Nice! A few years ago I filled the back of my Subaru with some 80s and 90s Nat Geos that a friend gave me. I collaged with a few of them, but it was harder to find stuff I liked than I thought... then I donated them when I was moving because I just didn't have a place to store them. But man, that is an awesome haul, especially the older ones. I know what you mean about needing to clean and organize! It's really great to see your printing process.
Yeah, I really love the ones from the 50s and 60s. The print quality is definitely different. I think it was pre-gloss or something. But, I do love using the newer ones as drawing reference materials. There were some fun looking humans in the 80s!
Wow! You have been busy! You are about to get even busier, looking thru those magazines--be careful, you can get lost looking thru magazines. Suddenly, you will realize that you are missing hours of time. I went thru my magazines years ago and ripped out all the pages I would be using for reference and put them in a binder. Then, I wouldn't have to keep flipping thru whole magazines each time i am looking for inspo. Your Baxter bags look so good! Your cat zine looks so good! Keep up the momentum, Jason🎉
Haha! I could probably spend the rest of my days just looking through these magazines! I’m pretty excited about the prospect. My thing is that I can look through one and then five years later find stuff that I passed over the first time. So I just hoard everything. And now with this, it’s kind of insane. 😂 Also, pretty excited with all my cat art too! 😹
What a magazine haul! I'll be curious to see how you end up using the National Geographics. Love your cassette tape-listening cat lino, and your zine covers look great too.
@@ianmargolycz I could definitely give it a shot! I have always had a hard time getting that to work. But now I have limitless materials to try with! 😂
@jasonelambeth You and me both! 😄 I think I tried it once or twice. Apparently, you need to have patience (which I don't have) and let the layers dry in between steps? Not totally sure. Looks awesome when it works, though.
Omg! I didn’t think anyone would be interested!? 😂 Welll, I’m currently saving everything for an art market in mid-May and then hoping that I can post stuff that doesn’t sale online after. If you want to DM me on Instagram, I can definitely get you guys a zine though!

Thanks so much Marcy! Already making lots of collages! 😂
What a great find! Super high quality photos in those things. Definitely worth it. 🤘
Agreed!! I’m super pumped. I’ve already spent the last couple of mornings making collages out of them.
@@jasonelambeth I bet you could use some of the images for gelprint transfers as well!

I don't know if you've checked this channel out, but he does a lot of gel plate transfers. Might be helpful.

Used for sale at a library I found a set of National geographic magazines released the month of the year I was born. Of course I needed to get it.
Wise choice! I wonder if I have my birthday month in this collection. I will have to keep my eyes peeled. It would be fun to see what was going on!
@@jasonelambeth odds are in your favor!
@@Impractical_Engineer lol. So true!
How to buy a zine and a cat shirt? My son and I are very excited about the Drawings of my Cats! 😊
