I guess because Colbert was a ridiculous character who says outrageous stuff himself (even though he's technically no longer doing the character, it still clearly shows up - just as his real self showed up on The Report)
+varagor23 I agree, but I can't penalize him for not being able to adapt to anyone/everyone's style of comedy, like I'm team coco all the way but I know Conan couldn't do what Colbert does.

They often cut things out for time. But you're right, that one was pretty obvious.
Also the pile of books, there's 4 books at the end but we only saw two.
+Charlie Hussell Yeah also it looks like at 4:49 when they cut to him saying "jeb bush" they had taken the applause and edited it over the next cut than faded it out in order to cut some more time. I wish they would put extended cuts on youtube. I guess its just extra work.
