...I said and this one.

Hi Joana, so good to get your positive feedback on the video. Yes, he did co-write the song with Gilbert Becaud (known as Mr. 100,000 volts, I believe?😊.....) but as you say, the special thing about it is that it's in Neil's voice. And that's one of a kind. One has to point out his own personality too, who else would look quite like him while singing? In some songs, too many other images become superfluous, Neil's own pictures tell the story. So it is with this one. I am so glad your attention was brought to this song and placed it in your top 5!!👍😊
